oooh....pick me! pick me! I love Ambrosia custard and I love rice pudding....I The dcs would love this!!!

<keeps jumping>

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 19-Sep-12 11:35:35

Any chance you like Ambrosia Filly?!! grin

Fillybuster Wed 19-Sep-12 11:45:03

Maybe that's all wrong....I should have claimed to be a custard-and-rice-phobe who couldn't stand the stuff and wanted a chance to be converted!!!

I'll never get chosen now....sad

Low cal rice pudding....mmmmm.....

Think a trip to the shop is needed. I want one now grin

Done. Yum yum.

MTBMummy Wed 19-Sep-12 12:03:08

Done - DP would be over the moon if we got this
(whispers - I've never tried any rice desert before, what are they like?)

mumnosGOLDisbest Wed 19-Sep-12 12:06:18

Me me me pleeeeeeeaaaassssee!!!
I love rice pud, hot or cold. Not keen on a 'sharing' pot though. Do we have to share? smile

BornToFolk Wed 19-Sep-12 12:22:13

(whispers - I've never tried any rice desert before, what are they like?)

shock Never?! You have not lived! I bloody love Ambrosia, DS does too. Definitely signing up for this one!

Flisspaps Wed 19-Sep-12 12:25:48

I've submitted. My poor 2.5yo DD is terrified of the advert - leaves the room and is close to tears. They owe me a trial simply to compensate for the bloody trauma they're causing!

GOLDFaverolles Wed 19-Sep-12 12:32:56

Done smile

SweetSeraphim Wed 19-Sep-12 12:33:55

Done! I love Ambrosia grin

Pascha Wed 19-Sep-12 12:44:05

Mmmmmm...... Custard.....

No-one's fecking sharing mine though!

MTBMummy Wed 19-Sep-12 12:44:25

@borntoFolk nope never - I do love the custards they do, but I'm a foreinger so I never grew up with them and as an adult, it's just never crossed my mind to try (a bit like spotted dick or bread and butter pudding - but those names aren't exactly appealing)

ElectricSoftParade Wed 19-Sep-12 12:45:53

I don't just love Ambrosia, I LIVE FOR IT. It is one of my favourite things in the whole, wide world.

Which must be why my backside is so rounded.

ontheedgeofwhatever Wed 19-Sep-12 12:49:35

Done i love ambrosia but can't trust myself to have it in the house because its normally far from diet friendly - this sounds lovely smile

ontheedgeofwhatever Wed 19-Sep-12 12:50:14

or at least hte light does - will have to give DD a lot of the rest - sobs bitterly

sparklystar Wed 19-Sep-12 12:53:07

Done these sound nice

Scaredycat3000 Wed 19-Sep-12 13:09:12

Done, sharing custard, no way.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Wed 19-Sep-12 13:14:06

mmmmm yum

ooh I love Ambrosia rice pudding, I am a cold person (temperature wise that is, not personality grin) so I eat lots in the winter to warm me up.

Would love to try this and I'm not telling the DC's if I get sent the pots

ExasperatedSigh Wed 19-Sep-12 13:26:49

Me please! I am a fiend for Ambrosia, so will have lots of experience to draw from grin

JustFabulous Wed 19-Sep-12 13:41:48

Just started my kids on these and they are grin about them so would love for them to be able to try some more.

5inthebed Wed 19-Sep-12 13:43:06

Done. Love the stuff.

MumToTiny Wed 19-Sep-12 14:19:09

Done, but got an offline message - have I entered?

highlandbird Wed 19-Sep-12 14:32:32

done, but I never seem to get picked, grrr!

celebmum Wed 19-Sep-12 14:37:23

This thread has had me climbing on the worktops trying to find a tin of rice pudding in the back and beyond of the cupboards.... At 36wk pregnant this is no easy task let me tell u!!! grinblushgrin

GoldenPrimrose123 Wed 19-Sep-12 14:45:06

ilovesprouts Wed 19-Sep-12 15:28:41

mmmmmmmmmm done smile

urbanturban Wed 19-Sep-12 15:40:42

Ooooooh this looks amazing! Done !

DD1 has just started school and these would be a perfect addition to her lunch bag (she takes a yoghurt EVERY day at the moment which must get boring but it's too messy for a four year old to try and carefully open a Tupperware of rice!)

And obviously DH and I would love to try it too as we always 'steal' a bit of the DDs rice and custard when they are eating it ! grin

Maybe a little snack pot would be better for my diet instead of the massive tins blush

I bloody luffs rice pudding me

DoingItForMyself Wed 19-Sep-12 15:52:56

Done. Any free food is good food!

Done, hope I get chosen!

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 19-Sep-12 15:53:43

5inthebed and MumToTiny - yep forms in ok

LadySybildeChocolate Wed 19-Sep-12 15:57:44

WingDefence Wed 19-Sep-12 18:02:54

My DH eats absolutely everything given to him on a plate (thanks to DMil) apart from one thing: yes, you've guessed it - rice pudding so Ambrosia rice pots are the only way I can get my fix!

DairyNips Wed 19-Sep-12 18:09:57

Yum yum yum, done smile

Done. smile

Damn, I have just 'signed up', but then read the bit where you have to have a handy child... no delicious rice based snacks for me then...

Whirliwig72 Fri 21-Sep-12 17:45:17

Giz us a go! Yum yum! wink

SirGOLDBoobs Fri 21-Sep-12 22:10:33

Haven't eaten Ambrosia since I was a kid myself... I'm curious.

seven77 Fri 21-Sep-12 23:28:09

Done, really hoping I get chosen!

AmbrosiaCreamedMice Sat 22-Sep-12 12:57:41

I've had this name for ages. I should get a voucher simply for being me.

Blatherskite Sat 22-Sep-12 15:55:28

I mentioned this to DH and he got all excited and told me to apply.

He generally ignores whatever I get up to on MN so it must have been the mention of his two favourite snacks - Ambrosia and Rice Pudding in once sentence that did it smile

This looks interesting! smile

I've just submitted my form, first try for me as a tested loves rice pudding....mmmmmmmmm

IreadthereforeIam Mon 24-Sep-12 08:14:43

I would happily sell a child for a milk-based pudding... Might keep them though if they improve my chances of being chosen!grin

Fillybuster Mon 24-Sep-12 11:24:53

No email here....but the blurb on the product tests page looks like the 100 MNers have been chosen sad sad

Is it very pathetic that I wanted this nearly as much as the Philips chop'n'cook thing? hmm

Oh well....there's one critical difference: at least I can afford to go and buy a pot of rice pudding if I haven't been selected.....grin

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 24-Sep-12 11:34:11

Have just closed it selecting testers as I type!!

Blatherskite Mon 24-Sep-12 14:39:07

Will await my lack of e-mail

Fillybuster Mon 24-Sep-12 15:23:14

I've been having custard and rice-pudding thoughts ever since this thread went up....still no email - had better head off to Tesco and buy some for myself!

IsSamNormansDad Mon 24-Sep-12 16:38:02

Please pick me smile I missed out on the bread and the Homecooker!
<narrows eyes>

PuzzleRocks Mon 24-Sep-12 20:46:03

Yippee, thanks for picking me. Do I have to share?

mungojerrie Mon 24-Sep-12 20:48:33

hurray - we are looking forward to testing!

Blatherskite Mon 24-Sep-12 20:57:09

Gigondas Mon 24-Sep-12 21:01:44

LadySybildeChocolate Mon 24-Sep-12 21:07:21

Thank you smile

zipzap Mon 24-Sep-12 21:38:58

Did anybody else read the blurb for this on the product testing page and think 'what is Devon flavour?' grin

mentally hitting self - didn't apply as we don't like rice pudding but if I'd realised they were testing custard too... I reckon ds2 is about 80% ambrosia chocolate custard if they were to scan him to see what he was made of. that, cucumber and red pepper. hmm luckily there are several supermarkets around here so if one runs out I can pick it up elsewhere without too much trouble. heaven forbid they are changing it. fingers crossed it remains exactly the same or we'll be in trouble here...

RachelHRD Mon 24-Sep-12 21:53:00

smile Thankyou!!!

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Mon 24-Sep-12 22:06:54

Hurrah and thank you! [smile)

LadySybildeChocolate Fri 28-Sep-12 12:22:06

Ds answered a call from them this morning, asking what time was best for them to deliver. smile I can't wait!!

TheCunningStunt Sun 30-Sep-12 13:55:41

They are not calling from a blocked number are they? I've had two and ignored themblush and am not without much signal on my mobile for the next week as we are away till Friday

LadySybildeChocolate Sun 30-Sep-12 14:07:11

I'm not sure, ds answered the call. I do have an 'unknown' on my phone, with an 08452 number underneath it, which is probably them.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Sun 30-Sep-12 22:42:56

Cunning my call was from a blocked number

My call was from "Private number"

GoatsHaveStrangeEyes Mon 01-Oct-12 10:45:44

Does anybody have the number to call back? I had a message left for me to call her back to arrange delivery and stupid me deleted it by mistake sad

Was called from a withheld number so have no way of getting it.

sparklystar Mon 01-Oct-12 13:45:08

Should I have heard from them by now ? not heard anything so far and no missed calls

TheCunningStunt Mon 01-Oct-12 15:43:45

Weird. Wonder when I will here then

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 01-Oct-12 18:59:28

GracieGirl Wed 03-Oct-12 19:53:00

ratbagcatbag Wed 03-Oct-12 19:55:35

Ooog Gracie, I'm jealous and still waiting for mine smile hopefully they will arrive shortly to aid pregnancy sickness recovery smile

Ooooh. I hope I will get mine tomorrow.

Are they sent via Royal Mail or courier?

mumnosGOLDisbest Wed 03-Oct-12 23:09:23

im still waiting too. hope they come soon or i might have to go buy some smile

Wigeon Thu 04-Oct-12 11:53:11

Had the phone call, now waiting for the delivery smile.

Saw a very funny marketing thing for them in Asda earlier this week - a life-size screen in the shape of a woman, in the entrance to Asda, onto which was projected an image of a talking Asda employee, estolling the virtues of this new Ambrosia product range, and she had her hands cupped in front of her, while images of the different Ambrosia products were projected into her hands.

I am obviously exactly the target market for this as I think I have also seen a TV ad for it this week! It will take great will power to not immediately go out and buy about a zillion of these pots by the end of the product test, given the amount of marketing I have been exposed to!

LadySybildeChocolate Thu 04-Oct-12 12:35:31

Received mine this morning. Where's the custard?? sad blush

ShatnersBassoon Thu 04-Oct-12 14:52:04

I got mine this morning, 6 individual pots of rice pudding in a variety of flavours and a large put of plain rice pudding.

I like the box it came in. It will come in handy for something, one day...

LadySybildeChocolate Thu 04-Oct-12 15:14:45

Same here, Shatners. No custard! I like custard. The box is rather cool though.

TheCunningStunt Thu 04-Oct-12 15:32:04

Either today or tomorrow for me

RachelHRD Thu 04-Oct-12 16:33:37

Had the phone call last Friday but still nothing yet sad Curious about the box now too!!!

GracieGirl Thu 04-Oct-12 18:26:52

They came by courier.

Yes a very useful looking box.

I'm waiting for the feedback thread to appear as I didn't get an email to say what questions I'm supposed to answer about the rice pudding.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 04-Oct-12 19:56:41

Hi guys - we'll get some feedback questions up soon, promise!

SamsGoldilocks Thu 04-Oct-12 21:22:57

got mine today - love the box they came in. v. useful and magnetic and gorgeous, contents size rather disappointing in comparison.

mumnosGOLDisbest Fri 05-Oct-12 10:39:20

magnetic box? ooh i can't wait! and the puds too smile

Got mine this morning via ParcelForce, they came in a smashing box! Looking forward to ruining my diet later!

PuzzleRocks Fri 05-Oct-12 10:44:43

Love the box, will come in handy at Christmas.

I'm sorely tempted to tuck into everything before anyone gets home.

Thank you

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Fri 05-Oct-12 11:26:26

Loving the box, thanks MN thanks

GoatsHaveStrangeEyes Fri 05-Oct-12 12:04:01

ouryve Fri 05-Oct-12 12:13:45

What an incredibly posh box!!!

OvO Fri 05-Oct-12 12:17:47

Nothing here. No phone call either.

I got the phonecall.

Maybe as Im in N.Ireland it will take longer?

GracieGirl Fri 05-Oct-12 12:29:26

Thank you AnnMumsnet!

CocoaCloset Fri 05-Oct-12 12:47:40

Mine have arrived this morning too - look lovely. Trying to resist temptation to try before dd gets home!

Vajazzler Fri 05-Oct-12 13:01:39

Mine arrived this morning. The kids werent at all interested in the contents but all argued over who could have the fab box! It's currently hidden under my bed. I want it!

mumnosGOLDisbest Fri 05-Oct-12 14:08:15

mine have just arrived smile looking forward to trying them. wondering if we should eat them all in one go to make comparing easier! grin

i too love the box and its mine all mine!

Mine just arrived too. Resisting the urge to eat them all at once grin

RachelHRD Fri 05-Oct-12 14:58:01

Mine just arrived grin the box is huge!!!!

TheCunningStunt Fri 05-Oct-12 15:57:04

Still waiting too

MirandaWest Fri 05-Oct-12 15:57:39

Ours came yesterday. The box was very big grin.

OvOntToSuckYourBlood Fri 05-Oct-12 16:50:02

You bastards!

Rubbing it in, you with your fancy boxes full of yumminess.

MirandaWest Fri 05-Oct-12 16:52:11

It was a big box but there was a lot of spare space in it grin

OvOntToSuckYourBlood Fri 05-Oct-12 17:26:57

Oooo tomorrow I shall be joing the ranks of bastardness! grin Just got an email to say it was sent today so should arrive tomorrow. Is it wrong to be so excited about some rice and custard?

jessiegee Fri 05-Oct-12 19:03:44

I got mine today. By mistake I've deleted the email which gave the link where you can write your comments about the products. Can anyone help here? Could not BELIEVE the size of the box! Can't bear to put that in re-cycle but not sure what to put in it!

There was no link. They havent started the thread yet smile

Wigeon Fri 05-Oct-12 19:28:13

It's just arrived! Mmmmm...

pithtaker Fri 05-Oct-12 20:42:13

Mine arrived today, the DCs have eaten most of it already. They seemed a bit disturbed by all the questions I asked; though to be fair I don't normally split their dessert in two, heat one up in a microwave and then ask them to pick a favourite.

pithtaker Fri 05-Oct-12 20:44:28

yeah, and the box is fucking top banana!

mungojerrie Fri 05-Oct-12 21:35:41

No phone calls, massive boxes or chocolate yoghurts here yetsad

SJ47 Fri 05-Oct-12 22:25:21

Nothing here yet either.....but a card through the door today from parcelforce to say a parcel awaits me at our local PO. Excited! And also because it seems it comes in a schmancy fancy box!

Is there custard in the box as well as rice? Hope so!

TheCunningStunt Sat 06-Oct-12 11:59:33

I just got mine..Thankyou! Box is cool. We got a custard one too grin

MaureenMLove Sat 06-Oct-12 12:05:23

Recieved and mosty tested it would seem! grin It arrived yesterday, which was DD's birthday. She had a couple of mates stay over and half of them have disappeared over night!

The box is indeed lovely. DD has also claimed that as perfect for art supplies.

SJ47 Sat 06-Oct-12 13:00:02

No custard here....sad

Isn't the box nice? I thought it might be branded with pics of creamed rice, but its lovely and black and glossy! Sadly I fear it will be used for something mundane like filing...

Mine arrived first thing, hooray! Can't wait to try them. Thank you. grin

But <sobs quietly> my box I broken! Two of the lid corners are broke. <sobs louder> I am all sad faced now.

I knw the box is just a box but you lot made me all excited about it! <rocks box gently while crying over it>

Got mine today, loving the box too. The dc's are loving the bubble wrap. Ds is currently napping under it!!!!

SoThisisMe Sat 06-Oct-12 13:42:18

Mine arrived this morning. Love the box, will be used to store small toy cars (better than under the sofa).

DD has just devoured the rice + jam, said it was delicious (I had a spoon, it was) and a very generous portion of jam.

Don't think the rest will last long.

Thanks MN thanks

Also got mine too today. Haven't had any of the rice pots yet, but have already popped ds's small cars, trains, and other small crap in to the box. He was excited enough by that alone!

gazzalw Sat 06-Oct-12 19:01:47

Ours hasn't arrived yet...;-(. I wonder if it depends where you live....???

OvO one of the corners of my box is broken too. I feel your pain.

Can we have the feedback thread please? Ours are all gone apart from the big tub and I fear my brain might forget all the things I have to say.

mumnosGOLDisbest Sat 06-Oct-12 20:53:49

i got mine. the box is indeed fab and don't want to upset anyone but <whispers> we got custard smile

Mandz07 Sat 06-Oct-12 20:55:35

Ours still hasn't arrived sad did have a message saying it would be sent out this week. Hoping mon will be the day

Goldenjubilee10 Sun 07-Oct-12 06:24:47

Mine hasn't arrived yet although I got a phone call about 10 days ago asking about which days were best for delivery! I left ds1 home alone yesterday telling him not to answer the door to anyone except the Ambrosia rice. It may depend on where you live gazzalw am I right in thinking you too are North of the border.

gazzalw Sun 07-Oct-12 09:32:19

Goldenjubilee10 yes we had the same phone-call and have been waiting patiently ever since. It's that classic case though of a watched pot never boiling! We are very much not north of the border (although a lot of ancestors do hale for those climes!) we are in London! It might be the weekend or evening deliveries that's the issue....

Goldenjubilee10 Sun 07-Oct-12 14:21:19

Ahh, must have muddled you with someone else. Well, we will just have to be patient but I only bought ww yogurts this week so could do with them!

gazzalw Sun 07-Oct-12 17:01:25

Tartan wink emoticon! It sounds as if they will be worth the wait though....

SJ47 Sun 07-Oct-12 19:06:45

I'm in Edinburgh and delivery was attempted on Fri....but we were out do had to pick them up on Sat from our PO.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 08-Oct-12 14:02:57
Lent1l Fri 12-Oct-12 14:28:40

Oooh I'm sure my LO would love this - she likes most forms of rice so I don't see why she wouldn't love Amrosia and it's been years since I tried it.
