Dropped into Amazon for a quick look and
this came up in my recommendations! WTF? Are they having a laff?

ZinglebertBembledank Wed 18-Aug-10 21:08:10

What on earth have you been buying??!

domesticsluttery Wed 18-Aug-10 21:09:35

Habbibu Wed 18-Aug-10 21:11:09

It's a snip! Trust you've turned off one-click ordering, just in case?

creequealley Wed 18-Aug-10 21:12:36

CatIsSleepy Wed 18-Aug-10 21:14:47

oooh how very odd
is that for real?

FiveGoMadInDorset Wed 18-Aug-10 21:15:18

Dh says for that amount insist you get the elephant thrown in.

wukter Wed 18-Aug-10 21:18:00

"Buy now and get a currant bun absolutely free!"

Love it

starrychime Wed 18-Aug-10 21:18:17

Recent purchases include several historical novels and a tangle tease brush - not related to large animal concealement in any way, honest guv!

CatIsSleepy Wed 18-Aug-10 21:22:06

it looks a bit rubbish though

I mean, I can still see the elephant...

PDR Wed 18-Aug-10 21:24:13

Hillarious!

CheeryCherry Wed 18-Aug-10 21:26:19

Bargain! And free postage and packaging!

Have you bought a screen protector for a mobile phone or other gadget recently? IIRC that's what Proporta mostly sell.

TonariNoTotoro Wed 18-Aug-10 21:29:31

Brilliant!

mablemurple Wed 18-Aug-10 21:30:36

You can buy crisps from Amazon?? confused

Hassled Wed 18-Aug-10 21:31:55

at "I can still see the elephant"

starrychime Wed 18-Aug-10 21:32:39

Can't decide between this and the guitar for 10 million quid in the Customers also viewed section!! confused

Furball Wed 18-Aug-10 21:33:26

maybe you looked at these? and they thought you might be interested in the camouflage

TheCrackFox Wed 18-Aug-10 21:38:44

Thank goodness for this thread as I have been feeling, recently, that my elephant sticks out like a sore thumb....if only there was a way to make him blend in with his surroundings...at last an answer to my prayers.

Am very tempted.
Do you think it would also work on my rhinocerous? It's very visible.

stressheaderic Wed 18-Aug-10 21:41:46

That is most strange. Funny though!

I don't know what the world's coming to these days. This is a blatant pitch for the lucrative Christmas elephant camouflage market, and it's only August, for goodness' sake! I remember when you didn't see elephant camouflage sets advertised until after Halloween at the earliest, but things get earlier and earlier each year.

starrychime Wed 18-Aug-10 21:42:48

I actually did think (for a nanosecond) it might be something to do with the technology they've been talking about where they're making 'light-bending' materials to try and disguise tanks etc blush

MrsSnaplegs Wed 18-Aug-10 21:47:44

Well I'm not getting it as it's not on Amazon Prime and I'm not covering the postage on thatgrin

TheCrackFox Wed 18-Aug-10 21:50:43

I would like to live in your world starrychime. grin

pepperrabbit Wed 18-Aug-10 21:52:45

I love the idea of a "crouching tiger heavy rain scenario" in the description.
That happens loads in our veg patch....

TrinityRhino Wed 18-Aug-10 21:54:15

thats sooo funny grin

starrychime Wed 18-Aug-10 21:55:03

Oooh, someone's added a review - was it one of you lot?

xkaylax Wed 18-Aug-10 21:55:30

gringringrin

Two reviews now...

Four reviews...

Shaz10 Wed 18-Aug-10 22:08:47

It must be time to resurrect the Paul Ross Canvas...

Habbibu Wed 18-Aug-10 22:11:23

Ooh, yes - in fact, why can't you camouflage your elephant as Paul Ross...

TheCrackFox Wed 18-Aug-10 22:12:23

Oh, please do not resurrect Paul Ross - I lost an entire afternoon on that one. grin

You scarcely need a product to do that, though. Obviously. Shirt, jacket, you're done. Possibly a wig if you want it to pass close examination.

Shaz10 Wed 18-Aug-10 22:13:50

Professor, do you mean like this one?

starrychime Wed 18-Aug-10 22:14:10

Uh oh, now you are all probably going to be getting loads of wierd 'Based on your browsing history we think you might be interested in...' items!

I think there's a mistake, Shaz -- you seem to have linked me to another picture of Paul Ross there?

TonariNoTotoro Wed 18-Aug-10 22:20:55

<finger hovers over "Sign in to turn on 1-Click ordering"...>

TonariNoTotoro Wed 18-Aug-10 22:26:43

well, it is free shipping.. bargain!

TonariNoTotoro Wed 18-Aug-10 22:28:14

"people who bought Walkers Roast Chicken Crisps also bought 'Puccini, Definitive Collection'"

grin

starrychime Wed 18-Aug-10 22:35:21

I prefer Pickled Onion with my Puccini, yum!

"customers who viewed this also viewed" this penis pump.

The mind <ahem> boggles....

BuzzingNoise Thu 19-Aug-10 14:56:12

I've been looking for one of those.

BuzzingNoise Thu 19-Aug-10 14:57:33

I mean the elephant thing, not the penis pump!

Miggsie Thu 19-Aug-10 14:59:57

I have noticed that the recommendations I have had lately have been mank...really not the slightest bit interesting for me.

I like medieval history, I buy loads of books, they should have twigged that by now, so when I bought a camera the immediate recommendation was: a book of naked women with shaven pubes.

WTF?!

Eight reviews now -- are they all from Mumsnetters?

Furball Thu 19-Aug-10 16:37:57

oh bugger - I clicked the penis pump link - dh and I share the amazon account, it will come up with 'items you recently viewed' - it's not like I can say 'I was looking for a friend' - winkgrin

"Well, DH, you have a birthday coming up / Christmas is only a few months off now and I was just browsing for ideas..."

GrendelsMum Fri 20-Aug-10 19:46:45

That is brilliant. Are the reviews all from Mumsnetters?

Lynli Sun 22-Aug-10 01:20:08

My suggested product is a book called Shaven Havens.

I prviously purchased level 3 hairdressing for DD1
