TheOtherHelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 12-Nov-12 09:53:31

We've been asked by the folks at Method to find 1,000 Mumsnetters to try out their Laundry Liquid 25 Wash Pump.

Method says: "This innovative liquid is changing the way people do laundry, with a sleek little bottle and a patent-pending, plant-based, hypoallergenic formula we call smartclean technology®. it delivers big cleaning power with just a few squirts, with a 35% smaller carbon footprint than conventional liquid and a lightweight pump bottle that's designed for easy, one-handed use. It's a lean, mean, stain-fighting machine!"

Please see here for more info.

Selected testers will be sent the product to try at home and will then need to add their feedback to a thread on MN (you will be emailed a link to this).

We're looking for a range of testers for this - it's open to all UK MNers with at least one child.

All testers who add feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £250 Love2Shop voucher as a thank you.

If you're interested and around over the next 2-3 weeks to take part please add your details here.

Thanks and good luck

MagiMingeWassailsAgain Mon 12-Nov-12 09:57:39

I would usually jump at something like this, but TBH, I have bought this. It smells nice. But it really doesn't work very well.

I have to keep it for only slightly dirty loads now. I won't be buying it again. It does smell really lovely though.

I do like method have a row of colourful bottles next to the sink!
Haven't yet tried the laundry products yet though.

MagiMingeWassailsAgain Mon 12-Nov-12 10:21:03

I like the orange surface spray cleaner, it smells gorgeous and works well. I was really disappointed with the laundry liquid but will stop going on about it now grin

XBenedict Mon 12-Nov-12 10:25:57

I am willing to give this a go and have filled in the survey. I need to find a detergent that doesn't make DS itch but also cleans the clothes. Have yet to find one I am completely happy with.

I am having a go because I want to see what it smells like and if it can do football kits. But I never get picked anyway. grin

DilysPrice Mon 12-Nov-12 16:09:39

Sparkling they're looking for 1,000 MNers to test it shock. Even you can't be too unlucky to be picked for this one.

But don't get your hopes up for winning the vouchers on the feedback thread.

lubeybooby Mon 12-Nov-12 16:10:37

I'd like to try! have done the survey. I LOVE things that smell nice, especially laundry and I've been tempted by method products for a while now.

shelley72 Mon 12-Nov-12 16:15:11

have done the survey. i like the look of method products but wonder if they actually work, or just look and smell pretty? hope i get the chance to find out!

RandallPinkFloyd Mon 12-Nov-12 16:23:02

Well yet again I've given it a whirl.

I sign up for every one of these bloody things and all I've ever tested was the shit Tesco washing powder that stained all DS's clothes and a tube of arse cream! (Although the arse cream was excellent and I have carried on buying it)

brighthair Mon 12-Nov-12 16:27:21

Damn I really wanted to try this but have no child sad
I have a horse <hopeful> so plenty of mud to test on grin

alemci Mon 12-Nov-12 16:27:31

have had a go. I like their products and they smell nice. The bathroom cleaner is lovely and the furniture polish.

Kveta Mon 12-Nov-12 17:03:20

I have never heard of Method, would like to try it out though! wonder how effective it is on bfed baby poo? <eyes exploding baby and laundry pile wearily>

TheProvincialLady Mon 12-Nov-12 17:05:20

I wish I had been selected for arse creamsad

I bet I don't get to try Dilys. grin I've probably got the wrong age DC or live in the wrong place or something. Ecover didn't want me to test their wipes and i am still smarting.

KVeta the Method stuff smells fab. smile So even if the poo stains don't wash out they will smell nice. <hopeful>

Why do you have to have DC to test it anyway? confused

DilysPrice Mon 12-Nov-12 17:14:31

The Ecover wipes were a bit rubbish Sparkling, you missed nowt.
But the thing is, if you try some wipes and they're not great then you just scrub a bit harder or spray some Flash on it. If your laundry liquid is rubbish then you have to run the washing machine for another hour to do it again, which is an actual PITA.

brighthair Mon 12-Nov-12 17:40:26

Sparkling - I did wonder that. I have enough sweaty mud horse crap covered clothes on my own without having a DC grin

Done. If it can clean DS's rugby kit it can do anything!

Exactly bright. Bit horseist if you ask me. sad

InMy what do you use to get mud stains out? Both DSs play football and I think the mud has changed lately. It doesn't want to come out...

Currently chuck the kit straight in a bucket with some "wizz" oxy stuff, or scrub with green soap before washing.

Done, would be nice to find non-itch washing stuff!

CelineMcBean Mon 12-Nov-12 18:01:34

If it can do washable nappies I will recommend... but I am sceptical it will cope.

Bicnod Mon 12-Nov-12 18:19:42

mummysmellsofsick Mon 12-Nov-12 18:38:37

Yes please!

Doobydoo Mon 12-Nov-12 18:48:23

Fluffycloudland77 Mon 12-Nov-12 18:50:36

S'not fair, just cos I dont have kids I cant enter.

<sulks & hides thread>

Hopeforever Mon 12-Nov-12 18:55:47

Can't be bothered with the survey, but we have been using it since Simply washing tablets stopped being available locally. So far so good, not itchy skin.

Done. I hope it's not itchy Hopeforever. I use Simply at the moment for that very reason but it doesn't always dissolve properly.

BobblyGussets Mon 12-Nov-12 19:00:46

I have entered. I am looking forward to see if will cope with all the mud DS 2 gets covered in in school angry

blondieminx Mon 12-Nov-12 19:00:51

Done smile

I love laundry <<saddo>> and would love to try a new product!

McPhee Mon 12-Nov-12 19:17:16

Hopeforever Mon 12-Nov-12 19:18:45

Oh yes theonewiththehair I had forgotten the white powder left on the others as it had not dissolved and there was me blaming my old washing machine!

Method also do refill packs

ImperialStateKnickers Mon 12-Nov-12 19:21:53

Getting worried now, I've signed up but I stopped using Ecover because it didn't do a very good job, and neither did the other 'save the planet' type I tried whose name I can't remember anymore.

choccyp1g Mon 12-Nov-12 19:31:06

I'll give it a try... I want to change from Persil as it is expensive and doesn't quite do the business with whites, but I don't want to waste the money on a whole pack of anything else.

Notgrownupinmyhead Mon 12-Nov-12 19:31:54

Ill have a go! If it can de-smell nappies and clean ds1's school uniform Ill give it a go! Im a sad laundry geek too. Ooh and we'll see about the tomato stains too

Done! I also love laundry <joins the sad club> grin

CelineMcBean Mon 12-Nov-12 19:41:12

I will happily lend a child to anyone who needs one to take part. On condition you take him for at least two nights <<books mini break>>

Fluffycloudland77 Mon 12-Nov-12 19:50:33

grin at CelineMcBean.

choccyp1g, Aldi washing powder beat Persil in the Which? consumer tests.

I use it and have very white whites.

Brightonite Mon 12-Nov-12 20:12:21

Oooh yes please!

Leafmould Mon 12-Nov-12 20:19:58

Yes please! Only using coop stuff at the mo, as kids are sensitive. But coop closing down soon, so need to find something I can buy at Asda. Can you buy method stuff at Asda?

I've signed up. I NEVER get picked though! Am interested to see whether it can work on baby poo/puke. Ecover doesn't, I find sad

ohmeohmy Mon 12-Nov-12 20:34:01

I signed up. Have used it before but not convinced. Seemed to give ds a rash. Usually use surcare even though not Eco. All Eco ones so far given rash and wash balls didn't get his muck off

Not heard of this but like the sound of it.

Bonsoir Mon 12-Nov-12 20:51:23

I am totally enamoured of Method Laundry Liquid!

Witchesbrewandbiscuits Mon 12-Nov-12 21:02:18

Ooh I would love to try something that potentially smells nice. Laundry products don't smell like they used to. Ha I sound so old. When did that happen? blush

JustFabulous Mon 12-Nov-12 21:06:22

That is the kind of survey I like. Just a few questions and nothing too ridiculous.

ScillyCow Mon 12-Nov-12 21:55:25

Love the smell of Method stuff.

bluebump Mon 12-Nov-12 22:12:20

Popumpkin Mon 12-Nov-12 22:59:37

Done (another laundry geek here!). I'll be upset if I don't get picked smile.

I've entered, I hear a lot about how great Method products are, would love to try this.

ShiftyFades Mon 12-Nov-12 23:51:05

Done, I'm a laundry freak, I can't keep away from the washing machine wink

<turns on the spin cycle.. Again>

EwanHoozami Tue 13-Nov-12 08:20:54

did I miss the bit where it says whether it's bio or non-bio? confused

I'd love to give it a whirl but DS2 has v sensitive skin

morethanmama Tue 13-Nov-12 09:08:58

Please choose me! I love method stuff!

pinkangelita Tue 13-Nov-12 09:35:38

Done grin

Lulumama Tue 13-Nov-12 09:52:05

done x

WingDefence Tue 13-Nov-12 09:55:06

Done. Never heard of Method before and definitely not a laundry freak so perhaps that'll swing it for me grin

Elfontheedge Tue 13-Nov-12 10:01:50

I've signed up. I've used ecover in the past and prefer an Eco friendly choice if I can get it and more choice on the market is a great thing.

Bellebelle Tue 13-Nov-12 10:50:01

Yes please, count me in

Yogagirl17 Tue 13-Nov-12 10:57:51

Count me in

monkeychambers Tue 13-Nov-12 11:20:14

Done, count me in.

Mondaybaby Tue 13-Nov-12 11:38:56

I've singed up too. I find laundry only smells nice when it is dried outside. It doesn't smell good when it is dried inside or in a dryer.

SparePants Tue 13-Nov-12 12:08:13

I used to use this to wash my DS's nappies and it did a great job. Love all Method products but I really hope they've sorted the dispenser out as the pump was absolutely crap.

LiveItUp Tue 13-Nov-12 12:11:04

Done. If I get picked and it does rugby kit and cricket whites, I'll be a life-long fan.

Here's hoping ....

jammietart Tue 13-Nov-12 13:54:50

Done. Have tried it before and was disappointed as I love the other Method products.

elfycat Tue 13-Nov-12 15:42:42

Done. I'm on some American coconut based laundry product at the moment, but it's not quite doing what I need (except the time DH put 5 times the amount that you're supposed to). Trying to be environmentally kind.

tutu100 Tue 13-Nov-12 16:03:07

Done, hope I get picked. fed up of buying washing powder/liquid that doesn't work very well, so hoping that it does as well as those of you who use it already say it does.

Another laundry geek (and laundry product tart) here. I love laundry, I actually look forward to choosing a new bottle and mixing and matching with the conditioner. <Needs a life>

snala Tue 13-Nov-12 17:43:55

Done. Will see how it fairs with washable nappiesgrin

NotNeeemo Tue 13-Nov-12 20:29:32

Done smile

Am on the hunt for a new detergent, now that my huge box of persil is nearly running out... which I bought to see me through maternity leave. DD is 2.5!

Abzs Tue 13-Nov-12 21:52:57

Why do I have to have a DC? My DH and I create enough filthy washing what with the cycling and the hill running and digging the garden and rebuilding the garage...

Rather unfair.

<puts filthy running kit in machine with Tesco washing powder>

SixtyFootDoll Tue 13-Nov-12 22:12:31

Me, me, me! I love laundry.

Puppypoppet Tue 13-Nov-12 22:23:49

Done - love their granite cleaner it smells gorgeous. If this smells as good it would be worth buying.

BuddhaBelly Tue 13-Nov-12 22:54:56

I have an unhealthy obsession with the smell of clean laundry grin Survey all done

Kewcumber Tue 13-Nov-12 23:04:14

Why do I have to have a DC? probably because they are targeting parents in their advertising and so they want to know what parents think specifically

aristocat Tue 13-Nov-12 23:28:44

me please smile

<wonders what on earth "granite cleaner" is, I just use waterblush>

Wowserz129 Wed 14-Nov-12 09:31:22

1000 mumsnetters grin bound to get picked!!!

Blatherskite Wed 14-Nov-12 09:49:59

I love the stainless steel cleaner, it smells lovely and almost makes the cleaning worth it wink

I'm willing to give this a go too

rafia16 Wed 14-Nov-12 11:25:44

have 2 kids aged 5 and 2, would like to try it

TheTempest Wed 14-Nov-12 12:48:45

Yes please- I have washing coming out of my ears with 2 DC and 6 puppies!

angell74 Wed 14-Nov-12 18:47:10

Two kids with allergies (one a big kid) and one kid who is constantly muddy - very difficult to live up to requirements. We have being trying the EcoEgg and it is ok - would love an alternative - especially because the Eco Egg has no smell at all.

meala Wed 14-Nov-12 19:05:47

OOh!! Like the sound of this! Hope I'm not too late

octonaughty Wed 14-Nov-12 19:16:49

Yes, would like to test - buy all sorts at the moment, v tempted by method stuff, it looks lovely but is pricey. Would be v pleased if it was any good.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 14-Nov-12 19:19:01

Hi - all welcome to apply - do add your details on the form here thanks

purplemonstermum Wed 14-Nov-12 19:21:40

I am interested.

NettleTea Wed 14-Nov-12 20:02:03

yep, happy to try it

Method bathroom wipes smell fantastic if anyone feels like trying them.

1944girl Wed 14-Nov-12 20:17:45

I have tried Method laundry liquid and found it useless.I love the minty smelling window and glass cleaner, also the general purpose cleaner and the stainless steel cleaner they all do a fine job.
I did not find the floor cleaner any good at all.

XBenedict Wed 14-Nov-12 20:29:47

Their wood cleaner is lovely, leaves the room with a subtle smell of almond.

XBenedict Wed 14-Nov-12 20:30:12

I will be trying the bathroom wipes next!

They are mint and something, yummy.

elk4baby Thu 15-Nov-12 15:49:32

I'd like to give it another go!

I tried the liquid when it just came out I think, a couple of years ago. But besides the nice smell, there wasn't much to it, it didn't work very well.
Has the formulation changed since then?

EmHo Thu 15-Nov-12 22:25:52

yes please

Louiseads1 Thu 15-Nov-12 23:05:25

Haven't come across method before and more than happy to give it a whirl and feedback my thoughts on it. Will three children including one under 1 month and a lorry driver hubby it would certainly be challenged to work ;)

notanothermumonamoan Sat 17-Nov-12 08:27:57

trying to complete the survey but the link isn't working

sparklystar Sun 18-Nov-12 15:14:41

Done fingers crossed the method products do look interesting

Witchety Sun 18-Nov-12 15:15:46

When do we find out?

I wondered that Witchety. Never get picked anyway mind. grin

Fluffycloudland77 Sun 18-Nov-12 15:18:33

I dont get picked as I dont have kids. Only kids have dirty clothes FACT.

I've got rid of the washing machine this weekend due to this and I'm wondering if the dishwasher really needs to be here.

Popumpkin Mon 19-Nov-12 12:32:43

Fluffy - it's not that only kids have dirty clothes, is that only MUMS do laundry - have you never seen washing powder adverts? grin.

SecretCervix Tue 20-Nov-12 11:46:29

When are the chosen going to be informed? grin

Witchety Tue 20-Nov-12 12:37:56

Still no news.... I've signed up for the cheese one now too!

helenthemadex Tue 20-Nov-12 15:57:54

would love to try it, if it can cope with my muck magnet kids it can cope with anything!

ThePoppyAndTheIvy Thu 22-Nov-12 11:31:34

PLEA TO UNIDENTIFIED TESTER!!! Someone applied to take part under the user name Doms mum but with an email address I can't get to work, and when I look her up she's not who I was expecting. If this was you, please can you PM me so I can get your email address and correct MN nickname? You've been picked but I have no way of telling you! Thanks

Hooray! Me too!

I'm on a 'not destined to be picked' roll

Maybe I should disguise myself as Doms mum

I'm in too, hooray. Looking forward to it, always a massive pile of washing in my house smile

SuePurblybiltbyElves Fri 23-Nov-12 10:12:32

I am the chosen one <preens>

They can obviously see how filthy I am from there.

SoupDragon Fri 23-Nov-12 10:14:07

I am also chosen. Bet it can't shift mud from white rugby shorts though.

I have DS1's white football shirt to test it on Soup. If it can shift the mud from it I will be seriously impressed.

SuePurblybiltbyElves Fri 23-Nov-12 11:19:45

riding gear here. And dog hair - not that I expect a detergent to deal with that.
Although... <hopeful>

lisad123 Fri 23-Nov-12 11:26:50

I'm going to test the reception school paint which is never washable as bottles suggest, dd1 pe which is muddy always and dog bed smile

SoupDragon Fri 23-Nov-12 11:32:39

DSs shorts have already been soaked in Vanish for 2 days and washed twice to no avail. Still, at least it it clean mud now!

SuePurblybiltbyElves Fri 23-Nov-12 11:37:27

<looks over shoulder nervously...>

SoupDragon Fri 23-Nov-12 13:12:14

No, Sue. I am confident that Method will turn them so white he will dazzle the opposition.

HuskyNiki Fri 23-Nov-12 13:34:50

i love method stuff and i dont like to use chemicals but have had a few bad reviews on this product so very unsure whether to risk my money or not. gutted i missed the test should be interesting

SuePurblybiltbyElves Sat 24-Nov-12 08:19:18

YY Soup, but save it for the feedback thread. That's fighting-for-the-voucher talk, that grin. Don't waste it on us.

LiveItUp Sat 24-Nov-12 09:41:10

WooHoo, I'm chosen. Excited about washing now. Can't wait to try it on DS1's PE shirt that came home this week - I washed it THREE times and it's still black! [ It's supposed to be white !! ]

SuzysZoo Sun 25-Nov-12 22:38:15

Hmm I am excited about trying this product but in my excitement I bought some of the "fresh air" one and tried it. I used only a couple of squirts and had to rewash everything as it stank the tumble dryer out (smelt like I'd just put stuff in the dryer without washing!). However, I will now try using the correct number of squirts and report in due course!

JustFabulous Mon 26-Nov-12 11:15:29

I was picked too!

The email went to my junk folder though so has been there for days.

Sokmonsta Tue 27-Nov-12 04:23:10

Glad I popped on here. Thanks to justfabulous I checked my junk folder and hooray for emails!

Now just need to see if this can shift exploding poop from the babies and whatever arts/craft/messy play dd and Ds have been doing at school and preschool.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 27-Nov-12 09:32:10

If our emails end up in your junk please do add us to safe senders list - you never know what you may miss out on!!

Mindingalongtime Wed 28-Nov-12 14:22:42

Merci beaucoup, Je l'ai recu, les directions pour usage sont en francais! Excuse mon francais!

theladylovescupcakes Wed 28-Nov-12 14:33:22

So I have received my sample today, but the directions are in French! Since I did German at school, would someone care to explain how I use it?? Vielen dank.

melodyangel Wed 28-Nov-12 15:05:42

I can confirm it doesn't mention anything about monkeys in trees but that's as much French as I know so please, please can we have the instructions in English.

Blatherskite Wed 28-Nov-12 15:17:07

Did you learn most of your French from Eddie Izzard videos melody?

If La Singe ain't dans L'Arbre, I'm lost too wink

SuzysZoo Wed 28-Nov-12 18:59:11

One I bought earlier says it's 2 squirts for light soiling and 4 for medium and 6 for heavy, but I have previously found this to be a bit inadequate. A further squirt needed if your water is hard. Squirt it into the tray thingy, I think, not directly on to washing. If very dirty you can squirt directly on to the washing.

I think this product is really good, it smell nice and washes clothes well, really pleased.

ilovesprouts Wed 28-Nov-12 19:14:03

i have not got mine yetsad.

JaquelineHyde Wed 28-Nov-12 19:52:34

Got mine delivered today thank you.

However, there is one major problem...The letter tells me to just follow the instructions on the pump itself, great I think as I haven't got a clue how the thing works!

However, the instructions aren't in English and they aren't translated anywhere!!!

So unless someone can send me some instructions in English I'm not going to be able to complete the product test.

Is anyone else having this problem? AnnMumsnet do you have any advice?

JaquelineHyde Wed 28-Nov-12 19:54:57

I see others are having the same issue blush sorry didn't read back properly!

Blatherskite Wed 28-Nov-12 20:12:17

I haven't got mine either sad

melodyangel Wed 28-Nov-12 20:22:19

McPhee Wed 28-Nov-12 21:37:41

Not got mine yet

They do know we're not french don't they??

Haberdashery Wed 28-Nov-12 21:38:20

I haven't got mine, yet, either. But I just checked the email and it says 'this time next week' which was six days ago. So I am not panicking yet...

TheOtherHelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 28-Nov-12 21:47:24

Bonjour madames...that's about as far as I can go! I'll let le client know about le situation and get an English translation for you all. Will post it here and email it to you. Je suis tres desole!!!

ThePathanKhansWitch Wed 28-Nov-12 22:00:15

Yehaw! Got mine today.

Blatherskite Wed 28-Nov-12 22:00:26

Mercy buckets Helen wink

I'm looking forward to receiving mine as I've just finished my last box of washing powder this evening. The basket is currently empty but I'm anticipating at least two loads in it by tomorrow evening.

BoomBoomBoom Wed 28-Nov-12 22:28:49

Ive not recieved mine yet sad

Got a lovely spotty box in the post today (hadn't checked my emails in a while).
Is it sad that I'm quite excited about my surprise present!
I've been saving up some tea stained woolies for just this sort of occassion.

headfairy Wed 28-Nov-12 22:37:31

I haven't got mine yet either and I've just used our last laundry tablet up so I hope they're not far away!

Notgrownupinmyhead Wed 28-Nov-12 22:47:16

Got mine today too.

Nappy day tomorrow.

Ou est la papier? Thats as far as I go.

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Thu 29-Nov-12 07:07:22

Je suis desole to report I have NO parcel. I do have a card from Yodel <spits>, could that be it? They're being coy about when they might re-deliver, if ever.

Bobolbach Thu 29-Nov-12 07:13:13

Received mine yesterday. Will let you know how I get on. Can't comment on the smell yet as have a stinking cold and can't smell a thing!

hettie Thu 29-Nov-12 08:10:54

Awaiting delivery of mine.....

MrsDeVere Thu 29-Nov-12 08:17:19

Awaiting delivery.
I didn't answer your email. Did I have to? I thought it was just to let me know I had been chosen <worried>

TheOtherHelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 29-Nov-12 09:55:37

Hi all - if you haven't received your sample yet, don't worry - it's on its way - you should have it in the next couple of days.

For those who have received theirs, here are the instructions in English pour vous...

first use: twist pump to open. pump until you get a steady stream

to wash: squirt liquid into drawer or directly into the drum

2 pumps= small load

4 pumps= medium load

6 pumps= large or very dirty load

if you have very hard water add an extra pump

to pre-treat: squirt a pea-sized amount on stain. allow to stand, then wash as usual."

Merci OtherHelenMN. <hovers for postie>

lisad123 Thu 29-Nov-12 10:37:01

Hoping mine comes today or tomorrow as PE kits will be home covered in mud confused

Hoping it comes soon, I have lots of bedding and a swim kit to wash! Is it cloth nappy safe at all?

pump until you get a steady stream. Snurk

JustFabulous Thu 29-Nov-12 10:47:18

7 squirts into drawer wink.

Washing loaded in.

Machine switched on.

Got a whole weekend of junior footy coming up....

HazeltheMcWitch Thu 29-Nov-12 10:53:45

Ooh, jealous that some of you have got your detergent already; I have not yet, and the washing pile seems to e growing by the minute...
Does is smell nice? Naice? I hope so.

SoupDragon Thu 29-Nov-12 10:53:56

<<struggles not to snurk at all that pumping, streams and squirting>>

HazeltheMcWitch Thu 29-Nov-12 10:55:29

You see, I am obvs much more innocent that y'all, as I read pump, pumping and think of farts. Have I turned into a 7yr old boy?

Mindingalongtime Thu 29-Nov-12 11:09:02

to wash: squirt liquid into draw or directly into stream

Do I need to go to my local river to do my washing?

Shouldn't it be drawer not draw? wink

TheOtherHelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 29-Nov-12 12:08:45

Oh it's all going jolly well isn't it...

Have amended post above!

maxybrown Thu 29-Nov-12 13:30:15

Mine not here yet waaaaahhhhh sad

aristocat Thu 29-Nov-12 13:33:09

none for me yet either sad

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Thu 29-Nov-12 13:41:12

Pumps grin

What is French for Pump, then? So I can <snurk> in Forrin?

HazeltheMcWitch Thu 29-Nov-12 13:58:12

péter, Sue. Je pet, tu pets, il pet, elle pet.

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Thu 29-Nov-12 14:23:17

No, that's not funny. No matter how it's conjugated grin.

Mine hasn't arrived yet. sad

Haberdashery Thu 29-Nov-12 16:28:11

Oh, it's quite funny. In conjunction with the pumping and spurting, it's making me think of those signs in swimming pools banning people from 'heavy petting'.

HazeltheMcWitch Thu 29-Nov-12 17:17:49

Je suis desolée sad. Péter really means to pump in MY sense of the word, ie to fart. But I love the word; when I was learning french at school, our french master's first name was Peter. And he was quite flatulent...

I still don't have my Method, so I don't really know what word they'd use, but boringly, to pump would usually translate as pomper. But a pump (eg of a bottle, as in 'use 1 pump') would be normally be un jet, je croire.

DazR Thu 29-Nov-12 17:23:38

Mine hasn't arrived either sad

noddyholder Thu 29-Nov-12 17:25:57

Mine arrived today Will give it a whirl this weekend

ilovesprouts Thu 29-Nov-12 18:24:08

still no show sad.

YouReethra Thu 29-Nov-12 18:27:09

Mine is here ! I have used it already although it s a good job I can read French as all the instructions are in French.

Does it just arrive by Royal Mail?

Witchesbrewandbiscuits Thu 29-Nov-12 18:49:54

Yeah by Royal Mail. I'm quite impressed with it already. Smells like washing liquid in the bottle but lovely and fresh on your clothes once washed. Hopefully it will soon land for those of you still waiting smile

Do you need Fabric Conditioner? I usually use Bold so don't have any.

Ruprekt Thu 29-Nov-12 18:53:50

Nothing here yet either HadForgotten

JustFabulous Thu 29-Nov-12 20:34:00

I have done 3 washloads. Really easy to use. Not sure about the smell of the clothes though.

WitchOfEndor Thu 29-Nov-12 20:35:14

Nothing arrived here either.

androbbob Thu 29-Nov-12 20:42:15

Waiting for mine too - there is a load waiting for the last load to dry before the next one goes in. Hoping it arrives tomorrow so I can try it out!

Notgrownupinmyhead Thu 29-Nov-12 22:15:30

Wewere, nappy safe! I used 2 pumps fnar fnar but will try 3 next load.

poppy1973 Thu 29-Nov-12 22:53:33

I am hoping that it will arrive tomorrow - as I have a pile of washing to do and no washing powder.

I am really excited about testing the product blush !!!! Hope it arrives in tomorrows post, I got really excited when I saw a small parcel today by the door - but it turned out to be dh ink cartridges.

Notgrownup- that's fab! Thank you!

alemci Thu 29-Nov-12 23:12:53

mine hasn't arrived either.

Viperidae Thu 29-Nov-12 23:15:19

I've had to go out and buy some washing powder as I was running out and mine is still not here.

Leafmould Thu 29-Nov-12 23:54:59

Me too viper.

Nothing here yet either.

IAmSheWhoMustBeObeyed Fri 30-Nov-12 07:40:15

So do you use fabric conditioner too? It would mask the Method smell wouldn't it?

IAmSheWhoMustBeObeyed Fri 30-Nov-12 07:41:40

Hoping for mine today too

Shinyshoes1 Fri 30-Nov-12 07:50:25

I would like to know the answer re fabric cond too

Do we use it as well ?

Leafmould Fri 30-Nov-12 11:00:40

I confess I did not read the ingredients on the website. I just believed hypoallergenic. It has enzymes in it, and brighteners. I am giving it a go, but in my experience, anything with enzymes in it will irritate my dd.

Witchety Fri 30-Nov-12 11:35:25

Is it just a pump that is delivered then? Something is waiting for me at post office.... Being redelivered on Monday!! Could this be it??

maxybrown Fri 30-Nov-12 11:38:12

Mine just arived, yay smile washing on already - just in time as sicky bedding to wash bleurgh.

On the ltter that came with it, it says on there to go ahead and use your fabric softener if required too smile

maxybrown Fri 30-Nov-12 11:38:40

Witchety -it could be, it comes in a box

SixtyFootDoll Fri 30-Nov-12 11:59:16

Oh how exciting, hope mine arrives today

InTheBoonies Fri 30-Nov-12 12:11:35

Did you need to sign for it? I have got a note from the postman saying I missed a delivery this morning and I need to pick it up from the depot?

I presume it's it!

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Fri 30-Nov-12 12:21:56

I just went to the PO and got mine, not signed for but a bigger box that I thought. Also spotty.

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Fri 30-Nov-12 12:22:54

Pomper is better, Hazel. Much better.

ThePoppyAndTheIvy Fri 30-Nov-12 12:28:46

Just got mine. I liked the spotty box - I thought it was something from Pudsey Bear at first. My main question would be why, oh why, for the love of god is it packaged in snow? Fake bloody snow? I opened the package in the lounge, not knowing what it was and now have snow everywhere!!

The larger bits of polystyrene are fine but the teeny weeny snow bits - really? hmm

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Fri 30-Nov-12 12:38:11

I didn't get SNOW!
I got polystyrene beans. WHERE IS MY SNOW?

I had polystyerene s shaped thingys, which look and feel like quavers grin

I want fake snow and a spotty box.

Im going to go and find things to wash now...

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 12:58:26

Mine's here.

The polystyrene chips aren't - I think they're maize. If you dampen the ends, you can stick them together grin ELC used to sell them as "Magic Maize"

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 13:02:32

I used them to make a moustache

ThePoppyAndTheIvy Fri 30-Nov-12 13:03:46

Am I the only one to get snow?! angry Well, that's just bloody typical that is!

If you want snow Sue, feel free to pop round with a dustpan & brush and help yourself grin

jennywren123 Fri 30-Nov-12 13:06:10

Instructions on mine all in English. Did someone tell them that I failed my French GCSE? actually GSE but don't want to show my age

I was looking forward to the challenge smile

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 13:07:01

Mine's French Waves Grade B certificate

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents Fri 30-Nov-12 13:21:14

I think you're right Soup - the Eco PolyBean.
I haven't looked at the instructions. J'habite dans L'EDGE, baybee.

Magic maize? That's DS1's activity sorted for tomorrow grin

BoomBoomBoom Fri 30-Nov-12 13:24:19

Mine has arrived.

We got lots o fpolystyerene in the box that DD is loving to play with :D she keeps saying "Postman brought me a present"

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 13:28:46

As an aside, even if you dampen a "Magic maize" moustache it doesn't stick to your face.

MousyMouse Fri 30-Nov-12 13:30:46

maize beans? does it mean I can put it in the compost?

aristocat Fri 30-Nov-12 13:44:29

I am still waiting for mine sad

Received mine this morning in a lovely spotty box with quaver things, yay!

DD is doing GCSE French so the bottle will actually come in handy - her revision this weekend is to translate and then do the washing grin

Rara27 Fri 30-Nov-12 13:48:25

Well mine arrived (at 730am thankyou mr postie), and I decided to wash my sons school shirts after receiving new english instructions of pretreating 6 pumps and an extra 1 for hard water....the mud and pen have remained so trying them for a 2nd wash with double the amount sad I just went on to read the ingredients info after seeing leafmould's comment. It all says non-irritating but I'm actually nervous to use on my dd's clothes now

trikken Fri 30-Nov-12 13:50:50

have recieved mine. am interested in how it will do. box looked pretty.

NiniLegsInTheAir Fri 30-Nov-12 13:53:31

Does it all come in one box?

I have to go to the PO later to pick up 2 parcels, I'm guessing one is this? Can't wait grin

Haberdashery Fri 30-Nov-12 13:56:31

Oooh, mine arrived! Thank you. I am going to do a wash tomorrow.

Blatherskite Fri 30-Nov-12 14:02:56

Mine has arrived!

I've got foamy 'S' shapes not maize.

I think you're all getting over excited about a spotty box though. Unless mine is different? It's just a brown cardboard box with a bit of spotty paper taped to it hmm

I so have French method though. Better go find some linge à laver

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 14:10:56

They are maize S shapes.

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 14:11:18

(I say maize because they are exactly the same stuff as the Magic Maize from ELC)

derekthehamster Fri 30-Nov-12 14:16:09

It worked on my husbands smelly deodorant shirts on a 30 quick wash, so i'm impressed with that. It does smell nice too.

3 pumps (a really small amount shock) because I use a water softener.

ilovesprouts Fri 30-Nov-12 14:25:46

Usage instructions:

first use: twist pump to open. pump until you get a steady stream

to wash: squirt liquid into drawer or directly into the drum

2 pumps= small load

4 pumps= medium load

6 pumps= large or very dirty load

if you have very hard water add an extra pump

to pre-treat: squirt a pea-sized amount on stain. allow to stand, then wash as usual. postie came with mine but was not in so i will get on sat i hope smile

What's with the 'Postie please be gentle' on the box? he asked me what it was. grin

Kewcumber Fri 30-Nov-12 15:32:41

Only carefully nurtured washing liquid is good enough for Mumsnetters!

I got mine this morning - is there going to be a thread for comments?

Kewcumber Fri 30-Nov-12 15:33:32

The polystyrene things taste like wotsits (ie of nothing)

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 15:38:01

<<wonders if she can serve them up as the carb part of tonight's dinner>>

Kewcumber Fri 30-Nov-12 15:51:07

Nice with a tomato-ey sauce.

Would they work instead of dumplings in a stew?

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 16:17:36

I think they may dissolve.

snowballinashoebox Fri 30-Nov-12 16:40:50

Mine is here too, right big pile of boilersuits meet your nemesis.

snala Fri 30-Nov-12 16:56:41

Still nothing here

thoughtsbecomethings Fri 30-Nov-12 17:00:56

just picked mine up, wash is on used 3 squirts, doesn't look a lot.....will wait and see. Where do we post reviews?

Indith Fri 30-Nov-12 17:04:02

I got mine today smile

I did all the wool jumpers today so the MEthod stuff is waiting until a normal wash tomorrow.

Mine will be christened on the football kits tomorrow. grin

Is there a feedback thread yet? Just done a load, for the second time hmm didn't smell clean after the first wash. Not impressed so far!

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 17:06:45

I have just washed the white cushion covers and throws that a muddy spaniel has been jumping on. Looks to have done a good enough job (4 squirts)

But I don't like the scent sad

PatTheHammer Fri 30-Nov-12 17:07:13

Got mine today, currently in with a load as I type. Used 5 squirts as I thought 4 wasn't enough....big washing machine.

DS loved the box, running round using it as a space helmet earlier.

Where is the feedback thread?

crunchbag Fri 30-Nov-12 17:10:47

Same here Sparklingbrook grin

Yes crunch a nice white football top. An excellent test. grin

crunchbag Fri 30-Nov-12 17:15:11

yellow goalkeeper shirt and light blue socks here.

Ooh are you a goalie Mum too crunch? Both DSs are goalies. Means I can't look for most of the match. sad

FlappingToad Fri 30-Nov-12 17:18:58

The Mr Tumble box arrived and a snow decoration was made out of the curly things. <shoot me>

1st wash now on, mixed colours on a 40 wash. The smell is quite subtle. I threw in one horribly marked slipper to see if the liquid would cope.

BeerTricksPott3r Fri 30-Nov-12 17:20:15

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

I think mine is waiting for me at home: DH "a big thing has come for you?"hmm so I'm guessing this is what it isgrin

I think DKitten is going to enjoy the maize/snow

SoupDragon Fri 30-Nov-12 17:27:28

DH "a big thing has come for you?" hmm so I'm guessing this is what it is grin

Either that or it's your lucky night grin

MrsJohnDeere Fri 30-Nov-12 17:33:50

Mine came today. Postman was deeply unimpressed with the huge 'postie please be gentle' sticker!

MousyMouse Fri 30-Nov-12 17:34:48

washed some bedding today.
very foamy compared to the powder I usually use. smells nice but have o wash something really grubby to see if it gets stains out.

TheOtherHelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 30-Nov-12 17:44:58
foxy6 Fri 30-Nov-12 17:49:16

mine arrived today tackled a normal wash ok and now have it on with ds uniform that was stinking when he came home form school. and this is the 15yr old not the 5yr old confused will see how it tackles that.

SweetMingePie Fri 30-Nov-12 17:52:10

Mine arrived today, will be using it this weekend.

crunchbag Fri 30-Nov-12 18:00:20

sparkling he has been doing it for a few years now so I am alright watching. though he looks quite small now they have moved to a bigger size pitch and goal.

I hate that crunch DS1 is on a full size pitch and goals now and full length matches. sad

crunchbag Fri 30-Nov-12 18:18:08

DS is on a 9v9 pitch so it's not that bad yet. He plays in a lower division which is not that full on but it is slowly changing so I might start hiding behind my hands. And have an icepack ready.

MrsDeVere Fri 30-Nov-12 19:02:10

I just stuck a wash on. It contains DC5's lime green trackie bottoms. I have several jersey trackies from H&M and he wears them to nursery. I am fond of v.bright colours but they do tend to show the muck up in a spectacular fashion.
DC5 is also one of those kids who is euphemistically described as 'quite active'

If this stuff gets those trousers clean I will be rushing out to stock up first thing tomorrow grin

Received mine today, the 1st load is on grin

McPhee Fri 30-Nov-12 21:58:11

Mine arrived this afternoon.

The box confused the hell out of me, until I opened it and remembered about this blush

First wash going in in the morning

sparkling it wasn't my lucky night! Off to put the WM on

I'm off to the Leisure Centre to watch the freezing footy then the load is going in dm. grin

NiniLegsInTheAir Sat 01-Dec-12 12:04:29

Still havn't had mine. sad Am I the only one?

HarlettOScara Sat 01-Dec-12 12:16:35

Mine hasn't arrived yet either but I'm hoping it'll be here by Monday like the email said.

hurricanewyn Sat 01-Dec-12 13:48:23

I'm still waiting on mine - fingers crossed for Monday.

Shinyshoes1 Sun 02-Dec-12 20:55:15

I still haven't recieved anything even though I was accepted

HazeltheMcWitch Mon 03-Dec-12 00:00:27

I've not got mine either, and am jealous of those who have. 290 posts already on the feedback thread!

aristocat Mon 03-Dec-12 11:18:16

mine arrived on Saturday but as I was on a girlie-weekend only had chance to use it today.

<wails> I still haven't got mine...

NiniLegsInTheAir Mon 03-Dec-12 21:18:49

Me neither! sad

I have a parcel waiting for me at the post office but that could be one of a multitude of online xmas orders. Hoping it's this!

Notgrownupinmyhead Mon 03-Dec-12 23:40:27

Can someone please send me the link for the feedback fred?

lisad123 Mon 03-Dec-12 23:56:13
