Has she been christened or is she about to be?

No she hasn't that's why I'm looking into it.

If she hasn't previously been christened, by all means you can do that (I did, when DD was a similar age). You approach the minister/church office and find out how they run things - some churches like to have christenings held within a Sunday service, some are happy to do them separately. Then you choose your preferred godparents and ask them nicely!

Of course, while godparents are good and supportive things to have in your life, they have no legal bearing. So if you are wanting to identify someone who would be your DD's guardian in the event that something happened to you, you would need to do that via a solicitor and your Will. Sorry, sure I am stating the blooming obvious Blush
