DFS - Got anything nice to say as we're considering a big purchase?

Need to replace sofas and chairs in sitting room. Found a big corner leather sofa with associated range at DFS but just after we had decided on it, DH turned up some terrible internet reviews on the company (poor customer service, poor quality products). No contracts signed or money changed hands yet so I just wondered what Mumsnetters felt about the company? This will either confirm the reports we have found or balance things out - thanks :-)

We have DFS sofas and they are fine :) My BIL and PIL have sofas from DFS as well and they seem happy with them.

You may find checking online reviews helpful. When looking to buy, I felt that there were too many negative reviews for me to ignore. HTH

Been using them for years and have nothing but good to say. Minor problems sorted in no time.

We bought 2 sofas and a chair from dfs a couple of years ago. Had no problems with the service and love the sofas and chair Smile

To be honest propitia the review sites seem to concentrate on the negative I find -perhaps happy people aren't moved to vent on such sites :-)
It is good to hear a couple of good reviews from Morgause and fluffyd. I suppose I was hoping there would be a flood of opinion either one way or another. Still time if any other Mumsnetters would like to chip in.

We bought 2 sofas and an armchair from dfs in July. It was a fab service. no hard sell. They were ready very quickly, in about half the estimated time. They look great.

We ordered dfs sofas in march and had excellent customer service, quick delivery (even with us living in a town house and the guys having to carry a 4 seater sofa up a very narrow staircase) nothing was too much trouble for the delivery guys, they even had to unscrew the arms off the sofa to make it fit up the stairs! They had given us the wrong colour covers on the little cushions (decorative not seat cushions iyswim) and they sent out replacements and let us keep the old ones. I would happily use them all over again!

I have a corner leather sofa from DFS and its still going strong 9 years later. We have a smaller leather sofa and again it still looks great.

Delivery was on time, no issues with customer service. The only thing to mention is if you are paying in full rather than taking advantage of the "buy now pay later" ask for a discount for cash.

My DFS sofa's have lasted years! However try and buy ones which are flagged on the website as Made in Britain - all their sofa's used to be made here hence the good reviews from people like me who have had them for years - now lots are made aboard and they quality can be hit or miss.

People will always go on the internet to moan but very rarely go on to praise

Bought DFS sofas in 2000. They looked perfect until DD1 was old enough to jump on them and knacker them. We changed them in 2010 for a couple more DFS sofas and my arse is on one now. Lovely and comfy.

Delivery on both occasions was on time and could not fault the service or the sofas.

We have sofas and chairs from them and they are lovely, we paid on interest free and they've been brilliant. We are very happy. :)

I'm on my second lot. First was a bit of a mistake on our behalf. We really didn't think about the awkwardness of our front room.

My arse is comfy on a DFS leather recliner right now.
We went in store to have a look around and got a lovely young bloke who was very helpful without being pushy. We told us that with a child and dogs, we should only consider real leather sofas not the cheaper plastic type leather. We worked through electric/battery/manual recline and got a cuppa while I wiggled my arse on different sofas.

Delivery was on time, lovely blokes that refused my help at all, unwrapped everything, put it all in place and gave me extra leather care packages.

I have no complaints!

I've had three sofas over the years. All fab service and quality.

Shame because I loathe the one I chose for the sitting room!!! Wink

I have had two DFS sofas in about ten years, both been fine. We swapped fabric for leather and both great.

I love my DFS recliner sofa.
Black leather, easy to clean, very comfy
Time between order and deliver was long, but think that's the case with most sofa

I ordered a Dfs sofa just over 4 years ago and approx 2 weeks before it was scheduledto be delivered i got a call from them saying it had been slightly damaged in their warehouse and would i like to come and view said sofa with a decision to be made re changing and re ordering or keeping with huge discount, i went to look at the sofa and it wasnt even the one i had ordered, a mix up with names and order numbers. They were really apologetic and ensured me the problem would be sorted and i would get my sofa, it did take an extra 6 weeks and they have now been christened deliver the feckin sofa! But its great, good value and still looks like new

Bought mine in 2006. Leather 3 seater and armchair.

Still love them, although the leather is beginning to crack on the armchair, although I've never cleaned them or anything!

Might have enough positive things to reassure DH now (certainly got more than the negative entries we read on the review site), just bumping for the Mumsnetters who might be coming home from work around now.
