I am a little unsure of what to do, when dropping my daughter off today another child approached me as I was kneeling on the floor and I noticed she had the spray in her mouth - spray pointing in.
The main key worker was in the back room changing a nappy, the other main member of staff normally in was off sick so there was another girl I haven't seen before. She was sitting on the other side of the room not really doing anything. I work with children and I just said to the child 'I don't think you really want that do you?' and gently took it out of her hands, this was more a natural reaction and I did it without really thinking. I then passed it to the girl in the room. I have been pondering it all afternoon at work and re-thinking whether I did the right thing, should I have made the girl known to the key worker, should I have just let them deal with it? I am a worrier and would have hated to have my daughter be in that situation.
Nothing was said when I went to pick up tonight so do I just let it go as one of those things that happens? Any thoughts welcome...
