God, I'd forgotten how good they were. Suddenly I'm 14 again and I still know all the words!

took me back too! Lovely to see Gifford & Tilbrook together at the end and how gracious they were to each other.
Also, great to see lovely Elvis Costello [swoon].

oh me too! I grew up with them all. Up The Junction, Cool For Cats, Goodbye Girl.

Often have them on on the train to work i-pod. No particular 'pattern' or style of song. Just good tunes and fab lyrics.

They remind me of pulp - storytelling I suppose. I'm amazed at what good taste I had in music 25 years ago.
And isn't it lovely how appreciative they are of what each other brought to the band.

Labelled With Love - for years I took 'poodles' in China as a verb. So wondered why the hell she was going over to China to 'poodle'. Blush

I went to see them at de Montfort hall in leics and elvis Costello at Albert hall (?) on his spike tour.
The Tilbrook goatee is BAD news.

staines well jealous of Spike tour! That would have been 1987-88? Have Spike on a cassette tape, and WILL NOT upgrade to a cd. It would just be wrong.

goatee is an abomination. Itching with a razor in hand. Nice shiney cheeks though.

Maybe 88-89? Was definitely spike. I particularly remember tramp the dirt down. He was so vitriolic. It was awesome.

Just found this thread - has anyone been to see them on this tour?

I saw them at Shepherds Bush last week & they were incredible! You could buy the CD of the show straight after & I haven't stopped listening to it Xmas Grin

I saw Tilbrook at the Sage Gateshead, he's a genius! I wasn't much of a Squeeze fan but dp is. I am now though.

Ooh isn't he just CuriousMama!

I love his voice, it hasn't lost anything over the years Xmas Smile

The band signed the CD afterwards and he was charming!

Ooo I bloody love Squeeze. Saw Glen Tilbrook and the Fluffers a few years ago - they were fantastic, then Squeeze when Chris Difford joined them again.

Tbh in terms of a brilliant night out, the first gig was actually even better, so much fun. DD now loves Squeeze too Smile

"I want to be good is that not enough?"
Another nail in my heart

Labelled with love is one of their best songs.

They were and remain a very underrated band. Good ol You Tube.

ALTOGETHER NOW!!!

Take it to the bridge, throw it overboard, see if it can swim back up to the shore, no one's in the house, everyone is out, all the lights are on and the blinds are down.
