my eldest son just had a fit

He's 25. He lives with my dad. He has had digestive problems that have not yet been diagnosed.

Dad called to tell me, and the ambulance is there. I am now waiting for a call back to find out what is going on. They are a 3 hour drive away.

Hold my. Hand?

Ecg abnormal. Blue light to local (shit) hospital. I wonder if it is connected to not eating and low sodium/calcium etc levels.

Don't know whether to drive up there.

Sending good vibes and hoping all is well.

Could you get there, might be better than worrying from a distance?

I don't think it was a fit, as my dad first said. I think he just collapsed.

Is there anything stopping you from being able to go?

How worrying, really hope that he is ok, are you able to go to him?

My husband has a few fits about 5 years ago, he was really stressed at the time and he has really low blood pressure.

He had lots of test and lost his licence for a year but nothing was found and he's in good health now.

It was a seizure. Have spoken to him on the phone. He is in resus in case it happens again. He says he is feeling better, bit admits he is dazed and confused.

His diagnosis is "blood infection and raised heart rate" according to his latest text. He was waiting for chest xray. He thought he may come home tonight, but apparently that is now less likely as his heart rate has raised again.

I am on the M40 on my way to derbyshire

Wtf does blood infection mean?

Sorry, have no idea.
How was he when you got there?

YoniMatopoeia · 12/01/2014 10:17

He was discharged shortly before we got there. I went back in and asked to speak to a doctor. He was quite dazed and confused (and tired). They have no idea what caused it. No blood infection (that was information from the dazed and confused one), so white blood cell normal, Us and Es normal, no illicit substances taken.

No reason found. No advice given. Just go home.

I stayed in his room and checked him every 2 hours overnight.

Now told to go to gp, and then Neuro team.

He did have a raised heart rate while he was in. They kept him in resus for quite a while. No reason given for that either.

I don't understand how you get discharged that soon after being in resuss.
