Starting nursery

Our DS will be starting nursery three days per week in a couple of weeks time. He will be fifteen months old when he starts.

He's had quite an intensive family experience so far - we co-sleep, have both worked from home for the last 12 months, and there has been a lot of grandparent involvement (Mediterranean grandparents !!).

So far he's been waited on by 2-3 people at any given moment and so I suspect that nursery is going to come as a bit of a surprise. As he's only flying into the UK ten days before my wife starts work, the nursery's settling in period is also having to be abbreviated.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to how many children love/hate nursery and how to make this easier?

Most children love nursery. Try and get as many short settling in sessions during the week before he starts as you can. He will soon work out the differences between home and nursery.

My daughter will be starting nursery at the start of Feb. She's 17 months she'll only be going for 1 morning a week as I just need a break with having her and a 6 year old too. We have been going for 10 mins a day to start with, then we're going to up the time because she gets upset when I leave. She just needs to understand that I will be going back to pick her up. I would advise that you also try this the week before because it will be a shock to your child to be left.
