Change of key worker and lack of contact from nursery

DS is 8 months and has been at nursery fulltime for two weeks. The lovely lady who we were told was his key worker has left a week ago; only found out today as I asked where she was (normally DH does pick up and drop off for logistical reasons). I understand people change jobs (apparently she's gone to a similar establishment but closer to her home) but am a bit perturbed that there was no contact about it.

The daily report on DS is on a sheet of paper too, so no continuity/ point of reference if different staff look after him until a replacement is appointed. The nursery manager said she will be in charge of the baby room until that happens but
I'm not happy....

What would you think of this? I feel so new to being a nursery parent and not sure what's normal. The key issue is that DS seems happy and eating, sleeping and drinking well there but i want to make sure that he gets the best care.

I think you often find a staff turnover in nurseries - lots of fairly young staff, who move for all sorts of reasons.

Our nursery used to provide a regular newsletter, but tbh I just used to chat with the staff. I think I was quite unusual as I made sure I knew everyone's names, their jobs etc.

(10 years down the line, I am facebook friends with several of their keyworkers from nursery days,)

Just ask them to keep you informed. You'll get a gut feeling if is ok.
