General Lifespan for Cloth Nappies

My Tots Bots are now almost 2 years into their third bum (so about 7years worth of use) and I'm finding that even with a booster I'm getting lots of soaking through and leaks within two hours.

Is it possible that they've come to the end of their life - some of them do look a bit threadbare - or am I just not changing often enough....?

Is there anyway to boost absorbancy - other than adding boosters to the nappies?

Heavy use by 3 children sounds pretty darn good going, Kooshies, anyone remember them? some nappies barely get thru one child before falling apart. The elastic may be going around the edges & that's where the leaks go. Terries can last better than other nappies in this respect, because the only way they have to wear out is going thin, they don't have poppers-elastic-velcro-gathered corners that wear out.

Hadn't thought about the elastic on the covers going. So potentially investing in some new wraps might see me through the last 9 months or so.

Thanks for the suggestion, will have a browse!

Are the nappies themselves completely soaked through when you take them off? If so they are "full" and not as absorbent as they once might have been / your DC is weeing much more than previously. Or if you think the nappy still has some capacity left then it may be a leaky wrap issue.

No definitely 'full' - though it's been better this week as she's not been mainlining apple juice!

Prob not as absorbent as they were - they are getting on - will just have to muddle through and see how far we get.

Thanks for the suggestions

Maybe you could use extra boosters. I use tots bots too. Pleased to hear how long they have lasted for you. I expected them to only last for one child.
