I got drunk at a wedding, I feel so ashamed of myself. Feel awful friends are saying don't worry about it. I didn't do anything wrong but feel so upset with myself.

I'm sure you weren't the only one most weddings are pretty booze! Just put it behind you. If you don't make it into a big deal others won't either.

DarlingCoffee Mon 08-Aug-16 18:43:16

*boozy

NerrSnerr Mon 08-Aug-16 18:44:09

I bet at least 50% of the people there were drunk. Most of us have been there so don't worry.

AaronBleurgh Mon 08-Aug-16 18:44:59

I don't think I've been to a wedding and NOT got drunk, unless pregnant/feeding. grin

BitOutOfPractice Mon 08-Aug-16 18:45:58

Don't stress. I bet everyone was pleased to see you having a good time and I bet lots of people were drunk too!

MrsJayy Mon 08-Aug-16 18:48:27

It is fine honestly Im usually drunk at weddings but we have all had the doom moments

DownstairsMixUp Mon 08-Aug-16 18:50:09

I'm sure it's the law to get drunk at a wedding.. I've usually got drunk at all apart from my own! grin

Wolfiefan Mon 08-Aug-16 18:50:31

I got drunk at my own wedding! Still walking and talking but certainly NOT sober. I think most weddings are best after a few!
grin

MrsJayy Mon 08-Aug-16 18:50:47

I once got so drunk at a wedding i fell over a woman in a wheelchair to catch the bouquet blush

Wolfiefan Mon 08-Aug-16 18:51:08

Unless you vomited on the bride.
If you did that then you are a terrible person!
shock

Weddings are much more bearable if you are drunk.

grin at MrsJayy

MephistoMarley Mon 08-Aug-16 18:54:19

Why are you ashamed of getting drunk at a wedding? Are you very religious or something?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties Mon 08-Aug-16 18:54:21

Unless you got naked and danced on the tables, fell in the wedding cake, propositioned the best man, sloshed red wine down the back of the bride's dress or sobbed for two hours on a stranger's shoulder about the state of your life, I think you're fine. grin

FeckinCrutches Mon 08-Aug-16 18:55:04

I don't think I've ever been sober at a wedding! What did you do?

chocoholic89 Tue 09-Aug-16 04:51:41

No I didn't do anything wrong. I just feel embarrassed about it but yeah I suppose there was everyone else drinking too. I don't know just my conscience.

MrsJayy Tue 09-Aug-16 08:27:40

It is ok to have a drink get a bit drunk sometimes you seem mortifyed though but you need to let it go.

Rudymentary Tue 09-Aug-16 08:32:21

I suspect not many people noticed as they were probably drunk too.

I'm always doing it - fortunately I'm a nice drunk (so I've been told) Some people become irritating feckers

I got pissed at my brother's wedding and told his MIL that her daughter was a stroppy bitch (she was!) who was only after my Dad's money because he bought them a massive house and furnished it for them. 2 years later she left and attempted to get a 6 figure settlement despite the house being in DBs name and not having a job! So technically I was right, but oh what a stooshie it caused at the time!!! (Incidentally she got £7000 from my dad which I think is more than generous!)

LondonBust Tue 09-Aug-16 08:39:39

Did you throw up or the dance floor? Or snog the groom?

If not its all good.

MrsJayy Tue 09-Aug-16 08:47:12

Ayeokthen that was outstanding grin

ayeokthen Tue 09-Aug-16 09:01:36

MrsJayy why thank you grin in my defence it needed saying, although none of my family spoke to me for 2 years (until I was proved right!!!!)

MrsJayy Tue 09-Aug-16 09:08:50

Well least it worked out you were right, i once had a drunk granny tell me it wont last hen she is no right for him she got her claws in blah blah, granny was right it lasted 18 months sadly

FeckinCrutches Tue 09-Aug-16 09:23:36

So you got drunk and did nothing wrong or to embarrass yourself. Sorry to tell you OP, but that is the worst drunk story ever grin
