It was with someone called Matt, i also had my first kiss (a peck on the lips under the mistletoe) he asked me out, i said yes, but i avoided him I was 12 - the music : Stevie Wonder, i just called to say i love you. Twenty years later, i went to see DP at one of his jobs he was doing with a mate - it was him - i didnt realise at the time but soon did Its all cool though

It was with James, who I had had a crush on for ages, to Lady by Kenny Rogers. I was the happiest 13 yr old on earth for about 20 minutes until I found out he had asked me to dance as a bet.

After that I mostly hid in bathrooms when the slow dances came on.

Oh god.... Nights in White Satin. Which really ages me, doesn't it? I don't remember his name (did I ever know?) but I do remember french kissing him and wondering if I should shut my eyes.

Nobody ever wanted to dance with me, being the geek in braces, permanently clutching a novel I'm not surprised.

When dh- then dp- found out this fact on Christmas day he put on 'Gene Pitney- Something's Gotten Hold of my Heart' (we were at the ILs' in my defence, only music available) and we danced in front of the open fire.

The dance was with Craig. I was 12. The song was Say You, Say Me - Lionel Richie. It was new year's eve 1985/6. I'd had a crush on him since 1981. After the dance we walked next to a dam together (we were at a sailing regatta) and at midnight, he kissed me (no tongue). I died and went to heaven right there.

i was 13 and wearing a dreadfully unflattering pale yellow batwing dress with black mock croc stilettos. it was the fishing club dinner. no idea re song but it was ghastly. so was he.

Oh god, my first snog at a disco was with Michael Burke (not the newsreader). I can't remember the song but I was wearing

A frilly white blouse

a sparkly fringed scarf round my neck

burgundy legwarmers

So basically, what you can buy in Primark at the moment.

My first proper slow dance was to 'Broken Wings' by Mister Mister and I snogged a boy called Rob. Who I wanted to marry. And who never spoke to me again.

Mine was with Stephen (not Steven - I wrote his name many times on my pencil case ) and to Careless Whisper.

I had a powder blue jumpsuit on, it had a thin plastic belt and tiny little buttons up the front. God I loved that jumpsuit
