MNers needed to be part of a special panel for Flora - prizes to be won for participating NOW CLOSED

AngelieMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 31-Mar-14 11:15:12

You may have seen that we've been working with Flora over the last few months, and now we’re recruiting more MNers to join the Flora panel.

We're specifically looking for UK Mumsnetters who are able to take part in a few activities over the next year. This year, the activities will include product tests, surveys and an event day, amongst other things. We've learnt from the previous panel activities and this project will be managed closely by the insight team here at MNHQ.

If you are selected for the panel you will be emailed a link to each activity, and each time there will be a prize draw incentive for one lucky winner. You won't need to or necessarily be asked to take part in every activity but each panel member will be asked to do at least one activity.

This panel is open to all UK MNers with at least one child living at home. It doesn't matter if you currently buy Flora or not - we want the opinions of all!

If you'd like to be on the panel, please sign up here.

We'll be in touch with those selected soon.

Thanks and good luck,

Are we already part of it if we got one of the long-delayed vouchers?

HazeltheMcWitch Tue 01-Apr-14 12:56:48

And if we signed up and didn't get the long-delayed vouchers that some people eventually got? grin

LackaDAISYcal Tue 01-Apr-14 14:26:13

or if you, eventually after months of asking, got an email saying sorry you never got your voucher that we promised you, ah well them's the breaks <paraphrasing>

I'll sit this one out Flora, thanks very much.

AngelieMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 01-Apr-14 16:08:03

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie and HazeltheMcWitch - yes, if you were signed up to the first Flora panel, you should have received an email from me this afternoon checking to see if you would like to continue participating. Please PM me if you haven't had this email smile

LackaDAISYcal - very sorry again for the problem with the vouchers, we'll be trying our best to avoid issues like this in the future smile

I signed up to something and was picked for a free tub of flora voucher taste test months ago but never got it, I had forgotten until this thread.

mamfantastic Thu 10-Apr-14 22:07:36

Yes add me please

MrsCt2B Fri 11-Apr-14 20:02:26

yes pls smile

lish123 Sun 13-Apr-14 09:11:38

I think this is the only email I have gotten to be apart of testing something, I don't I have even been accepted on it. Is it the luck of the draw to be picked to be a tester?

crazykat Sun 13-Apr-14 16:13:59

I'd like to take part but it depends where the event days are and when as transport could be an issue depending on time/location. Do you know roughly when/where the event days would be as I don't want to apply and not be able to go to them.

Kellz92 Mon 14-Apr-14 14:59:16

me pleaseeee smile

I've signed up, but participation in the event days would be dependent on when/where. I'd happily try to make it work, though. smile

clux73 Fri 16-May-14 07:10:44

Slightly astounded by the amount of packaging used for a tub of flora!!!

MrsLoada Fri 16-May-14 16:04:58

Wow what a big box for a tub of flora . Mine arrived today so will be baking tomorrow with it... Cool box might come in handy in the back of my car for keeping shopping cool or for picnics.

Shocked that I received a delivery of flora today, in a massive box, delivered by a courier..
I was expecting a voucher. How much did this cost? Not to mention the co2 emissions. Sorry but this to me is unacceptable.

Mine has arrived too but at least the insulated box has been a car, train carriage and a bed for doggy!! Not sure I'll be able to have more than a little go at baking and a little taste on some bread, as the pot was pretty tiny.

angryangryyoungwoman I don't think you can buy Flora Gold in the shops so I think that's why they had to send out a 'sample'. Alternatively I could have totally made that up, TBH I don't spend a lot of time browsing the spread aisle in the supermarket so it could have been on the market years grin

Thanks purple that does explain it, doesn't justify it though imo!

TheCunkOfPhilomena Sat 17-May-14 10:24:37

Hello, another panel member here.

Did anyone note the ingredients (along with the wasteful packaging)? It has bloody palm oil in it. I normally use butter so wasn't sure what to expect but I am not keen. Have been using it though and baked a little cake yesterday.

mine hasn't come sad filled out all the releveant info but no flora

battlefelton Sun 18-May-14 13:00:56

I received the Flora Gold but can't seem to locate the discussion thread for it.

Is there one?

battlefelton Sun 18-May-14 13:03:17

Sorry, I was reading the posts above and it seemed it was for people who received a voucher.

Are we supposed to post a review of it here? I got a link in an email that I've deleted in a clean-my-inbox frenzy.

arianah2014 Sun 18-May-14 21:00:04

Received my flora gold today(16/05 good packaging will use empty box to store canned foods.tasted it on croissants has a weak taste more a diet spread what do you lot think testers?

TheCunkOfPhilomena Sun 18-May-14 21:24:42

I think it tastes okay (maybe a little synthetic but then it is synthetic) but I don't understand the idea of something trying to taste like butter. If you want butter then buy butter confused I don't like the ingredients used in this (palm oil for example) and so would never buy it.

Uzma01 Mon 19-May-14 13:56:46

I got my tub on Friday too, have tried it in several things but will post feedback on the survey link emailed to me.

FuckyNell Mon 19-May-14 17:39:50

I've not received mine yet sad

me neither Nell

snowymum12 Tue 20-May-14 06:57:04

Delivery was attempted on a day when I'm not in so it went back to the depot rather than being left with a neighbour. I'm not sure I fancy using it now it's been sat in a warehouse. What a shame Flora asked for delivery info and then didn't take it into account.

Bogeyface Wed 21-May-14 20:12:31

Didnt like it.

It is billed as a butter alternative but it isnt. It has that nasty smell that spreads have and doesnt taste any different to other buttery spreads.

I saw it today on offer in Morrisons for £1.50 but full price it is £2.50, butter is nicer and cheaper!

Sorry Flora, fail on that one sad

Bogeyface Wed 21-May-14 20:13:55

And yes I realise that I have probably just got myself struck off the list for the draw grin

still no flora don't think mine is coming

chocolateshoes Wed 21-May-14 20:27:17

Mine hasn't arrived either!

WhenDoISleep Wed 21-May-14 20:27:39

Had an attempted delivery last Thursday but couldn't collect until Saturday (tbh didn't realise what the parcel was, as was expecting a number of things) - having been sat around a v hot warehouse and on and off various vans my sample was liquid and unpleasant and went straight into the bin.

Floralnomad Wed 21-May-14 20:31:56

I got mine ,in the giant box ! I can't say I'm terribly impressed ,if I'm going to use a spread I think I'd rather have the Buttery and unfortunately this tiny tub has arrived on the same week as Tesco gave me a free tub of Kerrygold spreadable ,which is much nicer and the tub was double the size . Incidentally I noticed that Flora Gold is on offer in Tesco at the moment .

Bogeyface Wed 21-May-14 20:43:10

The survey said that it wasnt available in the shops but it clearly is so I dont understand that bit.

polly164 Thu 22-May-14 21:50:33

I have been selected for this panel, done surveys but not received anything.
Not really sure what is happening or what I am supposed to do?

gutted2014 Thu 22-May-14 22:06:20

I finally got my spread today. We haven't tried it yet, but the large polystyrene box that the tiny tub of spread came in made a lovely treasure chest (5-year old DS1 was at home today as school was being used as a polling station, and we were looking for a craft project, the box was perfect ) grin

asuwere Sat 24-May-14 18:28:07

I got my Flora last week and have been trying it but having searched my emails, can't find a survey/feedback thread link - have I missed it or has it not been sent yet?

Uzma01 Sun 25-May-14 12:38:38

Here's the link to the feedback survey.

asuwere Sun 25-May-14 15:37:51

Thank you Usma01 smile

snowymum12 Wed 04-Jun-14 10:06:09

Mine arrived this morning. Thank you. It tastes pretty similar to retail Flora, which isn't unpleasant but not as buttery as I was expecting.

snowymum12 Wed 04-Jun-14 10:07:03

Sorry, autocorrect. *regular Flora.

threepiecesuite Wed 04-Jun-14 13:54:20

Mine came today. Packaging seems wasteful, why not a voucher?
Will report back.

kelandab Wed 04-Jun-14 23:06:54

I am yet to receive mine

threepiecesuite Fri 06-Jun-14 20:45:25

Have to agree with others. I'm not too keen. Don't like the colour, too pale, reminds me of Vitalite. It spreads very easily but is quite shiney and greasy looking. It doesn't taste or smell like butter. Sorry Flora.
