NOW CLOSED: Take our science & children survey - you could win a £250 John Lewis voucher

We've been asked by the Shell Education Service to find out how comfortable parents are talking about science with their children. Perhaps you think you don't know much about science and so put off talking about it for fear of getting it wrong? Perhaps you're Einstein's niece, (did Einstein have a neice?) or a qualified scientist and blind your children with science at every possible opportunity? Or maybe you're somewhere in between

Either way we'd love it if you could take this short survey.

The survey is open to any parent with at least one child. (Please note, Shell employees are not eligible for entry to the prize draw though they can complete the survey).

Apologies if the first three questions are too easy peasy - and if they're not easy for you - remember no cheating!

Everyone who takes part in the survey and adds their details at the end will be entered into a prize draw to win £250.00 of John Lewis vouchers.

Thanks and good luck

I am rubbish at science stuff. I try to be interested and then glaze over.

Oh God! I only got 1 out of the 3 questions correct!

belledechocolatefluffybunny Mon 05-Jul-10 13:09:50

Done. The 'easy peasy' questions were not too bad. smile (I love science) blush

I am rubbish at science. Mine is a 'ask your dad' house!

2 out of 3. And one of those was nothing more than a half-educated guess confused.

throckenholt Mon 05-Jul-10 13:34:16

a great answer to those type of questions is - I'm not sure - lets google it.

My ds wanted to know why water birds stand on one leg - we had great fun googling it.

Often stuff like that, or history, or current affairs questions come up over tea and we often end up adjourning to the pc to find out the answers.

3/3 <<science geek emoticon>> no google thank you!

I have a 10 year old who knows more than me about pretty much anything science/astronomy based, bless him!

belledechocolatefluffybunny Mon 05-Jul-10 14:01:02

I didn't google the answers, I answered them using my 1 brain cell.

Katisha Mon 05-Jul-10 14:40:42

Done. It's Science Central round here what with DH and the DSs all being keen.

mousymouse Mon 05-Jul-10 15:19:19

Science Central here as well
ds asks a lot at the moment and sometimes we have to look things up on the internet because we are not sure or to better show him how things work.
