Hi, we are working our way through brands and sizes of disposable nappy each night. Our 1 year old wakes up soaking wet every morning with an overflowing nappy. It was wakening him at 4am but 2 blankets over his sleeping bag are keeping the chill out. We have already reduced the amount of milk he gets before bed.
Can anyone suggest a brand that's great for holding volumes of liquid.

Are you changing him during the night?

I would say you still need to change him if he's that wet.

If he wakes up we change him but wouldn't waken him to do it.

We use pampers baby dry 5+ for our 1yr old at night (active fit 5 during the day). Does the trick for dd (she sleeps curled up like a ladybird on her front and used to get soaked up the front of her clothes)

Oh had another idea, you could double nappy at night - use a bigger size over the top of your usual nappy?

Double nappy might be the way to go... Off tomorrow to buy the next size up! Good idea.

You could try getting him to wee in a potty before bedtime to get some of the wee out first - make a sound like "sss" & pref in front of daddy so he can copy. It might take a few tries to work or he might not get itm, but if he gets the hang of it it could reduce the leakage. Also if it works you can do it in the night if he wakes or try a "sleep wee" - take him to the potty whilst only just rousing him enough to try a wee. Sounds worrying but they do go back to sleep instantly (as long as not fully woken).

Apparently reusable nappies are much better at absorbing than disposables. Or maybe you could add a reusable liner (think they're made of fleece?) into a disposable nappy?

You could try getting some fleece soakers, these are normally used at night to go over a cloth nappy. Google Pumpkin Pants to see what I mean. Fleece is not absorbent so the soaker will keep wetness inside as long as there's something to absorb it - so you'd also need to put a cloth nappy insert/booster in between the disposable and the soaker. A terry square or even an old flannel or two should work.

Second buying Tescos and in a size up, if you change before you go to bed then should get through until morning.
