Here's what Tassimo say about the product: "Boasting a fresh, contemporary design, the Tassimo T20 machine is guaranteed to look the part in any kitchen. With its stylish and compact curves, it hardly takes up any worktop space, and it?s easy and fun to use."

Those selected will be sent the Tassimo T20 coffee machine (RRP £99.99) plus 2 packs of T DISCS to ensure you get your caffeine fix throughout the trial grin. Testers will be required to try the product out over the course of one week and add their feedback to a thread on Mumsnet and also add a review to the MN reviews area here.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters who like a good cuppa.
So if you'd like to take part please sign up here

Thanks and good luck,

I may have a major mild caffeine addiction that might definitely be helped along by such a pretty machine. Oh the cups of coffee I could make with that... <sigh> I hope I get picked!

Tee2072 Mon 13-May-13 14:55:37

Surely anyone who drinks decaf is instantly disqualified? That's why they asked, right?

LackaDAISYcal Mon 13-May-13 15:04:47

lol Tee grin

I put both, does that mean I'm only half disqualified? wink

GW297 Mon 13-May-13 15:05:01

Coffee is my very favourite thing! Coffee machines are great fun to use too. I would love to do this.

notso Mon 13-May-13 15:06:32

Pleeeeease. I have done without the fridge, the wii, the iron, the steam cleaner, and other numerous treats, surely I can get the coffee.

GwenCooper81 Mon 13-May-13 15:19:58

Please please pick me grin grin

Oooh I've been wanting one of these for ages!! It's my birthday on Wednesday but DH has ignored said I must put up with instant my request for a fancy coffee want to give me a lovely birthday present though, don't you Mumsnet?? grin

Nice one! grin

sybilfaulty Mon 13-May-13 15:28:16

Done. Hope I get picked.

I covet one of those machines. DH insists we use the bean grinder and the coffee machine, but it's such a faff when you only want one sodding cup smile

Yes please! Yum!

archfiend Mon 13-May-13 16:04:20

Me! Me! I cannot function without coffee and am currently minus a coffee machine because the last one got eaten by rats whilst in storage and don't have time to make proper coffee very often. Beg. Beg.

ItsallisnowaFeegle Mon 13-May-13 16:18:24

Oh my Godfrey! A coffee in the morning again? That'd be luxury with DS refusing to let me brew up in the cafeterie!

GoldenGreen Mon 13-May-13 16:38:08

Oh my yes please

snowgal Mon 13-May-13 16:40:04

Signed up smile

Oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please....<shameless begging, blush>

Dh does not drink coffee (strange man) and due to our scarily tight budget I have not been able to justify buying a pod type machine in case it is not as nice as I think it is and then I will ahve wasted my mone...
But I really really really want to try one as instant coffee is soooooo boring!

MNHQ, help, I forgot to click the 'click here to complete survey' button at the end of the survey and did it quite a bit after actually filling the survey.
Has my survey been submitted?

<panicking now, will go and have an (instant, bleurgh) coffee to calm my nerves>

melliebobs Mon 13-May-13 17:18:58

TulipsAndWings Mon 13-May-13 17:47:48

acrabadabra Mon 13-May-13 18:15:48

Please. DH is a miserable sod atm as our old machine which I could never get the hang of much to dh's disgust just died. Our entire household would benefit, not just the adults.

florencebabyjo Mon 13-May-13 18:27:50

I would love to try this. I need my coffee fix after running around after my 5 and DH as well. Would really make a difference to my mornings!

yawningbear Mon 13-May-13 18:32:36

I LOVE coffee, it's the one thing that has kept me going as I have yawned my way through the last 4 sleep deprived years. Our coffee machine has been used so much if is now very temperamental and does not always give me my necessary morning fix so this would be perfect smile

Done I need this!! Please choose me! <desperate>

bluebump Mon 13-May-13 18:48:07

Done, i'd love to try this.

Done, but survey seemed to get stuck. Can you confirm it went through, please?

pastmybbd Mon 13-May-13 18:53:36

Done. I'll never get chosen, but I thought, got me new kitchen, new try of a coffee maker would be an added bonus!

nappydaysagain Mon 13-May-13 18:55:58

Please pick me, I would love to test this one smile

IwishIwasmoreorganised Mon 13-May-13 18:58:45

Does it only do coffee or could we have hot chocolate things to try in it too (I'm the only coffee drinker - DH and ds's devour hot chocolate by the gallon!)

If it's only coffee - could I take it into work for my colleagues to test with me?

travellingwilbury Mon 13-May-13 19:00:00

Yes please , I would be a very happy bunny and I would answer your questions about the coffee experience very thoroughly and swiftly .

Creep .....

ouryve Mon 13-May-13 19:01:38

Well, notso - I'll leave my product tester's luck out of the equation on this one. I'm happy with my filter cone and those coffee pod things actually don't appeal to me (plus, I have no room for one!)

[kindly face]

I would be delighted to test this! We have had several coffee machines in the pussy including a de longhi and nespresso do would be ideally placed to compare.... And myself and dh drink loads of coffee. Pretty please?

dahville Mon 13-May-13 19:10:11

Fingers crossed

MumnGran Mon 13-May-13 20:38:39

I have been looking for a coffee machine, but they all seem quite complicated, so I would be absolutely delighted to test a machine which Tassimo say is "fun and easy to use".

The compact size would be a great bonus as I have a compact kitchen to match!

Crossing fingers & curling toes in the hope of being chosen to improve my daily coffee experience!

lambfam Mon 13-May-13 20:43:12

OOOh yes, please sign me up. I have just done the Moonwalk at the weekend and with my achey feet and blisters a period of coffee tasting and sitting down would be a just reward!

mam29 Thu 16-May-13 20:48:38

Both me and hubby total coffee addicts.

flier Thu 16-May-13 22:24:04

Do we know when they are choosing their testers?

sayithowitis Thu 16-May-13 22:29:26

I would so love this - I love decent coffee and my first opportunity of the day to have a proper coffee isn't until I get home after work. it's a long day, but knowing I was coming home to this would be just perfect!

I'd love to try this! Have the testers been picked yet?

Fingers really are crossed on this one.

Had a look at the T-disks and it would really suit everyone! I can't believe there are so many types.

DP would love some of the teas and the lattes, I would have the caramel macchiato, DGM would have the Twinings and the toddler would love the Milka hot chocolate.

Amazing that it makes so many different things!

Stropzilla Fri 17-May-13 10:54:00

My DD would love the hot chocolate and my mum would be over all the time for the Twinings! Fingers crossed hard for this one.

Doughnutmaestro Sat 18-May-13 20:19:13

Forgetfulmog Mon 20-May-13 08:41:42

Ooh I really hope I get picked, we were wanting to buy a coffee maker, but finances do not permit hmm

Fillybuster Mon 20-May-13 09:45:03

Watching carefully.....

Stropzilla Mon 20-May-13 10:16:55

Damn you spam, why must you taunt me? I keep getting PPI claim offers and rubbish through that raises my hopes, only to cruelly dash them.

Doughnutmaestro Mon 20-May-13 13:02:26

Just had heart failure! Got an email from mnhq!
Nearly peed my pants then read that it was just a survey.
I'm going to have to clean my bathroom to distract me.
Do you hear that mumsnet you're forcin me to clean! And then relax after with instant coffee! <shudder>

Stropzilla Mon 20-May-13 13:12:52

Oh you poor thing! Not instant! I think you should get one just to make up for that. And me too.

Doughnutmaestro Mon 20-May-13 13:46:35

not sure if sarcasm or not

Stropzilla Mon 20-May-13 13:55:26

Sorry I forget it's hard to tell tone online. Nope, full sympathy for your lack of Tassimo T20 coffee! And having to clean. Something I should be doing too but really, can't be bothered today! Totally no offence intended.

Doughnutmaestro Mon 20-May-13 13:59:07

Lol none taken i took it at that first then re-read it and wasn't sure flowers
I think we both deserve one, me for cleaning and you to perk you up to do yours! Win-win lol

Any news yet?

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 21-May-13 12:57:05

sorry we are busy chasing folks who are chasing other folks to sign the list of lucky testers off....was a v popular one this though....

Ok thanks Ann smile

DorisShutt Tue 21-May-13 13:16:33

How do they decide?

Is it random, or is there a specific demographic companies look for?

I know you can't be specific and say xxx company is looking for yyy kind of woman with zzz kids etc, but in general? <curious and inquisitive emoticon>

travellingwilbury Tue 21-May-13 13:23:36

Pacing ....

WheresMyCow Tue 21-May-13 13:43:52

So there's still a chance

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 21-May-13 13:59:35

doris.....pretty random for projects where so many apply. The - commonly called - "pick me" box is also used to pull on the ole heart strings for me...gin/chocolates/wine etc don't make a difference...

ClaimedByMe Tue 21-May-13 14:41:13

Maybe I don't beg enough in the 'pick me' box wink

Forgetfulmog Tue 21-May-13 14:44:51

How about extreme flattery Ann wink

DameFanny Tue 21-May-13 15:07:48

hurricanewyn Tue 21-May-13 19:41:47

Even knowing this, I'll still jump every time I notice something in my inbox

DameFanny Tue 21-May-13 19:46:57

Well at least since the thread isn't filling up with smugs we're still in with a chance [pollyanna]

Doughnutmaestro Tue 21-May-13 20:26:37

I dread the posts saying "I got the email" because that means I've missed out again and wasted days obsessively checking emails

Forgetfulmog Tue 21-May-13 20:39:06

I hear ya doughnut!

Doogle2 Wed 22-May-13 11:39:43

Do you think MNHQ are partaking in some coffee testing?

Doughnutmaestro Wed 22-May-13 12:07:47

I think they might be partaking in some Sadism lol
I can just imagine them all sat round a table saying "no not yet! Let them wait" while laughing into their yummy coffee.

Stropzilla Wed 22-May-13 12:15:23

There are no coffee machines. This will be one of the biggest troll threads of all time.

1. if there's a mail from mumsnet and

I should get a life.

Tee2072 Thu 23-May-13 10:56:50

florencebabyjo Thu 23-May-13 14:45:16

I am also getting obsessed with checking emails and also have taken to seeing Tassimos everywhere! Is this the first sign of finally losing the plot?

KatieBMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 23-May-13 15:13:33

Wiifitmama Thu 23-May-13 16:39:20

Odd that no one has come on here to say they got one.

Stropzilla Thu 23-May-13 16:41:33

There were only 16, maybe the lucky people just don't check their emails as obsessively as we do!

Nerfmother Thu 23-May-13 18:17:21

notso Thu 23-May-13 20:53:00

Booooo that's along the lines of what I said QOD but they didn't want me!

QOD Thu 23-May-13 21:38:29

notso Thu 23-May-13 21:42:48

tinypumpkin Thu 23-May-13 22:51:02

I did too, thank you MN smile A truly horrific day with a cock up at work so put a smile on my face. I never treat myself to anything so am feeling really lucky and grateful.

mindingalongtime Fri 24-May-13 06:44:20

Why did we all covet one so much, me included? The drinks taste just like warm cardboard! I tried one yesterday and was disappointed, but winning something is always a good feeling, so would have been worth it for that alone.

Fillybuster Fri 24-May-13 13:23:07

I sooooo wanted to be selected for this sad

Well done all testers - looking forward to reading the feedback thread.

LiveItUp Fri 24-May-13 16:07:45

Oh well, off to buy a Nespresso machine instead, as recommended by a couple of friends. Their machines make utterly gorgeous coffee (and now I'll never know what a Tassimo coffee is like ). grin

Mmm, my friend recommended the Nespresso machine too. May look into it, have some Argos vouchers to spend...

Ruprekt Tue 28-May-13 10:24:47

Omg!! I got chosen! Didn't get an email though Mumsnet.

Am sooooooo happy.smilesmilesmilesmilesmile

Postman delivered it this morning along with some breakfast tea and espresso.

Dh is thrilled.

Thank you so much.

Am off to read the thread now.

Nerfmother Tue 28-May-13 14:19:09

Hi, mine has arrived and I already have an order from the dcs for milk chocolate t discs so off to supermarket later. Currently working through the initial rinse you have to do - slightly tricky but got it now.

tinypumpkin Tue 28-May-13 20:00:05

Mine arrived too this afternoon with coffee and hot choc. All lovely so far smile

QOD Tue 28-May-13 20:02:40

I got coffee and chai tea which is utterly gross grin

The coffee, which I made into latte with the latte thing that came to make chai tea latte (stay with me) was utterly star bucksly freaking delicious. And I want another .... But then I may not sleep tonight .... But do I care?

QOD Tue 28-May-13 20:14:30

Lemongrass tea actually

Ruprekt Tue 28-May-13 22:33:38

QOD .....where will you buy future pods and what are you going to buy?

Ds wants the milka hot choc.

Nerfmother Tue 28-May-13 22:35:23

I have already bought pods wink and am looking online for milka hit choc as morrisons don't sell it. Tassimo online has loads of stuff.

QOD Tue 28-May-13 23:09:02

If you register with tassimo you get £20 credit, we just ordered £40 of pods for £20 as orders over £35 are free p and p
Gone for costa latte mainly, yo can buy tea but I wouldn't waste it n tea I you know what I mean!!
The coffee with it, with latte pod added is sooooooooooooo delicious o m actual geeeeeee I'll never sleep tonight buzz buzz buzz ;)

Ruprekt Tue 28-May-13 23:10:54

Did we all get different pods?

Wonder if anyone fancies swapping a few to try new flavours?

I have breakfast tea and espresso.

Thanks for the info. smilesmile

QOD Tue 28-May-13 23:25:28

Seriously, would anyone want lemongrass tea? envy (pukey face)

Ruprekt Tue 28-May-13 23:56:41

QOD I could try it! Seeing as you are probly gonna chuck it!!smilesmile

Nerfmother Wed 29-May-13 13:18:09

Okaaaay, I appear to be a marketing mans dream. Already stocked up in morrisons on espresso pods and now just ordered ( with discount) twenty quids worth of pods smile

Ruprekt Wed 29-May-13 14:12:46

mmmm, this could become an expensive habit Nerfmother!!

Nerfmother Wed 29-May-13 16:33:08

grin I know! Think they will more than make back their freebie!

HandMini Wed 29-May-13 20:16:25

Right, having now had three cups of Tassimo's Costa coffee and three Suchard hot chocolates (jeez, the thing was only delivered yesterday!) here is my review. I think I'm also supposed to stick this in product reviews, so will do so.

How does it look: 6/10. Not bad. It's doesn't look very "premium" in my opinion. It's a good neat size though, fits easily into my very small kitchen.

How does it work: 8/10. Very very easy...I didn't read the manual, I never do, it's a coffee machine, not a space shuttle dashboard. It's obvious and intuitive to use.

How does the coffee taste: 4/10. Sorry, but really not so good. Don't know if this is the Costa pod or the way the Tassimo makes it, but it's not great at all, definitely les nice than the cafetiere coffee I make with Sainsburys beans!

How does the chocolate taste: 4/10. Again, just not great. The flavour was weak and even worse it had a kind of plasticy taste. I threw the first one away because I thought maybe I'd made it wrong / new machine or whatever but they all tasted like that.

Anything else: the pods are quite bulky, the machine is very quick (less than a minute to make a drink), it's not noisy, the drinks are a decent temperature (not piping hot, but ready to drink).

Ruprekt Wed 29-May-13 20:23:59

Handmini.......did you do the wash through before you made the drinks?

Supposed to do it 4 times!

QOD Wed 29-May-13 20:27:16

Ruprekt inbox me your address, but I'll only send the tea, I've kept the latte pods and used some with the coffee pods to latteify them!

waste not want not!

Nerfmother Wed 29-May-13 20:45:31

Hand mini - where did you get the questions from? confused

HandMini Wed 29-May-13 20:48:27

Yes, I did the wash through four times (was being slightly flippant when I said I didn't read the instructions....)

Nerf - I made them up myself, freestyle! smile

HandMini Wed 29-May-13 20:49:34

How do you mix the coffee pods and latte pods - maybe I'll try that.

Also, the hot choc tasted plasticy but the coffee didn't, so I don't think it's an issue with the machine, I think it's the product.

Nerfmother Wed 29-May-13 21:06:26

Thanks, thought I'd missed the thread in my mad pod buying frenzy!

tinypumpkin Wed 29-May-13 21:34:26

Ah, I thought I missed the Qs too!

I have also been buying on the Tassimo site, this could become expensive here also! Still loving the coffee though and about to enjoy a hot choc to go with my marking smile

HandMini Wed 29-May-13 21:37:03

Feel free to follow my Qs, they are not copyrighted! wink

Tiny, do you have the Suchard hot choc as well, please tell me if you also think it tastes plasticy.

Ruprekt Wed 29-May-13 22:07:00

Would anyone like to send me a hot choc pod?????

In return for a hug or a smile or a breakfast tea pod???smilesmilesmilesmile

HandMini Wed 29-May-13 22:32:08

Sorry, I will go away and stop posting in a minute, but I just made another hot chocolate (am nothing if not tenacious) and looked at the pod afterwards and there was loads if bloody chocolate left in it. Not happy.

Rup - PM me your address and I'll send you a handful of hot choc pods.

Ruprekt Wed 29-May-13 22:33:17

I luff you Handmini!! smilesmile

QOD Wed 29-May-13 22:51:11

You put the coffee thru, use a proper mug, then put in a latte pod and it makes a full cup.

I picked up a box of costa latte in Twatrose today, I don't normally do waitrose but I knew, just KNEW they'd have the pods

tinypumpkin Wed 29-May-13 23:20:21

I don't think the choc tastes great but loving the coffee Handmini. It's the product I agree.

Nerfmother Thu 30-May-13 07:59:07

Which chocolate are you using? Just ordered the milka stuff and also the mixed collection pack? And the caramel latte. And the intense espresso. Sigh.

HandMini Thu 30-May-13 08:58:36

Caramel latte sounds like my kind of thing. I've got the Suchard chocolate.

QOD Thu 30-May-13 21:59:58

Tea posted grin

I reckon it'll get posted on again!

Ruprekt Thu 30-May-13 22:11:59

Ahh thanks so much QOD smilesmilesmilesmilesmile

Will con DH into drinking it if really vile!! grin

Nerfmother Fri 31-May-13 08:41:05

Really disappointed with the Kenco coffee as it tastes like coffee flavoured water.

HandMini Fri 31-May-13 08:57:39

Nerf, the Costa stuff is the same. Weak and nasty tasting. No richness, no aroma, no beany/chocolates yummyness. I had to break out my Bialeti this morning and go back to the stove top as I couldn't face the Tassimo coffee.

Nerfmother Fri 31-May-13 09:21:08

Hmmm. That's a shame: dh likes the cream stuff that you drink without milk, but the breakfast tea was weak and a bit stale tasting. The coffee was undrinkable really. Hoping some of the flavoured stuff is nice.

Nerfmother Fri 31-May-13 10:27:01

Box of ordered stuff has arrived: I was hoping the discovery pack would have more variety but its coffee it earl grey tea - I was thinking flavoured stuff for some reason. The hot chocolate was good according to kids ( ordered separately) but I wonder if that's because I didn't realise it came with a creamer and just added a big glug of milk.

Ruprekt Fri 31-May-13 20:28:32

Our Carte Noir coffee is lovely.

Twinings tea is fab too. smilesmilesmile

(Maybe I just appreciate free stuff!!) gringrin

tinypumpkin Fri 31-May-13 20:34:55

I got the discovery pack today also Nerf. I liked the machiatto, very nice. Not good for trying to lose weight though! Not tried anything else as yet.

Nerfmother Fri 31-May-13 20:38:56

Well there are some gorgeous ones ( milka, earl grey, some coffee) so yes definitely appreciating the free stuff

QOD Fri 31-May-13 22:55:16

Oh you really get a huge box of coffee pods for £40!! I like the carte noir with latte milk added
I love the costa one we bought

That's as adventurous as we got

smileyhappymummy Fri 31-May-13 23:34:38

Coming to this late as we ended up going away a bit unexpectedly (long story!) and got back today to find the tassimo t20 waiting for me! Was slightly confused initially but then checked my email and realised it was from the product test. Liking the look of it so far, too knackered to have set it up and tried it out yet so will do that tomorrow and add feedback. In the meantime, very excited to have been picked, very cool surprise!

Nerfmother Sat 01-Jun-13 17:37:01

Omg the costa Americano is lovely! Was worried after the manky Kenco Colombian but yay!

Ruprekt Sun 02-Jun-13 17:14:46

QOD.....Thanks so much for the lemongraass tea!

It is truly truly vile as a chai latte but......I added hot water and drank it without milk and it was lovely!!

Dh not keen on the costa cappuccino as the fake milk spoils it.

Both boys loved the cadburys hot choc!!

QOD Sun 02-Jun-13 17:28:29

envy puke Ruprecht!
I've had my first disaster! I put a costa pod in, then realised I needed to turn the thing on and had to re open and close the top thingy. I think I then punctured an extra hole accidentally and basically the coffee grains and water went eeeeeeeeeeverywhere!!!!

Nerfmother Sun 02-Jun-13 17:34:27

Sorry. That would so happen to me.

How did I miss this?!?! sad
