Chicco have asked us to find 21 Mumsnetters to try out a selection of toys from their range with their little ones. Chicco say "Making a baby smile is the most extraordinary job ever. Everything we design has a single purpose; to enter a home, meet a baby and make him happy. Our range of toys is designed exactly with that purpose as well as assisting the babies at each stage of their growth providing them with the most suitable form of stimuli to help their development.

We work very closely with Osservatorio Chicco, our Baby Research Centre dedicated to growing our knowledge of children from 0 to 3 years of age and their psycho-physical, emotional and social needs, in constant collaboration with the medical-scientific world".

We have a variety of toys available for testing - please read the following and pick the one you'd like to try out. We have three of each of the below toys available.

~ Rainbow Cube projector "New concept projector with different images and individual colours or multi-colour changing effect that creates a colour- therapy atmosphere at bedtime with 3 types of melodies to help your baby sleep peacefully. Available in pink and blue" Age Suitability: 0m+. RRP £29.99. See the projector in pink here and in blue here

~ Bubble Gym Play mat "A new playmat with fun patterns and bright colours. The toy bar has 7 multi activity hangings and support an electronic activity panel with multi-coloured light effects, music and sounds including an mp3 connection". Quattro Sit 'n' Ride "A 4 in 1 toy that little ones will love thanks to the 4 different play modes that suit baby's growth right up to 3 years starting as a rocker, and eventually a Sit 'n' Ride from 18 months". Age Suitability: from 9 months - 3 years +. RRP: £69.99

~ Talking Kitchen "A fully kitted out kitchen with removable accessories full of activities to help develop coordination skills and imagination. Talking Kitchen is a bilingual toy and teaches alphabet, numbers, shapes, objects and much more in English and French". Age Suitability: 12+ months RRP: £39.99

~ Talking Carpenter "A workbench full of tools of the trade with a vice, tape measure, drill, hammer, screwdriver and saw - help develop coordination skills! Talking Carpenter is also bilingual and teaches alphabet, numbers, objects, colours and much more in English and French". Age Suitability: 12+ months. RRP £29.99

~ Talking School Bus "An entertaining interactive talking vehicle with 3 play modes including music, learning and quiz. It features lights, sounds effects and many melodies. Talking School Bus is also bilingual and teaches alphabet, numbers, shapes, colours and much more in English and French" Age Suitability: 18 months+ RRP: £19.99

~ Jimmy Thunder "Intuitive radio-controlled car with easy to grip steering wheel remote control to change direction. It also has coloured headlamps that come on when the car is moving and a roaring engine. Stimulates cognitive skills, imagination, fantasy and creativity!" Age Suitability: 2+ years RRP £29.99

If selected you will be sent the toy to try with your child and then asked to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet (we'd like testers to add first impressions and their thoughts after a further week or so) and also to add a review to the relevant section of the MN review area. You will be able to keep the toy.

Everyone who takes part and adds feedback as required would be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 of Chicco products they would be sent a catalogue and can choose the products they would like.

If you'd like to sign up for this product test please add your details by completing the form here

thanks and good luck smile
MNHQ
PS. Also this Christmas, Chicco is also offering a collection of "happy moments" rewarding each consumer who chooses to celebrate Christmas with its toys. Anyone buying just £29 of Chicco toys between 15 October and 31 December will receive a booklet featuring four great experiences, something for everyone in the family - visit www.chiccohappymoments.co.uk for more information. All testers will also receive this booklet and we'd love to hear your feedback on this on the feedback thread.

Id love to test a baby or a toddler please! If theres a preference, can I test a toddler, they're so much more interesting than babies... grin

P.S. Will you send my toddler by post or do I have to collect? And do I get to keep them when the trial is over?

Climbingpenguin Tue 16-Oct-12 13:18:05

Will be coming soon...do let me know direct of any issues with delivery etc...

PseudoBadger Fri 02-Nov-12 23:19:34

Sorry to be such an old worry wart..... But the Talking Carpenter is so very loud (as in makes it hard to hear conversation/tv etc). Obviously I will mention this in my feedback, but can Chicco please confirm that the toy conforms with BS EN 71-1, as it does not mention this anywhere on the packaging. Otherwise I'll have to stop DS using it.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 05-Nov-12 10:08:46

Hello PseudoBadger, Chicco first of all want to thank you for your prompt feedback and have asked us to pass on the following "Chicco is a very serious company and we care a lot about safety of all babies, we have been developing products for babies for more than 50 years, so we have a great expertise in this area, we have a Quality Assurance Department with hundreds of people working and testing every product we put on the market.

Not only do we totally comply with all the mandatory European standards, BS EN 71-1 included (each consumer can verify it with the CE symbol on the bottom of our packaging) but even if BS EN 71-1 allows the "autocertification", we use third party independent laboratories to certify our toys. This again underlines the seriousness we put in place when we develop a new toy for a baby, to provide him with the appropriate stimuli for his age and the maximum safety"
Chicco are very happy to swop the Talking Carpenter for another toy for you to try - let me know which one you'd like to try (or Chicco can make a suggestion) and I will sort this for you.
