We'd love folks on MN and Gransnet to please complete a survey about how your driving may or may not changed since you have had children/grandchildren. It is open to All UK Mumsnetters and Gransnetters with at least one child or grandchild who drive a car at least once a week.

Here's the link - www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/H5RZDWY

Everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £250 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

thanks
MNHQ

Some of those questions were a bit odd and needed a "I have never done this" button. I wouldn't check my phone while driving with or without children, and have never smoked nor would I ever have allowed anyone to smoke in my car. having children or not is irrelevant.

I agree, a bit hard to answer some of them. 'How would I rate other road users from 1 to 10'
Well some are a ten and others are a one! I didn't know what to put.

Done but agree re some of the questions. If you agree with the statement but there's no change from pre children (eg smoking in car), what do you put? So I'm not sure mine is logical but it was poorly worded.

Done but accidentally submitted before adding my username. So I guess I won't be entered into the prize draw Sad

Agree that a lot of the questions didn't work for me

Same as above. Answered don't use phone/allow smoking but never did before either. Have always had to have clean licence for jobs.

I'd like an extra option like notmy. I never used phone, smoked or speeded before dc's.

Done, but I agree with most, it's not a great survey.
It seems to start from the premise we are all nervous drivers and that we all had bad habits when driving before we had our dc Hmm Confused

Fair bit of "not applicable". I've never driven much by myself so bit nervous, but children make surprisingly little difference - if they are yelling, they are safe...

I can't fill in this survey honestly... It's stupid. Q4 for example. they could really do with a N/A option.

Done but agree with others about the design of some of the questions as I have never done things like checking my phone or smoking whilst driving. It also had a slightly hysterical feel about it....if you were that anxious about some of those things, I'd wonder if you were fit to be driving at all!Hmm

All done.

Yes it doesn't make much sense, that question about how your driving has changed - the grammar/structure needs attention there or they're going to get confused answers.

Report
Passmethecrisps · 13/12/2015 18:50

But there is a neither agree nor disagree option.

I agree that the survey doe'snt look great on a phone screen

Report
StoptheRavelry · 13/12/2015 18:55

No, I mean I could just tick neither agree nor disagree for all of the sentences on that question, but I'd like to be more helpful than that. It's a case of the question itself not being clear.

Is it 'do you do this more now that you are a parent' or 'how often/much do you do this?'

Done, but agree that the survey is particularly badly written. I'm not even sure that my answers reflect what I meant them to!
