I recently had to phone my bank and couldn't believe how long it actually took me to get to an advisor! I hate speaking to an answering machine at the best of times never mind one that asks you questions....coffeebreakblogger.com/2015/03/24/moody-mummy/

Easy, I just walk into the branch. TSB, Nationwide, HSBC all have staff to talk to in branch. Found it very easy to get advice about ISA rates and how to apply for one, though actual applying seems easiest via online banking.

First direct. They always answer the phone within a few rings. An actual person, not an automated menu. I'll never change banks because of this.
