Ds will have to go to the nursery close to his CM, as no-one can get him to school otherwise.
I sent his application form off with our council tax bill which they asked for as proof of address. I also sent copies of my CM's council tax bill and her registration which shows her living just round the corner from the school.

They have phoned me today and said its unlikely he will get a place on proximity to school (about 4 miles). They said they will not take into account his chidcare provider.

If he doesnt get a place then I shall be appealing to the council and also want to contact my MP (although I have no idea how to do this). As a working parent I dont see why my child should be deprived a year of free nursery education

Any tips, advice, or contacting MP info would be great thanks

are you talking about school being 4 miles from your home or from cm?

4 miles from my home, but only round the corner from CM's house, and is where her children go to school

is it your nearest school? or are we talking a pre-school nursery attatched to a school?
(for 3-4 year olds)

cos if it is your nearest nursery/school and is that distance away then surely they should be (providing a mileage allowance-for nursery age or school transport for school age children

but if it's not the nearest to your home then you will have a battle on your hands[sadly]

no it is not the nearest school. I cannot get him to the nearest school because dh leaves for work at 6.30am and my shifts will start at 7.30, I will be working a max of 3 days (often 1 or 2 week days). I have asked that if i send him to a school closer to home that I can only take him on the days im not working (e.g. 2, 3 or 4 days a week) but they say I cant do that either I must take hm every day.

Its a non starter every way i turn
