Help me come up with a Roller Derby Name!

Em2121 · 25/04/2013 13:31

Hi -

I just passed my basic training and am joining a roller derby team. Now I need a pseudonym, and it needs to be one that isn't already in use. It needs to be clean enough for my kids to yell it when I play, have my name Emma/Em in it, and they are usually some sort of a pun.

The list of names that have gone is here:
www.twoevils.org/rollergirls/

Any ideas welcome!

x

Best thread ever! I love a pun.

Off the top of my head, all I have is Empathy for the Devil, but I"m working on it...

I love them both! So much better than anything I've come up with. I just don't have a knack for puns...

Seriously, my husband and I spend so much time thinking up puns and daft names for things like this....we're massive geeks. I was telling my dad about our ideas for a mole extermination service the other day named either Apocalypse Mole (not strictly a pun), Mole In One, or Any Mole is a Goal, and he gave me a pitying look and said "you two make your own fun, don't you?". This from a man who would happily spend a week looking round a lawnmower museum.

Thanks Custardo - I like The Empress too :-).

LOL @ Apocalypse Mole. I love non-puns - my favourite one was a hairdresser called "Aspects of Hair". Cracked me up every time.

I would totally ignore my name and go for something like Chesty Magee or Busty Laroux, but that's just me Grin

LOVE Empire Strikes Back! (dammit my punning powers are fading - why didn't I think of this?!)

Hahaha "Aspects of Hair" - brilliant!

Husband just came up with Em I Five, I quite like that...

@Songbird - it's THE BEST fun, and there are teams everywhere now. You should take a look and see if there's one local to you.

My mate plays on a roller derby team. Are you UK or US? Because that list was US names.

She's Onya Case. but we like to chant she's on ya face when we've had a few too many beers

Don't you learn some wonderful things on mumsnet?

Only 2 1/2 months to sort my co-ordination so I can actually skate then.

Ow, and how about "Her Emmanence"?
