We're looking for 500 people to be part of a new panel over the next year; The Chocolate Forum. We're looking for a wide range of people to take part, including Mumsnetters and non Mumsnetters - so if you know someone who might be interested please do pass the link on. It's open to everyone including those with children, without children, grannies and granddads.

We can't say too much at the moment but in brief this will involve working with Kinnerton confectionery and Mumsnet over the next year to help develop ideas for new chocolate products as well as discussing their current ranges (there may also be some taste testing involved too!grin)

If you are selected to be part of the panel you will need to commit to taking part in at least 6 activities between now and September 2014. Some of these projects may have quite a quick turn around and responses will often be needed within one week. Each task will be incentivised with a prize draw.

So if you'd like to be part of The Chocolate Forum please sign up here.

There are quite a few questions on the sign up form as we really need to ensure we recruit a wide range of people so please bear with us. If you're selected your name and address may be passed onto Kinnerton so they can send you items relating to research tasks, however none of your other details will be passed on to anyone.

We'll be in touch with those selected soon.

Thanks and good luck,

Katie @ MNHQ

NB this has already been sent to the MN research panel so if you've already signed up there's no need to sign up again.

The agreement thing says its applicable in England and Wales. I am in NI. I have signed up, but does that mean I will be screened out?

I'm in!

Piffpaffpoff Wed 28-Aug-13 13:58:41

BuskersCat Wed 28-Aug-13 17:43:56

I want in!

lorka Wed 28-Aug-13 19:03:22

Would love to be involved. gringrin

2kidsintow Wed 28-Aug-13 19:27:05

You had me, up to the word Kinnerton.

Then I had flashbacks to Kinnerton advent calendar chocolate.

In the words of the Dragons....

"I'm out!"

Good luck to all those who apply though.

Tee2072 Wed 28-Aug-13 19:29:29

Oh I didn't even notice that wanna when I applied. Damn.

Are we not eligible?

2beornot Wed 28-Aug-13 19:35:43

2kids you and me both. Kinnerton chocolate is so shit I didn't steal a single bit of dd Easter egg.

ArtexMonkey Wed 28-Aug-13 19:38:37

Done. Pmsl at the question about chocolate shelf life grin

Yes, me too. Was hooked up until Kinerton.

Most crappy chocolate in the world.

lunar1 Wed 28-Aug-13 19:55:36

Done, I quite like the Kinnerton chocolate lollies (whenever I can pinch a bit from the boys).

Tee2072 Wed 28-Aug-13 20:06:41

Well maybe we can help them make their chocolate better...

SmileyShazza Wed 28-Aug-13 21:06:45

All completed and submitted.

2kidsintow Thu 29-Aug-13 00:14:55

I sincerely hope you do, Tee. smile And enjoy it at the same time.

BerryLellow Thu 29-Aug-13 15:05:46

Kinnerton is NOT chocolate! grin

Tusty Thu 29-Aug-13 16:55:33

I've applied - although I'm meant to be signed up for product tests, I never receive any notification or emails about them.

Fillybuster Fri 30-Aug-13 16:57:11

I've applied...I'm the only chocolate snob in our household - dh, the 3dcs and our teenage lodger are happy to hoover up all sugar based substances, so they would get a fairly good spread of responses from us and maybe give me a chance to protect my dark chocolate stash

wibblyjelly Sun 01-Sep-13 00:17:20

I've applied in the name of science grin

hunhun007 Sun 01-Sep-13 18:01:56

I like the testing part :-)

Maryz Sun 01-Sep-13 18:04:04

I bet those of us living outside mainland UK don't get to try the products again hmm

SuedeEffectPochette Sun 01-Sep-13 21:38:16

I can't sign up - I click the link and go round in circles!

icecreamcrackers Sun 01-Sep-13 22:15:21

Hope I get in on this one.

Picturesinthefirelight Sun 01-Sep-13 22:19:21

Another one who was all ready to sign up until I read the work Kinnerton - yuk

BigGapMum Mon 02-Sep-13 07:45:09

Well I've signed up. Maybe this will help them improve.

I live near the Kinnerton chocolate factory and not all their chocolate is vile, they make walnut whips, beautiful truffles etc, I particularly liked the fizzy tango chocolate eggs this Easter.

polly164 Mon 02-Sep-13 21:15:34

Would love to take part in this!

Tee2072 Mon 02-Sep-13 21:17:31

No response about being only England/Wales?

elQuintoConyo Mon 02-Sep-13 21:25:08

Oh, flaps! I'm mainland EU. Why aren't there ever opportunities for those of us not north east of the Channel? sad

LynetteScavo Mon 02-Sep-13 21:29:29

I'm not convinced. ThePortlyPinUp

The kinnerton Easter Egg from 1985 is still etched on my taste buds too clearly. A nasty experience.

Maybe I should sign my opinion can be changed. hmm

elQuintoConyo Mon 02-Sep-13 21:33:57

north west never could tell east/west blush

CharlieAlphaKiloEcho Mon 02-Sep-13 21:47:01

I knew heaven would involve chocolate and MN.

EricNorthmansFangbanger Wed 04-Sep-13 00:58:38

The words testing and chocolate had me sold grin

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 04-Sep-13 15:39:54

Hi wannabedomesticgoddess and Tee you're still eligible to apply if you're in NI. The NDA is still covered by English law as one party (Kinnerton) is in England.

So please sign up grin

Registered, really hope I'm successful - I'm one of few that loves Kinnerton chocolate!

Maryz Wed 04-Sep-13 15:55:46

footflapper Fri 06-Sep-13 08:43:07

Haha grin I've signed up to be a chocolate tester!
Hope it doesn't go against me that I don't shop at M & S, closest one is about 20 miles away..

Theimpossiblegirl Fri 06-Sep-13 16:38:26

I can't remember if I ticked M&S now, as I don't usually shop there, but today I did. I went in for some jeggings and came out with a couple of bags of food too.

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 06-Sep-13 16:45:03

Thank you to everyone who has signed up so far smile

We're still looking for people who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Shop in M&S Food
- Live in Northern Ireland
- Don't have any children living at home
- Men

If you know anyone who may be interested please do pass on the link to this thread (it's open to Mumsnetters and non-Mumsnetters).

Theimpossiblegirl Fri 06-Sep-13 17:48:22

You can have impossible DH- does he need to sign up to Mumsnet or can he go through me? (I've already signed up for this). The only problem is that he's not very good at sharing so you'd have to send extra for me & the impossible girls.

RubyRR Fri 06-Sep-13 20:02:52

The sign up link doesn't seem to link to the sign up option.

jadenash2013 Sat 07-Sep-13 09:48:52

I think ive signed up , when I finished the sign up it took me straight back to forum unusual as usually get a message saying completed! oh well will see .

DinoSnores Sat 07-Sep-13 23:00:36

The link doesn't work. My DH was going to sign up but he can't!

I've signed up.

Tee2072 Sun 08-Sep-13 08:02:00

I fit the top two, does that mean I'm in?

Theimpossiblegirl Sun 08-Sep-13 15:39:50

I've signed up DH. He'd better share if he's picked and I'm not.

cocolepew Sun 08-Sep-13 15:50:13

I've signed up„ in N.Ireland and shop at M&S grin

GetStuffezd Mon 09-Sep-13 17:25:37

Every time I click on the link it redirects to the insight team page, is it just me????

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 09-Sep-13 18:15:04

If you get the insight home page (lucky you) then it means you're signed up already - if you want your DH/P / Mum / Dad to sign up on the same device - then please use this link instead thanks

Ah, that makes sense, couldn't remember if I had or not!

zipzap Tue 10-Sep-13 00:18:35

That question 24 - it would have been nice to have had an 'It depends' answer!

Seeing all the chocolates on display this week for Christmas and even a few random creme eggs, then I would expect them to last well past Christmas (or Easter for the eggs).

Luxury chocolates with a creamy filling - wouldn't expect them to last as long. Everyday chocolate bars - maybe three or four months. Things with nuts in - a month or two maximum.

Sorry, not trying to be difficult as my mother would have it! but I think there are times when 'It depends' can probably yield some interesting info that it wasn't possible to stick into the answers on the page, so have stuck it here instead...

PiddlingWeather Tue 10-Sep-13 17:40:47

have signed up, cause I fit the first two criteria smile

ziggiestardust Tue 10-Sep-13 18:45:17

<sigh> I've signed up. How selfless I am...

billybear Tue 10-Sep-13 18:58:28

I know a man who would love to sign up for chocolate forum, but link just goes round and round have you got enough people yet

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 12-Sep-13 09:18:04
