Just being nosy- I'm excited because I've been selected to test some nappies and I've only just finished the Hoops and Crosses crisps that were sent out a few weeks ago!

I heart Mumsnet grin

Method Washing Liquid. It's lovely but too £££££s IMO.

fabinacab Thu 25-Apr-13 20:02:22

How do you get to test things?

AmberLeaf Thu 25-Apr-13 20:02:43

Cheese and crisps!

I also tested the hoops and crosses and last year I tested the cathedral cheddar 'for kids' cheese Chedds.

I tried to be a tester for one of those steam mops, but no luck!

Enjoyed the cheese and crisps though. smile

Skang Thu 25-Apr-13 20:04:18

I'm doing the pampers when they turn up. It will be the first thing I've tested.

nancerama Thu 25-Apr-13 20:04:39

Walkers Sunbites, Metanium Everyday, Origins and Garnier Ultralift Moisurisers, M&S Shapewear, Method washing liquid, Quaker chocolate porridge.

Then I moved house and haven't been selected to test anything since hmm

nancerama Thu 25-Apr-13 20:05:02

And Mu cheese

Coconutty Thu 25-Apr-13 20:05:24

Indith Thu 25-Apr-13 20:17:09

method stuff, origins lovely but expensive face stuff, aldi nappies and the youview box.

Method washing up liquid, Aldi baby bath stuff, Kelcote scar gel and some boob gel. Only started filling them in about October time so doing ok. Also won a couple of prizes so happy with my MN swag so far smile

WhatTheWaterGaveMe Thu 25-Apr-13 20:22:50

I don't think it's a fix.....I got picked for the pampers :-)
Just waiting for them now

Caitycat Thu 25-Apr-13 20:24:38

Wasn't getting picked for anything but then got Aldi washing powder and am awaiting some nappies, unfeasibly excited about it!

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Thu 25-Apr-13 20:25:28

Method too.
We wait until the refill packs are on offer then stock up on those, it's much cheaper that way.

I have done washing up liquid, childrens books, face cream and a steam iron.

OvO Thu 25-Apr-13 20:26:15

Fish oil supplements, M&S shape wear, fancy face cream, potato recipes (that was best as had £55 to spend on recipes then £100 of vouchers to say thanks), children's book packs, chocolate porridge, c- section scar cream, ambrosia custard/rice puddings.

That's what I remember so far. grin

I've also won a day out at Drayton manor and stay in their hotel, tickets to BBC good food show, kids camera and art set, had £20 amazon voucher for filling in a survey and just yesterday got a £30 amazon voucher from someone who had a survey for her dissertation.

I have never won anything any other time in my life so I proper love Mumsnet!

ShowMeTheYoni Thu 25-Apr-13 20:28:07

A car, a coat, cheese, crisps, books, the method stuff, porridge, quite a lot of foodstuff actually!

ShowMeTheYoni Thu 25-Apr-13 20:28:57

Oh use the ambrosia, I got a £100 John Lewis voucher,

WipsGlitter Thu 25-Apr-13 20:30:44

Jojobump1986 Thu 25-Apr-13 20:32:40

I squeaked when I got the email saying that we'd been chosen to test the pampers nappies! DH thought I was going into labour! I've not been chosen to test anything before & I got a little too excited about it! blush

I did the Ella's Kitchen dessert testing. I DS loved them.

KenDoddsDadsDog Thu 25-Apr-13 20:35:41

Metanium cream
A kenwood handheld blender
Primula cheese
Doing the razor one now
i so wanted a steam cleaner though

EarnestDullard Thu 25-Apr-13 20:37:18

A baby toy, some boob cream, and I'm waiting for my Pampers nappies.

steffibabes Thu 25-Apr-13 20:38:27

Aldi nappies and Method. Also had at least three books from the book giveaways smile

Nothing so far sad. Been looking forward to testing something. I think it's a fix too.

racingheart Thu 25-Apr-13 20:41:19

Not exactly a tester, but they sent me a novel to read and review on here. Starting it tonight...

Hoover, Method washing liquid & a bottle of wine. I think that's all. I also got a £20 Amazon voucher for some feedback too.

TeamEdward Thu 25-Apr-13 20:44:45

Porridge, cheese, potatoes, breakfast biscuits, crisps, fruit crisps and something else I can't remember. Won a few competitions too!

4yoniD Thu 25-Apr-13 20:44:48

chocolate porridge. It didn't come sad

HazeltheMcWitch Thu 25-Apr-13 20:46:28

I LOVE the MN product testing thing - I love trying new things, I love free! things, and I love the level of detail that MNers go into when they give their feedback.

I've tried: Walkers Sunbites, Method laundry liquid, A2 milk, chocolate porridge. My best try was the Jamie Oliver Home Cooker. I'm currently trialling Aldi Almat laundry powder.

I'm most jealous of those who were picked to trial the Steam cleaner. And the Dyson slim thing. And most of all - the mahoosive Samsung 'American style' fridge freezer.

Eve Thu 25-Apr-13 20:46:40

Eve Thu 25-Apr-13 20:47:25

And I fill in every survey...what's your secrets???

ShootingStarsss Thu 25-Apr-13 20:49:21

Dyson ball Hoover & we got to keep them grin few years ago now.

Indith Thu 25-Apr-13 20:54:49

Oh and those minging breakfast biscuits. Still have loads left of those.

But I started uni a few weeks ago and keep ignoring MN emails and surveys and forgetting to enter competitions.

ouryve Thu 25-Apr-13 20:55:22

I've done rather a lot over the past 2.5 years.

The biggies: Berghaus jacket (still wear it - it's fab) and Karcher steam cleaner.

Other stuff, probably forgetting things: Bio oil, Blobo, Sunbites, Ambrosia rice puds, Moo cheese sticks (the one test that went down like a lead balloon - didn't even spend all my vouchers and ended up throwing away most of what I bought because the damned stuff couldn't even be got rid of by melting it), Method laundry detergent, Ecover bathroom cleaning stuff, Tesco Kitchen spray (I didn't like that one much - used it to clean a smelly corner of the back yard, in the end!), A2 milk, M&S Fuller longer meals, Metanium arse cream.

I also got some tomato seeds to plant for Dolmio and won their thing where you went to an event in the shopping centre (I think there were only about half a dozen of us made it to one!) as well as being on the innocent panel and getting some vouchers and goodies for that.

YoniOno Thu 25-Apr-13 20:55:54

I got a Samsung mahoosive fridge grin

ouryve Thu 25-Apr-13 20:58:23

Oh, and that "chocolate" porridge. DH finished that!

Also won a book for the boys in a draw.

Gobbolinothewitchscat Thu 25-Apr-13 21:00:39

I'm currently doing the George Forman grill. I couldn't make the special rest day as DS wasn't well but kind MN sent me one to try anyway. It arrived today and I'm very excited!

yesididthat Thu 25-Apr-13 21:05:04

It's not a fix because I actually got picked!

My family were chosen to test the YouView box. Amazing it is btw!

Keep checking the Mumsnet Product Testing forum. Really, I never win anything but submitted a form and got an email to say that I had been selected.

Good Luck!

januaryjojo Thu 25-Apr-13 21:06:21

Ecover wipes
A chicco ride on toy (that DS loves)

There might have been more, can't remember at the moment.

Likesshinythings Thu 25-Apr-13 21:12:56

I'm another of the lucky ones who got the mahoosive fridge. I bloody love that thing!

Black and Decker steam cleaner, it's amazing. I never get picked for anything so nearly combusted when I got the email.
Cheese, biscuits, My Little Pony and a few other bits I've forgotten. grin

Fantastic! (But you do need 2!)

Indith Thu 25-Apr-13 21:27:37

I don't think you get to keep the cars grin.

Mixture of what you write on the form, if you are willing to do videos and pure luck I think.

ilikeyoursleeves Thu 25-Apr-13 21:29:12

Ha ha I thought you actually kept the car, now that would be a result!

The Dyson hand held Hoover smile best test ever and I got to keep it smile

Indith Thu 25-Apr-13 21:42:26

oh yeah I have a joggler from MN too. They were short lived, o2 got that one a bit wrong! Didn't work as anything it should really. We used the radio on it a bit.

Graceparkhill Thu 25-Apr-13 21:43:57

ouryve Thu 25-Apr-13 22:37:32

Doughnutmaestro Tue 14-May-13 09:58:41

Is there a knack to getting picked or is it random?

lubeybooby Tue 14-May-13 17:05:27

"Matalan school uniform, Sunbites, Breakfast biscuits, Method laundry liquid, Chocolate porridge, Tesco natural cleaning spray, M&S shapewear"

and now Clinique CC moisture surge cream too - thanks MNHQ grin thanks

I tested a playstation 3 with the harry potter game.

Appletiser (four massive bottles), Metanium everyday cream, tesco Eco antibac spray, oatso simple children's porridge, pampers baby dry ummmm I think that's it oh halos and horns body wash.

Bearcrumble Tue 28-May-13 08:46:41

Halos and horns kids' shower gel and some rather unpleasant healthy crisps.

Bearcrumble Tue 28-May-13 08:48:12

Oh and had a very nice free meal at a pub in Streatham as part of testing it for 'family friendliness'.

Maggietess Wed 29-May-13 19:09:28

I don't think its random at all, sure don't they ask you why you want to test, what age your kids are, your age, your employment status and where you live. Marketeers was the a certain type of person that fit their brand (I've no idea what that type is btw) . I'm guessing those that got picked most natch most criteria best.

I've only had the hoops

Maggietess Wed 29-May-13 19:41:53

Whoops sorry for the typos... I previewed and everything and still didn't notice!

Uzma01 Thu 25-Jul-13 15:46:58

Only tested the Innocent smoothies for MN so far, always apply for the relevant things when I find out about them. Plus had three different books posted to me as part of the bookclub.

Lost track recently. Some times I get lots and others none. Currently doing the palmers oil and organic paste pots.
Done in past......

O2 jogger .....major fail
Aldi wipes and nappies ( converted)
Youngs fish thing and got a camera to keep and lots of free fish
Metanium cream
Bio oil
Wash tablets
Surface spray
The noughts and crosses crisps
Smoothie innocent stuff
Multigrain bites

So I've actually done quite a lot but never win the feedback prizes :0(

Is the youngs fish u tube advert still live? My most embarrassing product test!

Only the chocolate porridge, which was too sweet but nice diluted with ordinary oats.
Got a cookbook once.

Yes, I have tested:
A Wii
A Leapad Tag Reading System
A Berghaus coat
Some Eco Washing Powder.

The washing powder was rubbish, but I was pretty delighted with everything else!

Keep trying, I've applied for lots in the past and never been picked, even posted saying I was going to give up trying blush saw the mobile by sainsburys thought I'd give it a shot and we were picked and were currently testing it now, DD is very happy. smile

My palmers rosehip oil arrived yesterday, slathered it on this morning.... I was also picked for the tesco spray test.

Just got picked to test Mr Muscle cleaner - it's the first test I've been picked for, so now I am disproportionately excited grin

HorseyGirl1 Thu 15-Aug-13 15:41:37

Finished testing the Organix baby stuff (loved that, nice food + a voucher to buy extra ingredients for the recipes!)
Waiting for my Mr Muscle cleaner too and also unreasonably excited - I so need to get out more! ha ha!
