Some of you may have seen a survey we sent out to our MN Panel recently about online and on demand TV. Thanks very much to everyone who has filled it out so far! Thanks

We'd love to know what you all think as well! It shouldn't take longer than 5-10 minutes to complete and is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

Click here to complete the survey.

Everyone who completes the survey and adds their details will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Done, but nowhere (that I saw) was there scope to say why I don't use more online/on demand media services. The answer is simple but pretty fundamental. Using what passes for broadband here and in many other rural parts of the UK, it would take all night to download one programme, always supposing that we weren't trying to do anything else at the same time. All of these services assume effectively unlimited bandwidth, which is something that some of us can only dream of.

We have fast broadband, but no internet connection to the TV which makes it less worthwhile signing up to streaming services. I do watch some things on the computer/iPad, but the screen is a bit small to do a lot of that.

I did a 1-month Netflix trial last year just to watch the first series of House of Cards, but there wasn't enough on there to tempt me to continue.

Done. Clearly it's a netflix survey. Netflix is OK but I'm getting a bit fed up of how hard they're being plugged on MN. It's starting to feel a bit spammy.

If anybody's looking for something to watch on there, Rita is quite good if you can handle subtitles.

Some confusion over requirement for "Unliited" broadband for streaming. The "unlimited" bit refers to how much you can download per month - not the "rate" or "bandwidth" that you get.
We live in rural Scotland (Highlands) and get 3-4 mbps which is typical of a rural area and have ONLY used streamed tv (iPlayer, ITV Player, 4OD etc and Love Film streamed) for 6 years now - 95% of the time we can get streamed progs perfectly.
"Unlimited" deals are availalble from all broadband suppliers and are NOT expensive - Plusnet gets only rave reviews from me - and the many others I know who joine dthem (no connection other than being a happy customer).

Mikey - confusion from whom? Not from me. We have unlimited broadband 2 into the house. The limitation is the speed and that is very real, and yes I do* know what I am talking about.

Just checked - what I said was "effectively unlimited bandwidth" not "unlimited broadband" Hmm - thanks for the condescending lesson, though.

Oooch - sorry - just re-read your post -actually very clear on second reading. Apols if appeared condescending (ouch) - wasn't my aim -will try harder.
I could understand if people didn't get it - though-obviously you do!!
