at nursery, and it was utter chaos this morning!

Normally my mum looks after ds2 while i take ds1 but she is on holiday so i had to carry them both in, and then ds1 was crying because he wanted to go into his old room which is right next door to the new one.

I wanted to take him home, it was terrible leaving him crying like that. It felt like the first day again.

Plus, I'm missing my mum. She normally comes round every day. Ok I'm rambling, but just wanted to get it off my chest. Christ, I sound like a child.

powder, my ds did that when he went up to the 'big room' from the 'toddler room', despite the nursery doing lots of settling visits etc.

It's change, you see. We all hate it. Ds was fine after about 2 weeks. Came out yesterday saying "Mummy, I really really lurrve nursery". It's horrible when they cry, and worse if you're carrying an even littler one, and worse still if you are missing your mum. She'll be back soon. Feet up, if you can, and have a cuppa.

Thanks Gladbag, you are so right about having to carry the younger one. I will pull myself together now and go into town.

Keeping busy is good. Is your ds there all day, or just the morning session? Have a word with the nursery staff when you pick him up, and see if they can do something special for him when he next arrives (have his favourite toy out, whisk him off with the offer of a special helping job or something). It might help with the tears.

I hope he's settled ok, and that you have a good morning.

Im picking him up at 1 so it's only the morning. He only does two mornings a week.
It's just so much harder without my mum helping me. I suppose I take her for granted quite a lot. I think I will buy her a big bunch of flowers when she comes back off holiday.
