Just asked my DDs keyworker to babysit for us on Saturday night. She's offered before but I've never taken her up on it.
I have never had to pay a babysitter - how much should I pay per hour? I'm in Cheadle Hulme in Cheshire.
Thanks v much x

maybe call local agencies and ask them the gong rate, alternatively ask her what her rate is - she may already have one

I don't know the cost, but my sister does this with the girls that work at her dd/ds's nursery and from what I can recall it is fairly cheap.

i pay £5 an hour for babysitters, rounded to the nearest half hour.

if it's a really long time (e.g. overnight) would negotiate a fixed sum a little lower as they will be off duty for a while.

You may want to double check how much she actually charges - because she may charge more than what you are considering paying!

I know several girls at my local nursery (where I used to work) unualifieds earn between £6 and £7 p/hr and qualifieds can get upto £10 an hour This is in Colchester

You should also really take into account what the legal minnimum wage is

I always took 5 pound hour in cornwall, plus some extra for petrol if over 10 miles from home.
