Does anyone know anything about this nursery?

I am going to visit it on Thursday. I need a space for April for dd who will be nearly 11mths then. I already have her down at 2 other nurseries but both said it will be hard for her to get a place on a Wednesday so I thought it would be a good idea to start putting her name down at other places.

I looked at it but didn't like the building or the really ugly outside space. I was also not happy that they told me they would only take the babies out for walks once every 2 weeks (which was normally to the shops). Saying that, I have a friend whose daughter has been in the baby room and who was happy with the care she received.

Thanks Finchley. I really want a place at Rocking Horse or Magic but they don't know if they will be able to give me Wed and I need Wed and Thur. I am feeling very stressed out at the moment.

Ah pud don't be stressed, sending you and babypud big hugs. I shall ask around for you. Can I recommend you ask mummies at playgroups, its a great way to get local information and make friends.

Thanks Pickcherries. MIL is having her on the Friday. At the moment, she works Mon-Wed. She could possibly change her day off to a Wednesday. However, I am a teacher and staff meetings are on a Wednesday and don't end until 5.30pm. MIL lives about 45/50mins away from school in rush hr traffic so it would be much better if I she had dd on a Friday as I can leave school at 3.15pm on Friday and get there by 4pm -I wouldn't get there until almost 6.30pm on a Wed then another 30 mins to get from there to my house -dd goes to bed at 7pm and gets hysterical with overtiredness if she doesn't go to bed when she needs to. If I can get her from nursery, then we can be home by 6ish.

Living in London can be a such a nightmare at times.

If push comes to shrove (sp!) Can you do this agreement until a weds comes available? I would ring the rocking horse and ask!

I am going to call RH and Magic tomorrow and ask if they have any more idea about spaces and suggest what you said.

I went to look at the Pentland one today. The staff were lovely, the kids looked happy but it was quite run down. Also, more expensive (as I would have to pay extra to leave her there at 8am) and you have to provide own nappies and milk. I would send here there if I had to as the staff were so lovely and seemed really caring. They have Wed and Thur available but want £100 deposit. I might see if I can persuade DH to pay the £100 and reserve a space just in case.

aww u got such a hard decision to make £100 seems quite lot for just a deposit to be honest how much was it at the other 2? and why do you have to pay extra to leave her there at 8am?

It doesn't officially open until 8.30am but they will open early/later for £8 per hr. I need to be in school by 8.15am at latest.

I have decided that we are going to pay the £100 to reserve the space. It's a lot of money but I am just thinking how stressed I will be if she can't get a place at RH or magic. At least she will definitely have somewhere to go!

Am going to call the others in a minute just to ask but I reckon they won't be able to tell me anything yet.

Were they able to tel you anything?

No, can't tell me anything until sometime next month they reckon. I have sent my money off to Pentlands so at least I have a place. The more I think about it, the more I actually liked it. It may be a bit run down and the outside area wasn't great but the staff were lovely and the interaction with the children was really good. That is more important really. Anyway, will see what happens...

Persevere with RH. My daughter just started and I'm really impressed with them.
