50th birthday party ideas?

My friend and i would like to have a joint 50th party (we had joint 30th and 40th) in July.
Before, we've had traditional parties at venues with friends, but this year i fancy doing something a bit different.
Having lost friends younger than ourselves over the past year and me battling chronic disease and two major surgeries, i feel that we ought to push the boat out a bit and do something different.
Does anyone have any ideas please - maybe something you or your friends have done or you have heard about?

I was thinking of something like another friend did and doing a wing walk for charity, but my friend would never do that. Just something a little different. xx

White water rafting (great fun apparently), paintballing, go-karting or rallying for a day!

Oooh, good ones!! Anymore? I'm not sure my friend will go for the more dangerous sports (love rafting, but she can't swim) and i am not well enough to be running about too much (being pelted with paintballs, lol). xx
