MichelleMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 22-Jul-13 11:10:48

We've been asked by the team at Tesco Direct to find MNers try out the range of Fissler products now available at Tesco and on Tesco Direct.

You may have seen the special deal in store (and via groceries online) at Tesco where - with every £20 you spend on products at Tesco you can collect a sticker, once you have collected 10 stickers customers can get 70% off the RRP of a Fissler product.

We are looking for 16 Mumsnetters to test out 1 pan each, which you'll be able to keep after testing.

Here's what Fissler have to say about their products, "We have a wide range of pots and pans which are all of high quality, and they have recently become available at Tesco Direct. Their reinforced bases ensure optimal heat absorption, distribution and storage, which makes cooking your food evenly easier as well as saving energy. All our products can be used in the oven as well as on the hob, with the exception of induction. They are also easy to clean, and all our pans have a non-stick coating which means that greasing the pan becomes optional. We would love to find out what Mumsnetters think about the different pots and pans in our range!"

There are eight different pots and pans, listed below, which are to be tested out by Mumsnetters. There are two available of each, and the testers will be able to select which they prefer to receive.

20cm non stick frying pan
24cm stockpot with lid
28cm non stick grillpan
20cm casserole with lid
28cm non stick stir fry pan
16cm non stick saucepan
24cm non stick frying pan
28cm non stick frying pan
Please note: before using a Fissler pan for the first time you need to activate the non stick coating - advice will be supplied with the pan.

Testers who are selected will need to add feedback on the pan on a thread on MN as well as posting an anon review on the Tesco website.

We're eager to hear how you find the pan or pot overall, what dishes you create using the product and ease of cleaning.

Everyone who does this will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win £100.

To help you buy additional Fissler pans after test should you wish, those selected will also receive some extra stickers.

More information about the stickers initiative and the currently available pots and pans at Tesco Direct can be found here

If you're interested then please sign up here and get thinking about the kind of recipes you'd like to try out with Fissler grin.

Fingers crossed!! I would be soooooo chuffed to get the chance to take part in this.

florencebabyjo Mon 22-Jul-13 11:40:54

These look great. I give my pots and pans a run for their money so would be good to see if they're as good as they say!

Me too, I need new pans, mine are all knackered

WeAreEternal Mon 22-Jul-13 11:49:11

fingers crossed.

ouryve Mon 22-Jul-13 11:50:18

Poo. My hob's induction.

Groovee Mon 22-Jul-13 12:49:36

I've applied. Not fussed as to what I would get offered as I cook from scratch therefore anything suits me.

dahville Mon 22-Jul-13 12:51:31

I can almost taste the omelette and stir fry and cottage pie and spag bol that will be cooked in my new pan ;-) Fingers crossed.

cornflakegirl Mon 22-Jul-13 13:27:33

I need a new frying pan, so this would be great. My current one has a tendency to burn and stick.

We shop at Tesco so have been getting the vouchers for this. I haven't found much online about what the pans are like, so it would be good to know if they're worth buying at the reduced price.

SisterMatic Mon 22-Jul-13 13:51:10

I never thought I would be so excited about pans! Really hope I get picked for this one!

aristocat Mon 22-Jul-13 14:10:48

I would love to try a new pan. I cook loads.

MissStrawberry Mon 22-Jul-13 15:53:49

I don't know what induction is but think I might have it confused.

sbroadhurst Mon 22-Jul-13 16:10:28

I would love to review. Our pots and pans are all getting old now, trying to cook more meals from scratch for the family and would be able to give them a good test.

Done, and thinking about pans has made me want pancakes for dinner, so the DCs are happy alreadygrin.

TheDeadlyDonkey Mon 22-Jul-13 16:32:09

Done. Please pick me, all our pans are knackered!

5madthings Mon 22-Jul-13 16:36:32

AbuseHamzaMousseCake Mon 22-Jul-13 18:51:22

I cook from scratch so would thoroughly test them. My current ones have served me well but lids have broken handles and bases are blistering so was looking to buy a new set and this is perfect timing for me! grin

blondieminx Mon 22-Jul-13 19:09:21

Oooh have signed up! Thanks MNHQ

Gigaflops Mon 22-Jul-13 19:17:21

Perfect timing - I'm busy cooking my way through Julia Child's cookbook, and my pan is wrecked! This would make sautes so much easier... ;)

bluebump Mon 22-Jul-13 19:21:15

littlemonkeychops Mon 22-Jul-13 19:24:47

fruit pancakes - good test for frying pans

LegoAcupuncture Mon 22-Jul-13 21:04:09

piebald Mon 22-Jul-13 21:25:40

Yes please, i cook a lot and need to buy new pans but cant decide-this could be the answer

Yes please! I have to cook all my Sunday roast veg in one pan. sadgrin

Fraxinus Mon 22-Jul-13 22:42:37

Sorry for being thick, but if you sign up do you get a free pan, or do you have to spend £200 in fresco to get 70% off a pan?

primallass Mon 22-Jul-13 23:04:49

Yes please grin

ChippingInHopHopHop Tue 23-Jul-13 00:09:09

Frax - you would get given a pan to test and be able to keep it at the end.

Done! Hope I am lucky! My Le Creuset frying pan is awful, too heavy and sticks every time

DoItRight Tue 23-Jul-13 08:00:44

I just got the wok, and have used it a couple of times. Its great so far, only needs a little wipe after use. Would recommend.

starfishmummy Tue 23-Jul-13 08:28:57

Done. Please, pretty please pick me!!!!

ChrissieTay Tue 23-Jul-13 09:03:45

I sooooooo hope I am picked as a tester! My hubby took up cooking after having his Stroke and has turned into Gordon Ramsay! Our pans have been used and abused and we could do with trying a new range grin

morethanmama Tue 23-Jul-13 09:11:23

Yes please. Down to mismatch of fairly poor pans that burn everything (or is that me grin)

I would love to try these out as a lot of "non stick" pans reallllly are not sad

Kikibee Tue 23-Jul-13 10:01:54

Pick me pick me, please grin

FoxPass Tue 23-Jul-13 12:10:38

fuzzpig Tue 23-Jul-13 12:32:58

Yes please!

daimbardiva Tue 23-Jul-13 12:57:33

I'm really disappointed that the saucepan doesn't have a lid! I mean, you always need a lid at some point, don't you?

FeegleFion Tue 23-Jul-13 13:23:10

grin Exciting! I love food.

I'd love to test out these pots, I bought cookware on offer in Tesco before and it's incredibly good, but it was from a different company, it'll be interesting to see if this company is worth saving up tokens for.

daim... it's only a 16cm saucepan. It's for doing sauces and stuff.

jackstini Tue 23-Jul-13 13:27:33

Pants. I collected loads of stickers and have an induction hob. confused

Allthingspretty Tue 23-Jul-13 15:38:56

Oooh I would like to take part!

Munxx Tue 23-Jul-13 15:43:39

Hope we are picked, our pans are well and truly f-ed at the minute.

mateysmum Tue 23-Jul-13 17:26:04

Just volunteered as the AGA tester for these pans. You really need high quality pans to get the most out of the AGA both on top and in the oven and I'm relearning all my favourite recipes. Some new pans would really help me along. I have one Fissler pan and it is very high quality. Pleeeese pick me for the test!

TigerFeet Tue 23-Jul-13 19:04:36

Oooh look, a lovely shiny stock pot
<rubs knees>

BettyBotter Tue 23-Jul-13 20:18:06

yes please!

Nighteyes27 Tue 23-Jul-13 20:38:31

Looking for a good size throw everything in pan for family meals. Would be interested to test out for durability and strength.

I have just eaten yet another stir fry with the added flavour of the flaky blach bits from the used-to-be-non-stick pan. Would love to see if there is a real difference between the cheap flaky panns and fissler quality ones.

daimbardiva Tue 23-Jul-13 21:40:50

summer in that case, I'm disappointed that the range doesn't include a bigger, lidded saucepan!

Duplogiraffe Wed 24-Jul-13 09:40:42

Done - fingers crossed !

dadinthehat Wed 24-Jul-13 10:15:28

Done. All my fingers crossed.

ChocolateOrangeforDd Wed 24-Jul-13 12:46:24

Please Please Please!

I need a new wok / stir fry pan. I always managed to go through any non stick coating very swiftly so I would give one an excellent workout grin

RatherBeOnThePiste Wed 24-Jul-13 14:00:48

I have signed up! Am rubbish at cooking but do TRY and am learning and I have Knotty on speed dial for those Hell's Teeth moments. grin

RatherBeOnThePiste Wed 24-Jul-13 14:01:54

lougle Wed 24-Jul-13 14:44:46

Here's hoping.

PaisleyPashmina Wed 24-Jul-13 17:53:33

I've seen the sticker promotion in store but never gone for it. I've never had a decent quality pan...I live in hope that it would improve my cooking!

farrowandbawl Wed 24-Jul-13 18:11:55

Please. DD has ruined mine and ds is now using it for something to dowith the playdoh and a chilli plant - no, I don't want to know either.

Either way, I really, really need a new one and to try one first will be a god send.

CharlotteBronteSaurus Wed 24-Jul-13 19:44:34

I fancy the griddle pan. Mine sets the smoke alarm off each time I use it, even if all the windows and doors are open.

kennythekangaroo Wed 24-Jul-13 20:57:54

I've started to collect stickers for this. I need a new milkpan to replace the one I took to university for cooking beans 25 years ago. It's looking a bit battered!
I also fancied the wok.
Fingers crossed.

I would love a chance to try one of these - I am killing pans at an alarming rate making 8-10 batches of sticky flapjack base daily!

ClaraOswald Wed 24-Jul-13 23:19:17

I would love to try these out- I have gone through stupid numbers of wok pans and frying pans. If these are truly non stick I will be impressed.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman Thu 25-Jul-13 08:40:50

Yes please. Married for 25 years and my pans are still my mum's old hand-me-downs. I've never had new pans, I'd kill for new pans.

Minifingers Thu 25-Jul-13 09:08:29

Oh me me! I fry everything <fat emoticon> and my pans all look like they have excema.

Orli Thu 25-Jul-13 09:34:18

Me, me me! I would love to be picked!
Please pick me....
Pretty please smile

TooManyWakesInTheNight Thu 25-Jul-13 10:49:16

I've applied smile I would love to try a grill pan sad lol

TooManyWakesInTheNight Thu 25-Jul-13 10:49:53

Argh! I didn't want a sad! I wanted it to say [ sad ] (!) blush

Sunny2013 Thu 25-Jul-13 14:50:48

Fingers crossed as the main food preparer I will be able to test one of these , delivered by Gordon Ramsey who will then ... create a delicious meal for me :-)

Uzma01 Thu 25-Jul-13 15:29:57

Would love to test out the stockpot, casserole or grill pan. I have non-stick pots for the most part but I think my best cooking gets done in the other couple I have. Plus anything that makes cooking quicker is a massive positive.

Done smile

iwanttoscream Thu 25-Jul-13 20:49:48

Done, my pots and pans have seen better days!

Babycarmen Fri 26-Jul-13 15:59:47

ooooh this would be so perfect for me I am just about to buy new pans soon, mine are so old!

roguepixie Fri 26-Jul-13 16:37:45

I've added my name - fingers x'd.

notso Fri 26-Jul-13 16:58:11

Got my name down! I love cooking but my second hand pan set donated by DP's gran when we moved in/she moved to nursing home are a bit worse for wear and most definitely not non-stick. How often do you get the chance to try something like this before you buy!?smile

timidviper Fri 26-Jul-13 19:49:18

I saw these in tesco today and they look very nice, I want to be picked even more now!

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 27-Jul-13 07:56:20

Entered - we have an odd pan fetish in this house, always adding to the collection :p

Lakota Sat 27-Jul-13 09:29:16

Ooh yes please, have had some of our frying pans since university, and they were probably hand me downs then!

Graceparkhill Sat 27-Jul-13 09:39:13

Count me in please!

TulipsAndWings Sat 27-Jul-13 18:09:17

Done, hope I get one.

shufflebum Sat 27-Jul-13 19:07:20

I'd love to try the casserole or a frying pan although any would be good as all of our pots and pans have seen better days. It would also mean I could allocate a one for ds2 who has severe food allergies and often needs his food cooked separately.

iAutism Sun 28-Jul-13 00:28:36

Made in PRC = China

Fissler is a registered trademark used under license by TCC Global N.V

TCC Global ( ) a marketing company that is used to get the most out of shopper. So you licence a top German trademark. Have the cheap pans made in china for next to nothing. The real ones are made in Germany and these ones are nothing like them.

“do you have to spend £200 in fresco to get 70% off a pan? “
you can buy the stickers on ebay 100 for a quid. So something fishy going on here smile

“Testers who are selected will need to add feedback on the pan on a thread on MN as well as posting an anon review on the Tesco website. “

This is very clever – you get a free pot that cost a few quid to make and is probably worth no more then the purchase price. I am sure there will be lots of positive feedback smile

ChoudeBruxelles Sun 28-Jul-13 10:22:02

Oh I'd love to try the casserole dish. My old one broke in recent house move.

Gallantry123 Sun 28-Jul-13 17:49:18

Fissler-Interested to try them. Me and the Good Food Magazine are friends and yes, any excuse to cook.

Witchesbrewandbiscuits Sun 28-Jul-13 20:53:39

Tee2072 Mon 29-Jul-13 07:26:42

Me me pick me!!!!

I never though I'd ever say this - but I'd love a new pan!

lolancurly Mon 29-Jul-13 10:16:15

I need some good and sturdy pots and pans for my big family - we cook every day and at the moment, there is so much lovely fresh garden produce to cook with - peas, tomatoes, beans and courgettes for a start. I am going to teach my tweenager to cook this summer holiday and how lovely for her to have some spanking new pants to test out at the same time (ones that wont stick and clean up nicely!!). We will also be cooking up some lovely breakfasts as there is no school (can you smell those pancakes and scrambled eggs?!).

muminthecity Mon 29-Jul-13 11:05:43

I would love one of these, my crappy collection of cheap Woolworths pans desperately needs updating! (The fact that they are from Woolworths shows how old they are grin)

MichelleMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 29-Jul-13 11:41:05

Hi - This thread is now closed, we will be in contact with the chosen testers soon smile

Fraxinus Mon 29-Jul-13 18:59:27

Crosses fingers....

CointreauVersial Mon 29-Jul-13 22:55:54

Well, you've answered one question for me......

I've been avidly collecting the Tesco stickers, but was unable to find anything in the literature about whether the pans could be used on an induction hob.

And now I have my answer - no, they can't. angry

Anyone want three pages of stickers?

Fraxinus Tue 30-Jul-13 18:45:59

Cointreau.... Actually it's only the non stick ones which are not suitable for induction jobs. Look at the stack pot and casserole... In the description it says suitable for all hobs.

Fraxinus Wed 31-Jul-13 12:54:31

Anybody had an email yet? (still crossing fingers)

CointreauVersial Wed 31-Jul-13 13:01:58

Thanks, Fraxinus - I didn't think to actually follow the links!

Maybe I'll put those stickers to good use after all.

gazzalw Wed 31-Jul-13 13:46:00

We shop online with Tesco and we've never knowingly received any of the stickers - I've just emailed them to complain!

plusonemore Wed 31-Jul-13 17:21:49

yay! I've got one!

sad no email here. Again sad

Happiestinwellybobs Wed 31-Jul-13 19:00:06

Yay - I've been picked. I've never been picked before so am sooo excited. Now to think of new recipes to try out on DD and DH grin

ClaraOswald Wed 31-Jul-13 19:07:30

No email here. sad

Fraxinus Wed 31-Jul-13 20:11:30

afromom Wed 31-Jul-13 21:32:15

I've had no less than 5 emails from Tesco throughout the day, none of them offering me my new pan to test! I don't want free click and collect shopping, summer picnic recipes or anything else, unless its a free pan! grin

Duplogiraffe Thu 01-Aug-13 07:34:51

No email for me so guessing I haven't been picked sad

Groovee Fri 02-Aug-13 17:36:49

nor me :-(

Tiggles Fri 09-Aug-13 10:19:37

Hi, I have sent MNHQ an email but got an 'out of office' reply, I was selected to receive a frying pan and had a 'dispatched' email, but it hasn't arrived.

KenDoddsDadsDog Sat 10-Aug-13 13:18:05

Got my casserole pan grin

Happiestinwellybobs Sat 10-Aug-13 14:35:09
