Reception report

Hi there! I'm new to this group so please bare with me. I got my sons school report it was fantastic, he is 5 and in reception. Do you think us parents expect too much? He got all 2's which is expected but no exceeding, which I thought he may get one or two as he has a very good vocabulary and reads well, as I've witnessed and what teachers have told me, so should I not ask this silly question or is it very difficult to achieve exceeding, 3 on all areas or some?

I think it's more about being able to show development whilst they move through the years at the school. If they exceed now then the development won't be as impressive ;0)
