Hi ladies, I sometimes lurk but rarely post, however I need some help. I am really, really scared about something - to do with buying and selling a house. It's massively risky and I'm almost hyperventilating with fear. Please can someone help me with some affirmations/things I can say to try to calm myself and feel more positive about this? I am feeling constantly nauseous and my poor children aren't getting anything upbeat from me because I'm flatter than a pancake's poo. I'm sure someone will ask why don't we just walk away - well at this stage we would lose a lot of money if we did so...

This might be a bit corny, but it got me through a big blip in my marriage last year.

I got that 'Everything is awesome' tune from The Lego Movie as my earworm and personal theme tune. I began to believe that eventually everything would be awesome. It's not turned out too bad Wink Every time I felt grim I'd sing it (out loud if I was on my own) and I had it on my phone to sing along to.

There's also something I do called Ho'oponopono google . It's a simple 4 line mantra. I do 'I’m sorry, forgive me, I love you, thank you’ where you can aim this at any negativity, internal to yourself as well as to people out and about. If you feel you are creating negativity it might help turn that around.

Have you tried rescue remedy? Some people would call it snake-oil, but a lot of people use it as a stress controller. Complementary therapy with no medicinal content (except if you get the brandy version, but there are cheaper ways of buying brandy). Take in water four times a day for the baseline dose, and as and when you need it.

I love Dr Bach Rescue Remedy too. I really don't care if ignorant people call it "snake oil"......

Louise Hay - in her 80's! - has wonderful affirmations.

This too shall pass...

An old one but one I use when a situation just has to roll on to its own completion.

I love and accept myself exactly as I am...

If I have to be anything other than sweetness and light

Fear is only a feeling, it cannot hold me back...
I can do this, I am perfectly strong and capable...

For stepping outside my comfort zone. I used all of them to get me through the last 2 terms of teaching, leading up to handing n my notice and managing my fears/anxieties afterwards.

The last 2 are in daily use now, as I am in the middle of setting up as a sole trader.

But I have to admit I had to look them up. I usually use songs... cheesy songs...

Mainlythe chorus:
Ain't nothin' gonna to break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down, oh-no
I got to keep on movin'
Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh-no, I got to keep on movin'
