...is it just me, or are these nappies terrible and leak all the time?!

I had a pack of huggies, which seemed fine, and then bought a pack of pampers, but poor DS has been having leaks nearly everyday with the pampers...just wondering if it is something anyone else has noticed and if huggies are better?

Different nappies are better on different babies and different sizes vary too, ring pampers and complain, I complained about baby dry ones and they sent me £28 in vouchers! I hate huggies they always leak, tesco newborn ones were good for ds.

In my experience Huggies were awful and telco own brand were best, I never tried pampers. I guess it depends on the size and shape of your child really. Anecdotally, boys seem better suited to Huggies and girls to Pampers.

Interesting...huggies do seem better to me, but might try tesco own brand as it seems everyone prefers those.
Tempted to write to pampers - but that would mean vouchers for more pampers!!

Just ring them there's a number in the pack, you might find the next size up fit better. Or you could buy wipes.

I find buggies better for poo because they have a but at the back which stops it coming out. Pampers keep her dry though. Not sure what the answer is!

cloth nappies is the answer IMO

I have a 3m baby who has been in cloth since 1 day old.... in her entire life we have had 3 (small) leaks ever. (exclusively BF with explosive BF poo). Only 1 poo has ever made it beyond her vest

So long as you have a decent cloth nappy with a good wrap they are far more reliable than disposables. (though rubbish cloth nappies are far worse)

It also means i wash nappies that have poo on, not clothes with poo on, so we have no clothes ruined by BF poo stains either, and also that poo isnt washed with clothes.

We had Huggies for DD and she leaked every time.
We have just bought some Pampers (newborn size 1) and we've been using them for 2 days, so about 12-14 nappies so far, and she hasn't leaked once.

(we're only using the disposables till we can get some nappy liners for the cloth nappies we're intending to use. Anecdotally, we did use a couple of the cloth nappies with flannels thinking we'd get some liners {evidentally not in this bloody useless town, though}, and they didn't leak at all)

nickel.... if your baby is BF you dont need nappy liners... BF poo washes out so easily.

if you have an old fleece throw / blanket / jumper cut it up and there you have nappy liners.

I had this problem with pampers after using Huggies from birth. You need to make sure the back is as high as possible and that baby is inside the inner lining, ie bum is not on top of those bits. Frilly bits on leg need to be on outside properly. Hope that helps - sorry if not making sense but been up with DD all night

yup, trust me, Mine are washing now

I do a rinse first with "extra rinse" then wash as normal (60, intensive extra rinse) with the teeniest amount of powder and a scoop of mio fresh, and they are clean and sparkling and fresh every time.

(they actually seem clean after the rinse!)

I dont use liners with my nappies that are made of fleece, and i use fleece liners on the bamboo nappies.

ah, okay, we were rinsing in the sink, then putting them in the machine.
I'll do a rinse wash first.

our nappies are terry, i think - they're like towelling on the outside and flat on the inside.
