We have been asked by the team at to find three lucky MNers and their families to enjoy a free stay at a Haven park and report back on MN.

Haven say "At Haven you'll find plenty to keep all the family happy and some things we think you might not expect including climbing walls, fencing and archery. We also have some exciting new activities with professional players from the BBL Basketball team teaching ball skills during the school holidays. But when the big kids are at school our parks are just great to take your tots. This year we have some lovely new interactive sessions with the Seaside Squad, our very own fun loving characters. All parks have heated pools many with flumes, water slides, lazy rivers and space bowls and plenty of additional fun like Aquajet Racers and Water Walkerz.

At Haven it's not just about activities... there's plenty of green space to run around and many parks have beautiful nature walks and trails to explore and access to some stunning coastal walks"

For more information:

We're looking for families who are able to visit a park on the following dates – they are not set in stone but are a guide:

w/c 31 March – term time – so a family with pre-school aged children
w/c 4 April – holiday time – so a family with school aged children
w/c 21 April – term time – so a family with pre-school aged children

You can pick the park you’d like to visit: for a full list see:

Selected families will be booked into a Prestige caravan for 4 nights – these sleep up to 6.

You will need to make your own way to the park.

Each family will be also offered a £80 Tesco voucher so they can stock up on food for the caravan before they go, or pay for petrol to get there (there's also a Spar on site to top up any bits you have forgotten about).

Each family will be treated to a meal in the onsite restaurant (maximum £80).

In addition they will receive 12 activity passes, which can be used to book lots of different activities see

In return for this free trip (worth up to £710 Easter break/ £494 March – April break) each MNer will be asked to:

~ Make a video diary of their trip and submit this to Haven. These videos will be edited and will be shown on the forthcoming Haven pages on MN, on as well as possibly elsewhere. They will be hosted on YouTube.
~ Add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet – at least three times. We're looking for feedback before you go, once you're there (you'll need to be able to post whilst you're there – there are WiFi hotspots available) and when you return. Please note tips and comments may well be used by Haven on their (forthcoming) pages on Mumsnet as well as possibly elsewhere (including on social media, in the press etc). Your MN name will not be used.
~ Add photos to the feedback thread (these don't need to show the children/ yourself, eg they could feature the caravan, food, footsteps on the beach etc)
~ Tweet about the stay including photos
~ Add a review on Mumsnet to the Self Catering pages

If you'd like to sign up please add your details here.

We will be in touch with selected testers asap and their details will be passed to the team at Haven so they can make the booking arrangements.

Thanks and good luck!

Llareggub Mon 10-Mar-14 16:05:42

Worth bearing in mind that school holidays vary across the UK. I'm in Wales and the second date you've listed is still term time for us.

Bugger. Completed the survey but we are still in school on the 4th April hmm

MyGastIsFlabbered Mon 10-Mar-14 16:35:52

Darn it, we've just booked our holiday, doubt that we'd want to go twice in a year!

MyGastIsFlabbered Mon 10-Mar-14 16:36:18

We've just booked our Haven holiday my post should say

Done, would love to go away this year, starting my nursing degree in September and think holidays will definitely be on hold for the next three years.

dancemom Mon 10-Mar-14 17:51:52

Done, would love this, dd loves Haven!

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 10-Mar-14 18:03:24

Oh yes don't worry...dates are a guideline. You can add a note about the dates on the form.

RudolphLovesoftplay Mon 10-Mar-14 18:38:02

Signed up!! Fingers crossed

Kneedeepinshittynappies Mon 10-Mar-14 18:38:40

This would be amazing, we had to cancel our haven holiday last year due to chicken pox! Kids were gutted!

LESuffolk Mon 10-Mar-14 18:44:37

Shouldn't you be asking Local Editors to do this? smile.

kazzawazzawoo Mon 10-Mar-14 18:48:40

Done. We would love to do this smile Hope we will find out soon, as I will need to apply for time off work smile

PandaFeet Mon 10-Mar-14 18:51:41

I can't go. But here's a bit of feedback.

The UK includes Northern Ireland. If Haven don't have any parks in Northern Ireland they shouldn't really have "UK" all over their website.

Great Britain. That's the term they need.

Dirtymistress Mon 10-Mar-14 19:00:20

Signed up. We can but daydreamsmile

SweetPeaPods Mon 10-Mar-14 19:04:07

GuineaPigGaiters Mon 10-Mar-14 19:43:24

The only time I've ever been to haven we found a pair of the previous occupants dirty undies under the bed...the staff were less than helpful. Never again...shudder

IwishIwasmoreorganised Mon 10-Mar-14 20:43:31

We can't do any April dates, but for MNHQ reference - not all parts of the UK will have school holidays w/c 4th April. The last day of term here (vale of glamorgan) is Friday 11th April.

CrewElla Mon 10-Mar-14 20:53:01

The survey doesn't seem to be working this evening. I've tried on my phone, iPad mini, & desktop.

pickles184 Mon 10-Mar-14 20:54:04

Done, keeping fingers and toes crossed!

VelmaD Mon 10-Mar-14 21:48:35

Oh, I'd love to go - we love Haven! With two boisterous boys we always find there's tons to keep them amused... grin
<crosses fingers and toes firmly>

nickelbabe Mon 10-Mar-14 23:27:53

oooh, we always went to Haven holidays when I was a child.
that park got taken over by Don Amott, and it was never as good afterwards.

Grockle Mon 10-Mar-14 23:38:07

Has it closed already? I tried to sign up but it says 'website unavailable' sad

nickelbabe Mon 10-Mar-14 23:57:39

i did it about half an hour ago and it was fine.

try again

Solo Tue 11-Mar-14 00:10:30

I don't understand why they class a 15yo as an adult. They aren't adults Haven. Adulthood begins at 18.

nickelbabe Tue 11-Mar-14 00:18:13

that's bad.

StarsAbove Tue 11-Mar-14 00:59:26

Did it work properly if after pressing submit, it takes you to the MN survey page?

Pickofthepops Tue 11-Mar-14 03:02:13

Amazing opportunity, fingers crossed! I used to walk past Devon Cliffs when waking Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton on the south west coastal path. It always had a lovely atmosphere and looked clean and fun. Amazing views.

The spa looks lovely too. Mind you, all the parks I've checked out look great. The website was very impressive too - really easy to find the information and check options.

DS age 6 would love these activities and DH would have faith restored in UK holidays after a week (!) at Brean Sands Pontins last year!!!

Hope I haven't invalidated our entry by mentioning am pregnant and had HG last time. I feel v sick, Haven, but only been ill a few times and I'm v clean.. The sea air will help so muchgrin

BeaWheesht Tue 11-Mar-14 04:49:01

Me me me! I want to go I am often to be found extolling the virtues of haven. Pick me!

herecomesthsun Tue 11-Mar-14 05:16:10

I have just looked at the activity pages and they look very good - I had no idea Haven did all that.

Ledkr Tue 11-Mar-14 07:30:38

Done. We love Haven and I'm often amazed at the snobbery surrounding those type of holidays.

Signed up! Love caravan holidays with the kids and all the fresh air!
Plus I work from home and the kids aren't in school yet so we can go anytime!
Whoopee pick me!

Done. Fingers crossed

ParsleyTheLioness Tue 11-Mar-14 07:40:14

Done, and fingers crossed!

worldgonecrazy Tue 11-Mar-14 08:10:29

I'm with guinepiggaiters you would have to pay me a lot more than that to venture back to Haven.

mumsbe Tue 11-Mar-14 11:46:26

Fingers crossed would be great to treat the kids

reallymissingsleep Tue 11-Mar-14 12:06:22

DurhamDurham Tue 11-Mar-14 14:43:46

Well this IS a good one!!

I ahve been to Haven before and its always been great, my little nephew and niece havent been and I just know they would love it.

Good Luck everyone....may the odds be ever in your favour!!

TallyGrenshall Tue 11-Mar-14 15:01:17

Done smile

DP is such a snob about holiday parks so I would love a chance to show him that they are great for kids.

Fingers crossed!

Entered as be good if Havrn can proove that they have no limits that wheelchair users can enjoy Haven holidays same as any family's.Therr is also a large untapped market of disabled people with familys that want active holidays yo

so far centre parcs only option even hotel rooms only sleep 2 if need adapted room no good when you're a family of 4 as means twice the price jusy because use a wheelchair

LizLemonOut Tue 11-Mar-14 18:41:09

Done! Pick me! Pick meeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! grin

nickelbabe Tue 11-Mar-14 18:46:32

if it sleeps 6, would I be allowed to.invite my sister and her kids too?
I've only just thought of it, so didn't add the form.
they would really love it and dd loves hangjng round with them.
they can pay their own way once there.

When will we find out who is chosen?

mariedavis10 Tue 11-Mar-14 19:43:35

i would love to review something like this x

TheHoneyBadger Thu 13-Mar-14 11:53:33

it's almost painful how much i want this!

i've just started home educating ds recently and it's such a big new chapter for us and i'd love to get away for a while doing something new with him and we could make a real 'project' out of it and get him making the video and helping with feedback.

i haven't won anything in an aaaaaage! please karma fairies watch over us!

poorbuthappy Thu 13-Mar-14 12:08:19

When will we find out HQ???

Spottybra Thu 13-Mar-14 17:14:43

Pickofthepops Fri 14-Mar-14 11:26:59

Twotinygirls Fri 14-Mar-14 13:30:01

fingers, toes, and eveything else crossed. Our last Haven experience was,,,, an experience, but the children loved it and Id love a holiday this easter.

YoureAShoe Fri 14-Mar-14 14:46:56

When will we know? smile

Tortoise Fri 14-Mar-14 16:03:20

Can't stop thinking about this lol. Would amazing to get selected.

NotAQueef Fri 14-Mar-14 16:53:16

Wow this is a great one! Fingers crossed for everyone.
*HQ I've just realised I put my local park as number 1 choice which was a bit daft (as it's about a 20 min drive so not really a holiday). Is there any way I can change the order of my preference?

I really really hope whoever wins this has a lovely time, but I would rather stick pins in my eyes than ever go anywhere near a Haven holiday park again confused Are you all sure you know what you're letting yourselves in for?
What happens if when the winner makes the video and gives the feedback and tells the truth (if their holiday is anything like our experience with Haven that is?) Although I guess that since they've already been, there's not a lot that anyone could do about it...
Ah, ignore me, I'm a grumpy old bat - I hope whoever wins does have a lovely time and it's a nice holiday for you. (And let's face it, if all the parks were as bad as the one we went to, they'd have gone bankrupt long ago, so it has to be better...)

Ledkr Sat 15-Mar-14 04:25:02

Did you enter pom? grin

simonthedog Sat 15-Mar-14 06:32:02

Did this last night, yes please x

Pickofthepops Sat 15-Mar-14 07:14:36

Sounds like a challenge Pom for them to win you round. smile

TheHoneyBadger Sat 15-Mar-14 07:21:38

which park did you go to POM?

nerysw Sat 15-Mar-14 08:50:24

Have my fingers crossed and am hoping that the dates being a guide means we could go a different week as that's not the right date for our school holidays either. It would be fun...

exmrs Sat 15-Mar-14 14:45:20

signed up, does anyone know when they announce who has won?

mummratheevertired Sun 16-Mar-14 00:38:08

oooo this looks good!

Pickofthepops Sun 16-Mar-14 06:07:26

Dear Haven / MNHQ any update please? Would love to go and is no.1 choice for Easter .. Just conscious of need to book in some activity for hols if boo hoo I am not lucky.

Fingers crossed! smile

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 16-Mar-14 13:47:20

Hi - we will close this one tomorrow and hope to inform folks next week sometime!
Will trawl the thread for anyone who needs tweaks to their forms then. Do PM me with any specifics not mentioned on this thread please!

Pickofthepops Sun 16-Mar-14 14:09:18

Thanks Ann smile

kazzawazzawoo Sun 16-Mar-14 17:34:32

Thanks Ann smile Fingers crossed.

TheHoneyBadger Sun 16-Mar-14 18:18:12

everything crossed here. hoping that being available for any of the dates helps.

NonnoMum Sun 16-Mar-14 18:42:30

Just to let you know, the form gave me 7 fields for holidaymakers, which I filled in, but I think the caravan might only sleep 6.

We can easily dump grandma and grandpa and just be a family of 5 for research purposes!!

TheHoneyBadger Sun 16-Mar-14 19:25:36

nonno i only put myself and my son down - i could find more to take if needs be. doubt they'll picking on that basis.

Stockhausen Sun 16-Mar-14 19:37:00

Done, hopefully!

RandallFloyd Sun 16-Mar-14 19:40:21

Does it have to be a 'prestige' caravan?
Only one of the main attractions for me is that I could bring my dog but they're only allowed in the 'standard' ones.

TheCrimsonQueen Sun 16-Mar-14 19:49:06

Done - hope it worked

NonnoMum Sun 16-Mar-14 21:11:11

Ok Honeybadger - if they allow 7, I'll chuck out the oldies and you and your DS can come join us. Hope you like noise/mess/chaos and a game of swingball.

capecath Sun 16-Mar-14 21:25:19

Oo when are we going to hear?? So keen for a holiday. We'll actually be very happy to go to any of the parks in Northern England or Scotland. Pleeeease pick us!!

capecath Sun 16-Mar-14 21:43:26

Ah thanks Ann just seen your last post. Sent you a pm.

YoureAShoe Wed 19-Mar-14 07:23:27

custardcream1000 Wed 19-Mar-14 13:36:19

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 19-Mar-14 16:37:09

I just had an email come through as I was reading this, my heart was in my mouth for a second!

It's ok though, I don't need a free holiday anymore, it was from the US Treasury office letting me know about $1500 they owe me. I'm just off to send them my bank details.

Have a lovely time you lucky, lucky people. Have a sangria for me!

Pickofthepops Wed 19-Mar-14 16:54:17
