Bilingual nurseries (Greek/English) in London

Hello everyone. We are moving from Cyprus to London in October, I have two kids, my daughter turns 4 in Sept. and my son 1 in Aug. My daughter only speaks Greek so I am looking for a bilingual nursery, so that she can learn English but at the same time not be traumatised by being in an environment where nobody understands her. Can anyone help? Thank you.

London's a big place! Where abouts are you going to be based?

This might help - I didn't look at the links to see if the schools have nurseries but I'm sure if you contact them they will know a lot more than me!

You might have more luck finding a childminder who speaks Greek?

There are a couple of Greek schools around (Greek language and/or Greek Orthodox faith based iirc) - they might have links with 'feeder' schools and nurseries.

However - as someone that emigrated at an older age - and was parachuted into UK school without much more than a wave towards my desk - I think you are over-thinking the potential trauma of the move. At 4 many kids aren't that verbal in any case - and she'll understand almost everything from context, gestures, cues and props.

We had a non English speaking child who started at DD's preschool and it was amazing how quickly she started speaking and understanding English, with the help of a few visual clues.
