Music

Music that makes you cry when you just think about it, let alone listen to it?

Mine is the theme tune to the 70s tv series Black Beauty. The closing credits with the black horse galloping through the wheat field.

Sheesh, I am getting all silly just typing that.

I would definitely cry if I were to see/hear it.

Black Beauty makes me personally think of Alan Partridge but thats cos I am an AP nut!

For me it's Brahms 4 and 2 (played them in youth orchestra... Happy days), the third movement of Shostakovich's 5th Symphony, Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, John Denver songs (childhood memories), Stravinsky's Firebird and Respighi's The Pines of Rome... Oh and the music from ET!Smile

Geraldine by Glasvegas. I have no idea why, it made me cry the first time I heard it, it's not like the lyrics resonate or anything.

Song to the Siren by Cocteau Twins, played it a lot when a friend died, now can't hear it without ending up in big throaty sobs.

There's a song by The National called 'I should live in salt' which reminds me of the last week of my lovely old boy cats life back in June. I still can't listen to it!

mrsjay that LL version of Run gets me every time Sad

Adeles version of Feel My Love makes me sob as it reminds me of my best friend who passed away. I used to take the piss out of her for being a big fan. Now I listen to her every time she is on the radio.

You Raise Me Up - my grandma loved it, she danced to it at my wedding and we played it at my funeral.

Anchorage, Michelle Shocked.

Cried when all my friends had kids and I was still chasing my career. Cried even more when I became a mum myself.
