I am a manager of a commitee run nursery but haven't been overlly impressed by the way it is run on the commmitee side. I spoke to my accountant as I have been considering taking it over and making it my business but i need all your advice and expertise regarding what do I do about OFSTED and over areas?
ALl your opinions would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Bambino.

I'm the owner of a daycare nursery but have had extensive experience of being on the comittee of our local PS when our kids went there. Committees can be a pain(well-meaning but hard work) but I think you need to work with them by firmly stating what you all need & are required to do by OFSTED and showing you expect them to support you & respect & rely on you to make the right decisions with their support.

If you ARE considering going private with it go carefully as you don't want to allienate your future clients!! Have you put out feelers to see if this would be possible/welcomed? The last thing you want is to be in competition with your previous employers!

You should have an Early Years Advisor (or now called a Birth to Fives support service)in your area that you could talk to confidentialy to find out where you can start for your area.

Good luck!

PS 'scuse the spelling for me too- it's late & I'm knackered!!
