Suncream policy - Not waterproof "for the safety of the children"

Can anyone tell my why this might be?

I have been using E45 suncream on DS1 as it doesn't seem to cause his eczema to flare up, but it is waterproof and the new nursery policy says water resistant ones only.

am a little confused isn't water proof and water resistant the same thing more or less? If i'm missing something excuse me have pregnancy brain!

I thought maybe I was missing something. Policy states no waterproof sun cream for safety of children - water resistant ok.

I would go and explain to nursery. You need to use that one if it is the better one for his skin.

Oh I just did a random google - it appears that their is a slim chance of a child going blind if they get waterproof suncream in their eye as it won't rinse out.

I think I will definitely question this policy with them.
