1. I tried Blossom Hill Vie White wine. It was gorgeous . I really enjoyed it especially beingmy first glass of wine since I had my son 6 weeks ago .
2. I think the white variety tasted very fruity to me . It reminded me of an apricot yoghurt I used to have when I was younger . It had a lovely light finish though and didn't leave a bad aftertaste as some wines do.
3.I would definitely recommend Blossom Hill Vie White to my friends as its a very pleasant drink and makes a nice change to the usual wine I drink as I found it more refreshing.
4. My perfect "Vie time" would be enjoying a big glass of Blossom Hill Vie , while having a hot bubble bath with candles all around and peace and quiet !!
5. Yes, I did know that Blossom Hill Vie had 30% less calories - perfect for me to have while trying to lose my baby weight grin
6.I really enjoyed this drink and would be perfect in the summer as a really refreshing wine .

BagCat Mon 04-Feb-13 09:58:23

Just a note. Every time I see "Blossom Hill Vie", I read it as Blossom Hill Vile and I have to have a double take. Just saying....

s1. I tried the Blossom Hill white wine. Very pleasent taste, im not a massive drinker but i actually enjoyed this and drank the lot blush
2. It was very fruity and suprisingly refreshing. I would compare it to shloer, very pleasent taste and quite sweet.
3. Yes i would reccomend this wine to friends, it is very pleasent and easy to drink. Perfect for a girly get together
4. My perfect Vie Time would be sitting in the garden on a warm summers day with a huge glass of wine while watching the sun go down.
5. No i didn't know it was less calories, but is a deffinate bonus to somone on a permanent diet grin
6. Overall a very nice wine, lovely taste and quite sweet. I do however think it should be avaliable as non sparkling too, that is however just my personal prefrence. Maybe worth focusing on the low calorie content for marketing purposes grin

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white and my initial reaction was that it was a gorgeous taste.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I would describe it as light and very fruity - and very moreish!

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
My initial reaction was that yes I would definitely recommend it on taste. However, thinking about it later I just wonder if this is too much like alcopops for grown ups. Also it doesn't say what the flavourings which have been added are carried on - I'd like to see a more informative label as I like to know what is in my drink!

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
In the garden on a warm summer's evening.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes I did - DH was impressed with this as he needs to lose weight.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share? Although I really enjoyed the taste I am totally torn between thinking this is a great product and wondering whether spritzers using the usual Blossom Hill wine would give a more authentic taste.

BoysWillGrow Mon 04-Feb-13 10:03:55

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white, it was lovely both myself and dp loved it.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
A bit fruity, with no horrible after taste, which a lot of wines have.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. It's one of the only wines I've come across without the nasty after taste. And it tastes really nice.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Saturday evenings when staying in, Sunday lunch & perfect taking round a friends too.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Even better then.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
It was great thanks, dp loved it too grin

melissa2828 Mon 04-Feb-13 10:49:12

parques Mon 04-Feb-13 10:51:06

1. Rose. Very fruity & sweet (my wine preference) smile
2. Sweet summer strawberries, so very fruity
3. I would recommend, but the lower alcohol suits me because of health issues. Most of them drink 'proper' wine
4. In the evening once the kids are in bed!
5. This isn't a major concern, but it's still good to know!
6. Thank you for the opportunity. I will buy it in the future grin

SockThing Mon 04-Feb-13 11:11:12

I tried the White, it was really tasty, I was pleasantly surprised.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

Either sharing a bottle with my husband (he had a glass of my free bottle and really like it) or spending an evening with my best friend catching up and drinking Vie and eating lots of crisps!!

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

No I didn't, even more crisps then!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Thanks

THERhubarb Mon 04-Feb-13 11:33:36

1. I tried the rose Vie. The smell was ok; light, fresh and sweet smelling. The colour was also ok, quite a pale pink.
I'm glad it wasn't too fizzy, just right really.
It was a light drink that would be nice in summer. The flavours were a bit too delicate, I would have preferred a stronger taste. I could taste a hint of strawberry and a little bit of vanilla? It was pleasant but I wouldn't particularly rave about it. You wouldn't have known it was only 5%.

2. I would say that it was a gentle, subtle wine that would appeal to someone who liked a refreshing and sweet glass of wine in the summer.

3. It would depend on the friend. I have friends who would love it and other friends who would not. If anyone asks I would recommend that they try it.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Not sure I liked the 'Vie time' as it's still alcoholic so encouraging people to drink mid-week is a no-no for me. I would perhaps buy this in the summer if I felt like a glass of sweet wine but didn't want to go mad with the alcohol. It would also be handy to have a bottle in so that I could have a few glasses with dh and not worry about overdoing it. I did this last night as we were watching a DVD and he was drinking beer. I had a couple of glasses of Vie and it felt as though I was enjoying a drink with him, yet I didn't have to worry about being groggy this morning.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I know now that you've told me. I'm not dieting so I don't really care.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I would love to see a decent red wine come out that was only 5%. I'm normally a red wine drinker. I like Rioja and full bodied Bordeaux wines. I have never found a low-alcohol substitute for red wine.

Generally I do think that wines can still have all the taste and benefit from less alcohol. The alcoholic content of wines have been creeping up and really it doesn't add much to the flavour at all. Wine makers should concentrate on producing a great wine with all the flavour but with lower alcohol. It's being done for white and rose but red appears to be a problem.

There are plenty of red wine drinkers out there who would be more than willing to try a low-alcohol red. If you could get that right you'd coin it in as no-one else has managed it so far. I'd be delighted to be a taster for that!

pennwood Mon 04-Feb-13 11:57:15

I was lucky enough to be sent a bottle of white Vie & shared it with my Husband - thumbs up from both of us.
The taste is quite fruity, mainly apricot but with a good citrus base it is refreshing, delicate, and without any after taste.
I would recommend Vie as it is tasty, but with the low alcohol suitable for lots of different venues, and times when one may be driving, or just need to keep a clear head.
It would be good for sharing especially in the summer such as picnics or BBQ.
I did realise it had lower calories which is a positive especially with all the concerns over obesity in the population.
My thoughts:-

Refreshingly citrus, a delightful taste,
without extra calories on my waist!

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? White, tasty
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? fruity and light and a tiny bit sparkling
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? Would not recommend, but might serve at lunch
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? Lunch time weekend
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? I do now
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share. I really thought that this was going to be wine. It is wine with (I think) water and flavours added. Not unpleasant, I enjoyed it, but was surprised that it was not wine but a 'wine drink'

supergreenuk Mon 04-Feb-13 12:35:11

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
White. I wasn't expecting to like it but I did.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Fruity and refreshing light wine.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would. I have tried low alcohol wine before and they are usually quite bland and boring.
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Lunch time.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I do now.
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I was pleasantly surprised by this drink. It would never replace my friday night wine but on certain occations it would be great.

browny Mon 04-Feb-13 13:13:09

I received my bottle on Friday, what a lovely suprise!

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
white

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
peach, apricot and melon flavours

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, as with lunch if eating out and also if trying to lose weight too

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you
lunchtime with friends/early evening or just relaxing with a book as a treat

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

No, I didn't until I read the label, what a bonus!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share

I liked the delicate flower on the label and could see straight away that it had a lower alchohol volume, but did not know the fact that it had 30% less calories than standard wines, this fact should be made extremely clear and a definate plus point for marketing

Thank you for allowing me to try it.

memagog Mon 04-Feb-13 15:18:59

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
Rose - Not quite what I was expecting but pleasant

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Very fruity, very drinkable, not wine, a bit flat alcopop but in a good way

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't think I would recommend as it doesn't really feel like you are having an alcoholic drink.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Nice evening guilty pleasure with dinner without feeling too guilty!

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I didnt as it isn't really made that obvious

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share.
I enjoyed the drink but it really didn't taste like wine and tasted a little watery. As a consequence it was really easy to drink and I ended up drinking much more of it than I would normal wine so probably offsetting the calories/alcohol benefits!!!!

LadyFace Mon 04-Feb-13 15:52:34

1. I tried the rose. I really liked it. It was nice and sweet but not overly sweet.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? Fruity, you can definitely taste the strawberry and peach. It's very drinkable.
3. I would recommend it to my friends. We are all big rose fans and I can see us having a few glasses of this. The lower alcohol and calorie content would appeal to them too.
4. Having friends round in the summer watching the sunset in the garden.
5. Yes, the lower calorie content is a big plus.
6. The best part for me is that it is a low alcohol wine that tastes nice. My dh and I shared the bottle on Sat eve and the next morning felt absolutely fine.

pinkem Mon 04-Feb-13 15:59:15

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
White - When I smelt it I wasn't sure if I would like it as it smelt like a strong dry wine, however on tasting it was light and fruity!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Refreshing, light and fruity.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, even after a couple of glasses, no 'fuzzy' head!

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Comfy PJ's, snacks, TV or book and a glass of Vie.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Not until I saw it on the paperwork.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I think the fact the wine has 30% fewer calories could be highlighted more - perhaps join forces with weight loss companies.

WitchOfEndor Mon 04-Feb-13 16:38:46

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
rose. I liked it
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
sweet and fruity, slightly vinegary though although not in a bad way! I'm surprised no one else thought this
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
i would recommend it to a friend who was looking for a low alcohol option. But I don't think many of them do!
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
DS in bed early, a gu desert and a good movie
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
no, but I suppose it makes sense (and let's me eat the gu dessert guilt free)
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
just wondering if it is going to be widely available, and why isn't there a red option?

Thank you for the bottle of wine. We tried our on Friday night and again over the weekend.

The questions:
1. I so wanted to like it - the bottle looked beautiful but I'm afraid I was really disappointed. I guess it comes down to expectations - I expected it to taste like white wine and it didn't. The drink itself is very thin on the palate, no depth of flavour. Reminded DH and I off a cheap white wine spritzer the next day when it had lost its fizz . We also felt that the fruity floral flavours were not coming from the wine itself but from the added flavouring which was really off putting.
"Reduced alcohol wine based drink with flavourings" - so not wine really. Would have been nice to know where the wine was from and what the flavourings were - basically ingredients please! Norks I did recognise the slightest hint of fizz but in this case it just gave the impression that it was meant to fizzy but had gone flat.

I think I would probably prefer to buy a decent wine that I know is nice and then to add some water or fizz to it.

2. the taste of vie - thin, light, refreshing, good in summer, floral and a bit fruity.

3. I couldn't recommend it to anyone really as I feel there are much nicer drinks out there.

4. If I did like it I would drink it anytime really- I like wine but hate feeling drunk. If I'd enjoyed it, it would have been the kind of thing I'd like to have been able to order in a restaurant.

5. Didn't know - not fussed about calories as I don 't drink much anyway.

6. I really think clearer and more informative labelling would help out a lot - we like to know where the wine is from and what the added bits are - also perhaps what percentage of the total volume is wine, what water and what flavourings.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I tried the white. I thought it was delicious.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Fruity, light, refreshing and sweet.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend this wine.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

Summer evening, sitting in the garden, bbq on the go, and a glass of this refreshing wine.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I did after I read the label, its not really clear and I wouldn't have noticed it in the shop, I really think more should be made of that as it would certainly sway me towards buying it.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

I think the label should be clearer about the lower alcohol content and fewer calories, when I buy wine I usually scan the shelf and don't really look at anything in depth, the label in itself isn't eyecatching enough to stand out and so I wouldn't really notice any of the details. The lower alcohol/calories would sway me towards buying it if I did notice.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
white
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
sweet, fruity and easy to drink
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
once the DCs are in bed
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
yes - it says so on the bottle
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I'd like to know how the lower calories/alcohol content is achieved - the label says it is "blended" but what with? there are no ingredients. Otherwise I'm a fan and would probably buy

poppy1973 Mon 04-Feb-13 19:41:16

My husband and I sat down Friday night with a nice homemade curry to try the bottle of wine that we had sent to us. We tried the white version that they sent to us.

Here is what we thought:

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
White -We both thought that it smelt nice and fruity. It didn't really taste like a cold chilled wine thought and was a bit flat and tasteless.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Sweet, light and non-alcoholic. Tasted like a flat frascatti or flat lambrusco.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, if you wanted to take a bottle to a Summer bbq and not worry about drinking too much with the family around you, then yes, I would recommend a bottle of Vie.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

Summer drink one evening in the garden with the children.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

Well it mentioned on the bottle that it has less alcohol so we therefore worked out that it would mean less sugar and therefore fewer calories. We didn't feel so guilty drinking the wine with our curry Friday night !!!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

It would be nice to know exactly how many calories are in each glass of wine.

FanFuckingTastic Mon 04-Feb-13 19:52:33

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I tried the rose and found it had a very pleasant sweet taste. It went down really nicely chilled from the fridge.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

It was very light and fruity, with a slight fizzy after taste.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, most likely, it was nice to be able to have a few glasses and not be off my trolley, I like wine and sipping at it through the night is rather pleasant, I just hate how high the alcohol content is sometimes as I am a complete lightweight and find it usually hurts my kidney if I have more than a glass.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

Any time, I prefer the lower alcohol due to having health issues I need to keep my units to a minimum. I got more flavour for my units this way.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

This is also good, as a Slimming World follower I'd be interested to see the difference in syns.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Could I get some more please?

Blatherskite Mon 04-Feb-13 20:05:52

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the White Vie. I thought it was lovely - it must have been, as the bottle didn't last very long! - sweet and fruity and without that bitter alcohol after taste that some wines can have.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
It's like the love child of wine and Schloer. Easy to drink like the juice drink but with a mini wine kick.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it. It's perfect for having the glass of wine you crave without the foggy head the next morning and no need to worry about being drunk while 'on duty'. I know a few Mum's who refuse to drink when they're home alone and this would be a good compromise.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
It was really handy that it arrived today as Mondays are really busy for me with School and Pre school drops offs and pick ups and a swimming lesson to get to too. Everyone is tired and dinner is always rushed. It was really nice to be able to sit down with a glass of wine after the kids were in bed without having to worry about having a foggy head tomorrow morning when I face the school runs all over again.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I didn't but that definitely appeals. One less thing to worry about.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I'd like the bottle to say what else was in Vie. It says "a wine based drink" but what is the other stuff that makes it not just "wine"? Water? Sweeteners? Flavourings? Could be important for those with food allergies.

bluecarrot Mon 04-Feb-13 20:07:01

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
Rose. I tried it with a few friends. We only had a little bit each and bottle is still half full 3 days later.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
First taste is fruity but then it tastes a bit sour. Felt a bit fizzy but I couldnt see if if it was supposed to be sparkling or if it was just....weird!
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
My closest friends tried it with me - none will be recommending it. There are better lighter wines out there.
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Feels like a summer drink...but I wont be drinking it again.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I saw that on the label. Rather have taste and calories.
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
The name looks like vile rather than vie. Otherwise it looks appealing to me.

pinkangelita Mon 04-Feb-13 20:57:46

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white Vie and really liked it! Made a nice change from white wines that leave an awful aftertaste (I normally won't drink white wine for this reason)

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
A really fruity, light and refreshing wine.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. Especially as many of my friends are dieting. I think they would very much enjoy a glass of this as their 'treat'

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Sitting in the garden in the evening sun smile

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes I did.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Really loved this wine, thank you for letting me try it. I think I would like the rosé even more grinI think the fact that it is lower calorie is more appealing to me than the fact it has a lower alcohol content so I would have thought this would be more obvious on the packaging.

eteo Mon 04-Feb-13 21:11:15

1. White. It is very light, fruity and easy to drink. Great with any type of food or on it own.
2. I agreed witht the sescription of being able to taste the fruit flavour of grape, pear and apricot
3. Yes, I would buy because it is an interesting proposition compare to the usual heavier white wine as especially for non white wine drinker. As a red wine drinker who does not noramlly drink white wine. This is very palatable and I look forward to buying and trying the rose when we next at the supermarket.
4. weekend
5. no, i didnt know
6. no

kazkiss Mon 04-Feb-13 21:22:55

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? I had the rose , I thought it was very light and refreshing
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? I would say it has a light fruity taste without the after taste that I dislike with most wines. It was like a spritzer but without the fizz.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes lots of my friend like blossom hill rose but this would be good to enjoy for the ones of us who have to get up with the
Kids the next morning. I would definitely say this is quite a girly drink
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? When you have put the kids to bed and have a nice bubble bath.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? Excellent , where can I get some more !
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

kazkiss Mon 04-Feb-13 21:23:43

Just want to add this would make the perfect summer BBQ drink!

likesnowflakesinanocean Mon 04-Feb-13 21:48:34

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? Rose, it was nice, light and refreshing,
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? really refreshing and fruity.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? i would recommend to a friend, as someone who usually finds wine too strong this was the perfect balance and tasted like a summer spritzer
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? the perfect vie time would be outside in my garden while pottering about
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? i did not know that
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Not sure if id buy specifically for the lower alcohol or calories but definatly for the taste

smarmyarmy Tue 05-Feb-13 10:06:21

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rose. i was pleasantly surprised. it was a lot nice than i thought it would be.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Refreshing, light and fruity with a taste of apricots. Very delicious!

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely! It is a lovely light summery drink which would be perfect with a salad or a light lunch.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
I can imagine drinking this on a summer day in the garden, whilst having a BBQ. It would also be great to enjoy with friends having lunch.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes - I read this on the label. Makes me feel less guilty especially as I am trying to be healthier this year.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
It is a lovely looking bottle which would probably catch my eye on the shelf. You can see that it is typically aimed at women. I found the wine very tasty with no aftertaste (I too have experienced this with other low-alcohol wines). It is very easy to drink and i would love to have a light, fruity red version of this. I think it would be very popular. Thanks for letting me try this!

A summer's evening or just watching the TV.

Yes.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white - it was delicious. A lovely smell as soon as you opened the bottle, it was light and very drinkable.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Very fruity and sweet.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I allowed my husband and sister a very small snifter, only a sip each mind! grin. Husband is not really a fan of sweet wine so would not recommend it to those kinds of wine drinkers, but my sister loved it. Fans of sweet wine, those watching the calories or who appreciate a lower percentage tipple will enjoy it very much.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
This would be perfect to drink while relaxing in the garden on a sunny afternoon while having a BBQ. A far cry from my own experience - I drank it while watching the footy on a cold February afternoon! smile

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I did not know that, but it's good info to have.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
A big thank you for letting me try this. I'll be buying more when summer comes around!

SirBoobAlot Tue 05-Feb-13 12:43:43

Still waiting for mine confused Missed a delivery on Friday, might have been that. Have called to rearrange delivery three times, but it's an answer phone message only service and haven't heard anything. Will try again sad

McNo Tue 05-Feb-13 12:56:32

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

Rose. I liked the bottle, I enjoyed the taste. It wasn't a strong tasting wine which I like.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

It tasted fruity, it didnt leave a nasty aftertaste which I often find with other wines I have tried.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes definately. I plan to choose this wine to take with me to friends.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
This would be relaxing with a glass of vie watching a good movie or gossiping with girlfriends at dinner.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I noticed that although I don't need to watch my weight at the moment so it wasn't a consideration for me but i know this could be important to other people.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

1. Tried the white Vie. Really wasn't sure as don't normally like white white as find they are too dry but was pleasantly surprised as not dry at all.
2. Sweet, fruity and refreshing.
3. Yes would definately recommend as very drinkable.
4. Summer nights on holiday.
5. Thought it might have as lower alcohol so you can enjoy without the guilt!
6. Lovely wine that may have convereted me to a white wine lover (well Blossom Hill Vie white obviously!

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend Tue 05-Feb-13 17:12:58

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I tried rose and I really enjoyed it.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

It was sweet and fruity, very easy to drink.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes because I liked the taste and also after reading here that this has 30% fewer calories, I think this would appeal to some of my friends.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

I would buy this in the summer for family bbqs or for nights in with my partner.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I didn't know that until I started filling this out.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

No

WannaSplitAPineapple Tue 05-Feb-13 20:01:49

1. I tried the rose and thought it was lovely and light. It was fruity with a slightly fizzy after taste.
2. I would describe the taste as light and fruity.
3. I would recommend it to my friends as I think they would enjoy it as they are all big rosé fans and its nice to find a fruity pale rose, a lot of the pale roses are too similar to white. This has a sweeter taste.
4. Perfect Vie time for me would be when the baby is in bed and I want a glass of wine to chill with (without worrying about the alcohol % being too high incase DS wakes in the night) or on a summers afternoon sitting in the garden with friends.
5. No, i didn't know it was 30% fewer calories and that does make me feel less guilty as I still need to lose the baby weight.
6. I really enjoyed the rose and the chance to sample it. Since having DS I haven't drunk much as I do worry about waking in the night but I felt a glass of this was enough to wind down with without the guilt. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste as a lot of low "whatever" products often are low in taste too, this how ever wasn't. I would happily go out and purchase a bottle or two.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I got the white wine. I really liked the wine.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Fresh, sparkling and really yummy (I always get sweet wine but it is harder
to find

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it to friend especially to my friends who like sweet wine
less alcohol

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Relaxing in front of the tv aft the kids gone to bed or a night with my girlfriends

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No, I didn't know that!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
They should make more wine which is sweet, I only find half dry or dry wines which I don't really like

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I had the rose. I really enjoyed it. A low alcohol drink is perfect for me as I'm breastfeeding and always on duty, but still want to sit downstairs and enjoy something other than tea!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Soft and fruity. Like a weak rose, really.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Absolutely. I think it's brilliant for parents that want to relax with a drink in the evening without the feeling of being drunk. Or anyone that has a busy schedule the next day.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
In the evening when DC are asleep and I know I don't have to go out anywhere.
Nice and quiet. Just the sound of me eating crisps.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes, I read it somewhere since signing up for this. All the better, I say.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
It would be nice to know what else is in it. Wine based drink could be anything. Although I guess it's just water and flavouring so wouldn't look too great on the label.
I assume this is similar to the weight watchers wine. But the label is much more sophisticated and proper wine looking. That would make me chose it over something else on the shelf.
Thanks for letting me try it. I will probably buy something like this again. Maybe try the white next time.

ProtegeMoi Wed 06-Feb-13 01:03:25

I tried the Rose wine as requested. I was quite looking forward to this as I enjoy wine but have not been able to drink it much due to breast feeding so this seemed like a good compromise.

I tasted it along with a few friends and was quite disappointed in it to be honest. It tastes nice yes, fruity and sweet but it didn't really seem like a wine. I would describe it more like a juice type taste and it just didn't feel the same as it would having a glass of wine.

However 2 of my friends who tried the wine, both of whom do not drink wine as they do not like the taste loved this. It seems like its fantastic for people who are not a fan of traditional wines as being lighter and sweet tasting it is easier to drink. For those who do enjoy a strongly flavoured wine like myself it was a let down.

I would recommend it as an alternative to someone who was not a dan of wine in general as that but not to a wine lover as it just does not live up to others on the market.

In terms of the perfect Vie time. I think it's a nice summer drink, quite refreshing. The same times as you would drink a fruit juice, which is what is seems to be albeit with alcohol included. For me a glass of wine is a wind down relaxing time, a treat to enjoy.

I did notice the lower calories yes as one friend testing alongside with me is currently dieting and so was concerned.

Overall it's not something that I would buy or drink again. Having drank some lovely wines previously this would never compare. One previously wine hating friend has been completely converted however and can't praise it enough.

TheElephantIsADaintyBird Wed 06-Feb-13 08:16:26

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? I tried the white wine and I really enjoyed it, so did my DP smile

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? it's a nice light taste, not to strong like some other wines. Quite fresh and fruity, but also a bit watery.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? I suppose I would, but I wouldn't highly recommend it. It's nice and great for summer. It would be perfect for having a couple of glasses while the kids are around without having to turn to alcopops.

4. * would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?* a hot summers day with the kids running round. I like something a little heavier in taste during the winter months.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? I do now! I would probably drink it while dieting, I don't diet very often though.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share? yeah it's a nice drink, don't think I would drink it very often though.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
Rose... DH summed it up on FB...
Regarding the product test of some low-alcohol Blossom Hill rosé wine on behalf of Mumsnet:
DH: Yurk... It's like wine, but without the bite!
Me: Yum... It's like wine, but without the bite!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I really liked it. Sweet but not too sweet, no nasty after taste and I really liked it. I thought it was quite light and refreshing.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would but probably to friends who (like me) aren't big wine fans. DH didn't like it and he does like a good wine, so it's probably not one he would recommend to fellow wine drinkers.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Tonight's wine testing was good. I'm now sat on the sofa in my PJs, drinking wine and on MN. DH is currently washing up grin

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Not before the test, but I did read it on the bottle label

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I'd definitely buy this wine again and have happily drink a glass full, don't feel giddy and quite enjoyed it, which is rare for me. Usually I have a mouthful of wine and either fill up the glass with lemonade or pour it into DH's glass blush

SirBoobAlot Wed 06-Feb-13 21:37:12

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

White. Immediate reaction was that it smelt beautiful. I am normally useless, and read all this 'with hints of' stuff on the side of the bottle, and can't tell the blindest bit of difference. I actually could with this!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Half way between wine, and a pleasant fruit juice. It was sweet, but not actually as sweet as I had been expecting after seeing the numerous times 'sweet' was mentioned before opening it myself. Was probably just right for me.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes to my friends that like sweet wines. Already have text a few of them actually grin

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

Hmm... Any time, really. Currently sat here with a glass of Vie, watching rubbish on the TV and a slice of cake. Can just as easily see myself sitting in the sunshine in four months time in the garden.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I did indeed. Another tick in the box. Low calorie, low alcohol and full taste - I'm impressed!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Thank you for letting me try this. Pretty certain I will be buying some in the future smile

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white, it was fresh and fruity, reminded me more of sparkling juice such as shloer rather than wine though!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Fruity and sweet, but not sickly! No bad after taste.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend as something light, fruity and non offensive. Personally, I found it lacked a bit in body for a wine, and was more like a crisp and fruity sparkling juice.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
In the bath with a good magazine and a glass, chin chin! It would double up as a perfect summer wine !

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes, from reading material associated. I do not feel it's overly publicised on the bottle ; it states 5.5% alcohol on the front, has very small print on the back mentioning lesser calories. This is perhaps a missed marketing opportunity! I think the appeal could widen were this more blatant. I didn't instantly make the connection between the wine and 'Vie', although I like the name, it just didn't seem too obvious an association?

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Thanks for letting me try! Will probably explore the rosé for my mother who tends to get rather squiffy on a normal glass.. She may even manage 2 with lessened calories and alcohol percentage ;)

PutOnAHappyFace Thu 07-Feb-13 11:36:13

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rose, it was really nice. A lot nicer then i thought it was going to be.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Its very mellow.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes i would recommend it, its very easy to drink with a nice flavour.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Friday evening with DP watching telly.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No i didnt know.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Really nice wine that i would buy.

KindleMum Thu 07-Feb-13 13:55:13

1. White

TheLightPassenger Thu 07-Feb-13 18:44:02

1.Rose
2.Fruity, slightly tangy at first taste, but actually quite sweet
3. No, but only as they are unlikely to be interested in lower alcohol wine.
4. After dinner
5. No, but would have imagined lower alcohol wine to have less calories in general.

Thanks very much

2. Nice and sweet.

3. Yes I would, nice and refreshing

4. Nice summer evening, DD fast asleep and just relax in the garden

5. I didn't no but it deffinatly makes it more advertising to me.

wine

TenaciousOne Fri 08-Feb-13 08:16:14

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rose, it was lovely.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Fruity and sweet
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I don't normally drink but ended up drinking two glasses and the next day I woke up feeling fine and the taste was lovely
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Spring, out in the garden.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No I didn't
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I agree with the Vie/Vile.

TaperJeanGirl Fri 08-Feb-13 15:03:35

Finally got around to drinking it grin

1. Which vie variant did you try- white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rose, I thought it was lovely, nice and refreshing and almost like a soft drink.

2. How would you describe the taste of vie to you friends?
I would say it was like a really nice adult type soft drink, wouldn't say it really tasted like wine, to me.

3.would you recommend it to them?if so, why?if not, why?
I have some friends I would recommend this to, because they are mums like myself that have to wake for school run and wouldn't want a groggy head, or the inconvenience of a hangover, then I have other friends that wouldn't see the point of drinking low alcohol wine, they drink to get drunk, so I wouldn't recommend this to those friends.

4. What would be the perfect 'vie' time for you?
I would think on a hot summers day on a picnic or sitting out in the garden.

5. Did you know blossom hill vie has 30% fewer calories than. Blossom hill still wine?
No, I wasn't aware this can only be a good thing for me!grin

6. Nice as it is to drink, I think if I was buying wine, I would just go for normal wine, if for any reason I couldn't drink ( pregnancy/driving) I would just choose completely non alcoholic drinks, so for me, it's probably not worth buying again, I would be more inclined to buy it if it was 100% alcohol free.

Mmmm just making my place so I don't forget to answer (after all the wine)
It's Friday and I'm just sat with a large glass, so will answer these questions tomorrow smile

SirBoobAlot Fri 08-Feb-13 21:31:14

Just to say, a friend of mine came over for a few hours tonight, we were celebrating her wonderful exam results with fish and chips. Because she was driving she had a small glass of the Vie whilst I had a glass of regular wine, she was really impressed, said it tasted beautiful, and she would be keeping an eye out for it in future. smile

CheeryCherry Fri 08-Feb-13 21:50:13

1. I tried the Rose Vie, it was lovely!
2. Light, refreshing, fruity, delicate, fresh, slightly sweet, very drinkable!
3. Yes definately, we have a rose drinking book club, and have to be careful during mid week meetings...this could be a problem solved!
4.After lunch on a weekend, or most evenings...!
5.No I didn't know that, what a bonus.
6.I will be buying more bottles, to 'have in' of course. Thankyou for letting me test this! smile

kelzw84 Fri 08-Feb-13 22:34:52

I had to wait a few days after my bottle arrived to try it, as i was on a strong course of antibiotics, well worth the wait though.

1)which vie variant did you try, white or rose, what did you think?
I tried the white vie and was really surprised with how nice it tasted, not normally a wine drinker, but this went down very well smile

2)How would you describe the taste of vie to your friends?
I would say that it is a refreshing wine drink, that is sweet and fruity, and goes down well and that no mixer is needed with it.

3)Would you recommend it to them? if so why, if not why not?
Yes i would recommend this white vie to them as it is a lovely glass of wine that doesn't leave a nasty after taste or leave your mouth feeling horrible and dry

4)What would be the perfect vie time for you?
Is their a perfect time to drink this, in my opinion it's a perfect drink at any time, glass with a meal, few drinks alone after the kids are in bed to help me unwind and relax and great for sharing with friends ( a few bottles may be needed if sharing though )

5)Did you no that blossom hill vie has 30% fewer calories than blossom hill still wine?
Yes i did no which i think is fantastic and have told a few friends who are currently on diets and their impressed.

6)Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I am glad that i was sent this to try as i don't normally drink any wine as i find it gives me a hangover and always leaves my mouth with a nasty after taste and feeling dry.
This drink didn't, it's a lovely refreshing drink that is perfect to have at anytime, and is one that I will be drinking again for when i want a nice drink in the evenings to relax once kids are asleep, and it is definatly a drink for summer partys and bbq with family and friends

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I had the Rose. It was actually really nice! Even dh liked it.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

It is fruity but not too sweet, with a tiny but if sparkle. It is very refreshing.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would. It has actually surprised me how much I did enjoy it. I think I need to try the white now so you can send me more if you like wink

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

After a hard day at work. I could have a glass without the hazy head in the morning.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I didn't know that and although I wouldn't say that it would be my sole reason for buying it (I'm afraid taste always comes first) it would make me think about choosing Blossom Hill Vie over other wines.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

I have to say I like the fact I could drink it and not have a hazy head in the morning. It is something that I may consider having on a weeknight if I ever fancy a glass.
I think Blossom Hill have hit onto a winner here

MaryIngalls Sat 09-Feb-13 13:16:02

1. I tried Blossom Hill Vie White wine. It was very nice, I like sweet wines.
2. It tasted quite fruity without an aftertaste.
3. I would recommend Blossom Hill Vie White to my friends.
4. My perfect "Vie time" would be while entertaining friends (after kids are in bed).
5. No, I wasn't aware that Blossom Hill Vie had 30% less calories - added bonus!
6. Nice for people like me who usually don't like the taste of alcohol.

Cubaba Sat 09-Feb-13 16:13:53

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I had the Rose. Smelt very fruity on opening and pouring. Was glad I received what I had requested

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Fruity, light and more-ish. Light sparkle but this does fade. Best to drink the bottle in a day or two after opening (I'm assuming there are folk like me who take more than an evening to drink a bottle of wine!)

Potential lethal to those who aren't very good with alcohol (like me!) who can get a bit tipsy after one glass (erm...like me!).Because it's so light and fruity you can sometimes forget you are drinking an alcoholic beverage!

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Would definitely recommend it. Great for a lunch time tipple, or after work if you didn't fancy anything too heavy.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
I feel quite naughty having a small glass in the middle of the day - but I do think it makes for a great lunchtime tipple.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No idea.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Think I should try the white to compare...any chance of another bottle? wink

Thanks for choosing me to take part!

Babycarmen Sat 09-Feb-13 18:20:18

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white, I thought it was really lovely. I'm not a big drinker and prefer lighter wines and I was very impressed so will most likely be buying it in the future! I'd love to try the rose version too.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I would describe it as light, fruity and sweet. It tastes a bit like flat lambrini but MUCH nicer.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend it. It's really enjoyable when chilled and worth a try!
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Sitting in the garden on a warm summer evening, spending time with friends and having a gossip!

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? I didn't until my sister pointed it out on the bottle, it made me like it even more!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Just that I am most impressed and glad I was chosen to test this.

Paiviaso Sat 09-Feb-13 18:51:15

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
The white. I thought it was really nice - I love very sweet, fruity drinks so this was right up my alley.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Very sweet, tastes of pears.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend this wine, but only in certain situations due to the low alcohol content (I think one of the attractions of a glass of wine is the relaxing effect of the alcohol). For example, I have friend who likes to join in for a glass of wine, but really does not like to get tipsy. I think she would appreciate a light, sweet-tasting low alcohol wine like this. This would also be an appropriate wine to have over lunch, especially if it is too hot out for alcohol, or you need to get back to work/other activities after lunch.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
I imagine drinking this on a hot summer's day at lunch or in the afternoon.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I did notice this on the bottle. Caloric content probably wouldn't be a factor that would influence me when choosing a wine, but I will keep it in mind.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
The sweetness of this wine will put some people off (my boyfriend thought it was awful for that reason) but for those who enjoy a sweet wine this is quite pleasant, especially as it doesn't have the harsh after taste of full alcohol white wine.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the White. Shared the bottle with my 18-year old daughter, it disappeared quite quickly and didn't feel as though we'd over-indulged which was good!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Light, fruity and refreshing.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, especially if they didn't want to feel as though they'd drunk too much and needed to keep a clear head.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Maybe a family picnic or barbeque, where you wanted to celebrate with a little wine, but didn't want the hangover to go with it for the rest of the day.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes, but to be honest that wouldn't be a consideration if I was purchasing a bottle. I was a little concerned to read the description ' Reduced alcohol wine based drink with flavourings.' I would like to know what the flavourings are and think that allergy sufferers would definitely need to know this information.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
As a complete lightweight when it comes to alcohol consumption, it was nice to have a few glasses of wine without the associated hangover. On the whole, quite enjoyable - thank-you.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
We tried the rose. Five of us shared the bottle. I really liked it. Thought it was sweet and pleasant with no nasty aftertaste. My mum thought it smelled of strawberries. My dh thought it was too sweet as he prefers dry wines, he thought it was bland. Other two testers enjoyed it.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I would describe it as very pleasant and suited to people like me, who don't usually drink much wine, or aren't too keen on a high alcohol content. I would say it was sweet, flowery and fruity.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes , I would reccommend it foir the reasons above.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
We enjopyed it with some pizzas before going out to see a show. I would also drink it on summer evenings.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Calorie consideration wouldn't really be an issue for me. However, i do feel alocohol is wasted calories. My dh who would proably benefit more from a low calorie wine probably wouldn't choose to drink this again.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Clearer and more detailed labelling would be good. I would buy this as an alternative drink to the schloer type stuff I usually drink instead of wine.

Thanks very much for letting us test it

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rose. I was pleasantly surprised actually, I'm not a big drinker, I rarely drink outside of special occasions so it was a nice treat to sit down at the end of the day with a small glass.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
A nice fruity taste, without the horrible acidity some wines can have. Even after being open a few days in the fridge it still tasted crisp.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
If they asked then I suppose I would. I liked the taste rather than any specific marketing gumpf. Tbh, as I'm not a big drinker I can't say I noticed it being particularly light blush. Am clearly a massive lightweight. But as I'm still bfing a ten month old, I didn't feel as guilty as I might otherwise have done in having a little drink.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Ignoring the tackyness of the question, I sat and drank this after the drudgery was finished for the day, all the dc in bed, washing machine on and reading my book MNing

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No. It's not calories that interest me tbh, and it wouldn't make me choose it over a different product- there are no calories in wine, to dispell that myth and to try and make me believe otherwise would be wrong wink

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I don't know wether this is a product alkready available or if the bottle we got was a mock up. But I think it might be good to make it more prominent that this is a low % wine. I'm not at all clued up on the normal % so it wouldn't necessarily stand out to me as a 'light' wine just from the label that was present. Also, and this is just me, the name 'Vie' just grates for some reason. It sounds like it should be on the shelf with the Tena Lady. But all in all, I did enjoy the bottle I had and will probably buy it again, so many thanks smile

MrsShrek3 Sun 10-Feb-13 23:07:43

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? rosé. Liked it much more then other rosés I have tried

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? light fruity and has a nice after taste

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? yes definitely. I'm not usually a rose drinker but would definitely get this for summer. The low alcohol but "proper wine" taste really impressed me.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? nice quiet evening, with the dh, a meal and a glass or two - and it could be a work night shock

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? no (and sorry but not really something I would consider)

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share? I'm converted. I like that it doesn't have that sharp or vinegary taste often found with rosé. Quite a bit sweeter than I expected (good) and I liked the light fizz. Not "fizzy" or "sparkling" as such, just nice and light.

mummylin Mon 11-Feb-13 12:57:13

Which variant Vie did you try? white
How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? Nice fruity and very pleasant taste
Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? yes I certainly would, and it is ideal for lighter drinkers.
What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? Relaxing in front of the tele in the evening with nibbles and wine
Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? this is something that I don't have to worry about as I am only small anyway.
Any other thoughts you'd like to share? Would like to try the rose as it contains my favourite fruit [hint hint ]

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I tried the rose wine, surprised it tasted very nice.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

I would describe the wine as very sweet and light. I could taste a fruity strawberry flavour. It also had a slight fizz to it which was nice.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend the rose wine as it isn't as strong as the usual rose wine i drink and didn't leave me with a headache the next day. It had a light, crisp taste which i think will be good for people who enjoy drinking wine but dont want the hangover feeling the next day.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

All the housework done, DD in bed asleep then a nice glass of chilled wine in front of the T.v. (with my feet up)

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

No i didnt kno that , though i dont really look at calories when i choose a wine.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Just wanted to say i really enjoyed the wine was very very happy to have gone to bed and woken up feeling refreshed even though i had alcohol the night before.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? light fruity and sweet

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share? I am hooked!

MrsB29 Mon 11-Feb-13 16:13:49

1. Rose. The first mouthful I wasn't sure, but after that it was fine, didn't really taste any different from fully alcoholic rose! I would buy it.
2. Summery, not the sweetest of rose - it still tastes like wine instead of fruit juice.
3. Yes. It is a good alternative to fully alcoholic wine, more of a treat than sparkling fruit juice.
5. I thought it would and saw it on the label, always a bonus.
6. Probably not one for the wine snobs, but nice enough.

vincenta Tue 12-Feb-13 14:10:17

Can you imagine?!!!? I get cold day before I received my Blossom Hill Vie! Sometimes life is unfairsmile)) My wine bottle waited in fridge till yesterday! But I would agree that good thinks come to those who wait.It was really worth the waiting to try this lovely elegant and fruity wine!
1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I tried white Blossom Hill Vie.Elegant and Fruity one! I loved it! So light and fruity! I usually choose white wines and this bottle of white Blossom Hill Vie with reduced alcohol was sweet and fruity, very refreshing with lovely aftertaste.Loved it!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Light and fruity wine based drink with lovely pear and apricot taste with right sweetness and pleasant aftertaste.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

I definitely will reccomend this lovely wine based drink to my friends, because sometimes you want to drink something with low alcohol, but all drinks which have 5-5,5% alcohol usually are cider, bear or different premixed cocktails. Blossom Hill Vie is something completely new and different. Some new experience to enjoy wine with less alcohol. My friends, who are also mum, would love this wine, because you can have one more glass without guilt or fear that you can get drunk!

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

I like Vie and for me it is perfect, that's why I don't need perfect time for Vie,if I have perfect drink than every time I will have it it will be perfect time!

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
For me it doesn't matter how much calories are in Blossom Hill Vie, I don't count calories and if I like something which is tasty no matter drink or food I will have it, because life is too short to have compromises, I like tasty food and tasty drinks,it is my guilty pleasure!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Thank you! I really loved Blossom Hill Vie, lovely wine based drink,so fruity and sweet, loved this apricot and pear flavor!

troyandabedinthemorning Tue 12-Feb-13 18:16:43

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

The White- it was nice, the first mouthful clashed horribly with the crisps I'd eaten immediately before and I wasn't exactly expecting it to be fizzy but it was great with cheese.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Fruity and floral.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would- I don't drink much and the slightest sip gets my dh drunk- this was the first time we managed to share and finish a bottle of wine in one night!

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
With my husband, relaxing when the children are in bed.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No! But thats good to know

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I thought it was lovely- like a posh lambrini, drink of my youth

1. White, and it was lovely. I'm not much of a white wine drinker as I usually find it too dry for me. When I do drink it I usually go for a sweet one, and then I can only manage half a glass because it gets sickly. This was neither dry nor sickly and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

2. I don't know, fresh? Not sure how to tell the notes etc.

3. Yes, because it tastes nice, the low alcohol thing isn't so important (though I suppose that is actually why I like it as the grapes will need less fermenting to be less alcoholic and so the taste is less harsh)

4. Well I don't drink very often, in fact the only time I do is when my best friend comes round for a chat so I suppose that would be the perfect time for me.

5. No, but I don't care, I don't worry about calories.

6. No, just to say thanks for letting me try smile thanks

Vagazzled Wed 13-Feb-13 11:03:56

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rosè and thoroughly enjoyed it!
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
It was sweet but crisp with a definite hint of summer fruits. Not quite as sweet as my usual Zinfandel but very satisfying. Had a nice 'bite' to it which in the summer I could see being lovely on a warm summers evening.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely. I'd buy it so they'd have no choice but to try it grin
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Summer BBQ.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I did! And as a SW follower, it pleased me!
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Wasn't expecting much from a low alcohol rosè as I usually find it not sweet enough. This was perfect.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

I tried White. I thought it was really lovely and I drank the whole bottle on my own! Usually DH has to 'help' me wink

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Very light and fruity. Didn't taste like alcohol really, more like a fruit drink (which is probably why I managed to drink it all!)

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

This is so light and refreshing that I think it could be drank during the week, after a hard day at work. I usually only drink on Friday and Saturday nights but could easily have this on a 'school' night.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

Yes, it means you drink it without feeling guilty wink

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

Just that I really enjoyed this. I will definitely be buying some more and will try the Rose too! Well done Blossom Hill and thank you.

Stujobohm Thu 14-Feb-13 10:45:51

Rose.... DELICOUS.
I would describe the taste as refreshing and easy to drink.
I would definitely recommend this its the best wine I've ever tasted.
I enjoyed this with a nice meal with my hubby once the kids were in bed.
Didn't know lower calories but that's an extra bonus!!
Maybe make the calorie content stand out on the bottle as think more people would buy if they new this.

Yes, I would, tasted great and was pleasantly surprised with the low alcohol content too.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

Relaxing in the evening when everything else is done. It would be really lovely outside on a summer's evening (trying to imagine that ever happening as I write this on a freezing day in February!)

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

No, I wasn't aware of that, bonus.

Rose, it was delicious, very easy to drink.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Fruity with a slight fizz.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would definitely recommend this wine, it's lovely.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

I didn't know that, it is a good bonus smile

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

No, the wine is great.

notasausage Fri 15-Feb-13 21:12:22

1. I tried the rose and thought it was lovely and sweet.

2. Sweet and fruity, a bit like shloer.

3. I would recommend it to friends for having a glass of wine without having your head spinning after one glass. My family are not drinkers so have little tolerance for alcohol.

4. Vie time would be summer sun but great for weekday evenings once the kids are in bed.

5. I didn't know it was low calories but I don't think that would influence me much.

6. Clearer labelling about what is actually in it and more about the lower calories.

Lozkv Tue 19-Feb-13 16:23:09

1. I tried the rose and loved it - very fruity and very moreish!

2. I would describe it as a a very light fruity wine where you can enjoy it for its taste, not for it's alcoholic effects ( doesn't say much for my friends does it?!) I actually ended up drinking the whole bottle on a girls night in and was very impressed by the lack of hangover the next morning.

3. I would definitely recommend it to my friends, they are all lovers of quite sweet rosé wines and I really think they would like the taste of this.

4. Perfect Vie time for me would be on a warm August evening in a pub garden by the river, it reminds me of Summer.

5. Wasn't aware that there were fewer calories, assumed that the main advertising focus was that it was low alcohol. Now I know, but it wouldn't be a main selling point for me.

6. My pre-perception of low alcohol wine was that it would not have the same amount of flavour as a standard bottle of wine and would never had considered buying any. Now, after having tried Blossom Hill Vie, I will certainly be looking for it and other lower alcohol wines when it comes to buying my next bottle. Thankyou!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

I would say it was quite sweet and had a lovely fruity taste

Definitely, most people I know are watching their weight and alchohol intake and it is an enjoyable drink that I would feel comfortable having a little more often than full strength wine

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

A summer evening with a barbecue

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?

Yes I did, and thought it was lovely to have a lower calorie wine that tasted so nice

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?

I found it didn't make me sleepy and my DP who gets migraines had some and felt it was something he could drink without getting a headache the next day.

Just wanted to add to my previous review, that my lovely Blossom Hill Vie white was perfect as midweek treat for adults. We tested wine drink again, this time together with my hubby on St.Valentines day. HE really enjoyed it! Because it was perfect in all ways, he don't like wines because they are usually not enough sweet for him,Vie however was fruity with right sweetnes.
Most important thing was that it contained only 5 % of alcohol, as my husband usually didn't drink alcohol drinks in working weekdays,he didn't minded to drink wine. and white Vie so lovely accompanied our romantic meal! Thank's again!More I drink it, more I love it!!!

MrsShrek3 Wed 20-Feb-13 21:48:37

another add-on. It kept beautifully in the fridge. some wines don't taste nice when they've been opened and stored, but this did smile

Nightfall1983 Fri 22-Feb-13 14:55:19

Sorry that it has taken me so long to respond - I was waiting to do it on the laptop rather than iPad as it is easier to type and forget. I can't even blame the wine as it is low alcohol must be the baby brain

Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? I am a red drinker normally, I rarely find a white that I like and don't really bother trying so I asked to try the Rose as whilst I wouldn't normally choose to have Rose I am less fuss about it - I got sent the White hmm. TBH I wasn't expecting to like it much at all, but I really really did. I would definately buy it again as long as the price was sensible.

How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? It was fruity and light and sweet and very drinkable.

Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? I definately would. I have tried alcohol-free wine before (not sure if I have tried low alcohol wine) and it was rubbish. With this I'd never really have known it was low-alcohol and it tasted great.

What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? Sunny summers day, in the garden with a BBQ with family and friends.

Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? I do now grin. I actually think that this is a great selling point and should be prominently displayed. If you can work out the WW points or SW syns of a glass then I think this would make me chose this wine over another.

Any other thoughts you'd like to share? I liked the bottle/label, it looked light and fresh and was quite representative of the wine. I do not like the name, to me Vie has negatve conotations - it means to compete or to fight - and is actually quite off putting.

Nightfall1983 Fri 22-Feb-13 14:58:11

Oh forgot to add, contrary to some of the people on this thread I did not think it tasted like Shloer, which is a good think as I dislike the taste of Shloer!

Fairypants Fri 22-Feb-13 16:24:14

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
We tried white. Tbh we weren't impressed.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Very like cheap white wine spritzer
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? Only of they want a spritzer. If you think you are having a glass of wine, it is disappointing.
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? I'm not really keen on it so na
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? No but I feel the reduced alcohol is more of a feature for me.
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
We also made the vile association. I would be more inclined to like it if it was marketed as a ready mixed spritzer rather than wine as it is clearly watered down wine and I would feel cheated if I bought it thinking I was getting actual wine.

llynnnn Fri 22-Feb-13 22:49:44

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the rose, I enjoyed it, it tasted sweet and fruity, exactly my kind of wine!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Sweet and fruity, like summer fruits, strawberries. It was refreshing.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend it, particularly because it has a lower alcohol content so it would be ideal for the odd drink in an evening

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Having a good friend or my sister round for a catch up/gossip/girlie evening in smile
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
No I didn't, but that makes it more appealing at the moment as I am 'trying' to follow weight watchers!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I enjoyed it and would buy in the future. Thanks Blossom Hill and mumsnet smile

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the Rose. Was surprised on how nice it was

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
A bit fruity, quite refreshing. I usually drink Schloer and it reminded me of that

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. I think they would ignore me though as they are all hardened drinkers. I am a lightweight grin

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
barbecue in the garden on a nice hot day

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
only because I read the blub

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Can I test a bottle of white - just to compare

I already answered all these questions on the other thread, can't find it now to copy and paste so will answer them again grin Does that mean I get two stabs at winning a prize?? wink

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I was sent the Rose, which is what I had stated as my preference. I loved it. Nice taste, sweet but not too sweet (have since tried two other brands of lower alcohol Rose, one was wayyy to sweet and the other was too watery)

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Refreshing, a cross between a sweetish rose and flavoured sparkling water. Actually, it is nicer than that but am struggeling to think of the correct desciption.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would, if they were looking for a lower alcohol wine.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
Early on a Friday evening, whilst dh is at the kitchen table reading the paper and helping me prepare dinner. A lovely glass of Vie with the promise of a lovely weekend ahead smile

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I assumed so due to the reduction in alcohol. But it is nice to have it confirmed.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
The nicest low-alcohol wine I have tried (had never tried any before the Vie but have since tried two others as I could not find Vie in the shops) and definately one to keep a bottle or two of in the cupboard to enjoy at the weekends. Am also planning on taking a few bottles to the girls-night-in at a friend's house next Wednesday - we all work in a school and mid-week drinking just won't do!! But a few bottles of Vie t share will surely be allright...grin
Thank you for letting me try it.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?

Rose- Loved it really nice taste.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?

Really refreshing nice and sweet.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes it's nice tasting bottle of wine
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?

A few glasses with my friends.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I think it's a great idea reducing the calories

Wowserz129 Sun 24-Feb-13 01:28:05

1) I tried the rose wine
2) I would describe it as light and fruity. I was very impressed as I was worried the low alcohol would compromise the taste but I enjoyed it very much so.
3) I would recommend it to friends , was a lovely wine
4) snuggled up with chocolate and a movie
5) you would never know as tastes great

Will defo be buying this again!

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? White, I found it pleasant enough to drink and I'd buy it again.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? a light fruity taste, like a non fizzy spritzer, quite refreshing
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? I think I would in passing and would buy some for BBQs so they have to try it.
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? It may be wishful thinking but I thought it would be suited to a glass of wine outside in the evening.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? I saw that on the label, I would buy wine for taste rather than calorie content.

Thanks for the excuse to drink wine and feel useful in the process.

First off I bought 2 bottles of the white. Didn't realise there were free samples!

Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
White - and I can see having read through the comments I am in a minority, but I hated it - didn't even finish the glass.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
Sweet, fizzy and artificial
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Perhaps if those friends like alcopop type drinks I would, but to any wine drinkers, I would advise to steer clear.
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
my wake.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Would rather have a gin and slimline tonic.
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Nothing helpful

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think? White. I thought it was horrible. I love white wine and can drink most things. This wasn't worth finishing

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? thin tasting, flat, artificial tasting, over strong melony taste

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? No. its gross

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? when hell freezes over

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? No. would rather be fat and drink good wine, I'm afraid.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
spend money on a decent bottle of New Zealand white and drink less of it.

<disqualifies self from prize draw>
Further to my feedback below, I've just seen the ad on MN. No. No no no no no no. Yummy Mummy? Noooooooo. Please rethink the campaign. Nothing is less likely to make me want to buy a product. It's just lazy. <helpful>

<also gets added to disqualified list>

I thought the same when I saw the ad. V yummy, V mummy, V vomitty. Please cease and desist. That is awful, awful, awful and instantly cheapens the brand.
Just stop. Please.

I tried the white version. It was delicious. Crisp and light but still felt naughty enough! I would highly recommend this and have subsequently bought this wine for myself. It does. To feel or taste like a lower alcohol version. ?Vie time for me is after a hard week at work, kids in bed, sit down with a chilled glass,, mmmm! Thanks so much blossom hill! I have found my new, slightly less fattening tipple x

FlutterClutter Thu 28-Feb-13 13:29:25

Just popping on (even though I wasn't selected for this one) <not bitter> don't like sweet low alcohol pop anyway to agree about the dreadfulness of that ad.

Do women aspire to identify themselves as a 'sweet bubbly sober-ish yummy mummy' - really? Maybe they do confused

Sorry I'm late to the party!
1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
White. I thought it was ok, but thought it had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. I've drunk worse though. That probably says more about me than it does about the wine.
2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends? A bit like Lambrini.
3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not? Probably not. My friends who like wine would generally prefer a drier white, I think. I think it tasted 'cheap'. Sorry!
4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you? Later on in the evening, after I've already had a few.
5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine? No, I didn't.
6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share? I was a bit disappointed to be honest. I like sweet wines and I was hoping to find a new favourite. I didn't, I'm afraid.

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I tried the white which was lovely, I tried it with dp and he enjoyed it too.

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I would describe it as a smooth fruity wine.

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it and I have to a friend who is always dieting but loves wine, she was really interested in it and will be trying it.

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
The perfect 'Vie time' for me is a Saturday evening enjoying a relaxing glass of wine whilst watching tv with dp and the dd's.

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
Yes I did, both myself and dp are trying to lose weight for health reasons so this was a nice treat as we could enjoy a couple of glasses without going over our daily calorie allowance.

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I would definitely buy this wine again, I think in summer it would make a lovely refreshing spritzer. Thank you to Blossom Hill and Mumsnet for giving us the opportunity to try this.

1. I tried the white wine. I found the taste very sweet and refreshing, which is just how I like it, and was pleasantly surprised with all the different flavours.

2. I described the taste as being sweet and very light. I enjoyed it more with lemonade however, as I am not a big drinker and get drunks easily!

3. I have recommended it to friends, family and my slimming group! I love the fact it is reduced calories so I don't feel so bad having a few glasses on a special occasion. They have been prompted to buy it which has given mixed reviews.

4. My perfect Vie time would be sitting in the sunshine in a tidy garden(!) with a good book and peace and quiet.

5. Yes I did and that was the most appealing fact.

6. No other thoughts, but would like to range expanded if possible to other types of white wine.

wickedwitchofwaterloo Tue 05-Mar-13 10:48:14

Another late one, sorry! Only got round to having a glass or several last week so here goes:

1. Which Vie variant did you try - white or rose? What did you think?
I requested and got sent the rose, I thought it was lovely!

2. How would you describe the taste of Vie to your friends?
I thought it was a light and balanced taste, fruity but not overly so - agree that it reminded me a bit of Schloer. I lengthened my glasses with sparkling water which made them them really refreshing!

3. Would you recommend it to them? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely, as soon as spring properly arrives I think it would be a perfect drink for a catch up lunch

4. What would be the perfect 'Vie time' for you?
A nice late lunch in Spring, catching up over a bottle of wine and not feeling guilty about the extra glass!

5. Did you know Blossom Hill Vie has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine?
I did because I read it but I reckon this needs to be more of a selling point alongside the lower calories!

6. Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I think the advert does the wine a bit of a diservice

wickedwitchofwaterloo Tue 05-Mar-13 10:50:54

Argh! Posted too soon.

I think the ad does the wine a bit of a disservice and needs rethinking as I don't think the "yummy mummy" one is a good angle and is more likely to put people off.

Thanks for letting me sample it!

paranoidandroidwreckmyownlife Wed 06-Mar-13 00:59:13

Another late one, ooops...
1. I requested and received the rose. I usually drink white zinfandel which is a particularly sweet rose. The vie was lovely.

2. It was sweet and fruity. Less acidic and an easier drink than normal wine. A friend who doesn't normally drink for that reason loved it too.

3. Would definitely recommend. Great for girly lunches or nights in.

4. Vie time for me would be a warm summers evening in the garden. Bbq with friends.

5. Yes, love the thought of a good drink with fewer calories!

6. Yes. The advertising could ruin a wonderful product before its even begun.  Such a twee concept, very lazy marketing. Doomed to failure I fear.

I was lucky enough to be sent this bottle but unfortunately I hadn't been able to drink this until now and I can honestly say that this is an absolute ideal purchase for any mum with a young child that wants to enjoy a social/relaxing drink but still have a clear head afterwards.

It's extremely light and fruity perfect for a (optimistic) summers evening and will def be a fixture in my fridge!
