I'm sick of my hair falling out. DH says its like living with an Afghan Hound
.
It keeps getting stuck in the Dyson too
Done. [hopeful please pick me smiley]
As in bunging the Dyson up after its fell out that is.... I don't vacuum my hair!
done ... pleeeease pick me!
tequila mine gets stuck in the vaccume too. its very annoying and it breaks it
Diddly done.
Done.
Oh, yes please! My hair is awful.
Me too.
Please please please please (jumping up and down like a mad thing)
I have had alopeacia (thankfully gone) and now have very fine hair which falls out a lot. If it works on my hair it will work on any hair.
Done - would love to try this!
Done, I'd love to try it, my hair is awful because of ill health.
Please, please pick me. Dp is tired of picking up my hair everywhere; dd2 found one of my hairs in her dinner last night (ugh - pick me for dd2's sake if not for mine!!) and I have a horrible feeling that dd1's hair is the same as mine, so if this works that would be two of us buying it!
Just completed the form. I've had enough of hoovering every day and unclogging plugholes because of my falling hair. I've got to be extra careful around baby too as she just grabs my hair and will often find strands of my hair in her palm.
Done. Would love to do something with my fine hair. It just sort of hangs therre
Done
Done! God I hope I'm picked, DH is completely fed up of dismantling the shower every couple of days and pulling small rodent-sized clumps of hair out! It's so bad I even had to start a thread about it a few weeks back!
<subtle use of evidence I really need this stuff!>
Done. Pick me please, my hair is bothersome.
Definitely me please. Prize winning thin hair!
My moulted hair (long fine and straight) itself around the Hoover head and I have to defur it weekly. a grim job.
Done.
Done.
Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!
I moult like a cat
Emptying my hoover is a frightening experience.
Although I am a big fan of low-carbing, I am reluctantly admitting that (after 4 months) my hair seems to be falling out more than usual and I wonder if low carbing may be the reason
Please choose me, my hair is dire!
Oooo please pick me! My hair is so fine and goes through phases of falling out. T top it off, I've started finding grey hars ! Aaaagh I'm only 34 - is that normal? If it works on me it will work for anyone!
I want this more than I wanted the vacuum
Would love this...my hair is awful :-)
I too am after thick flowing locks that don't fall out in clumps, pick me! (are locks plural that "don't", i'm confused)
I am losing a lot of hair and also have what looks scarily like a bald patch
I'd love to try something which could help.
Done. I'd love to find something that helps my hair look a little less thin.
Here I am! Your ideal customer!
Done.
I have a lot of hair but it is very thin. I also lose a lot of hair and my hoover is full of it. I find it comes out loads when I brush it too, I constantly have to remove it from my hairbrush!
Protein is meant to be good for hair though Quejica. I'll be interested to see the results even if I'm not picked, I like aveda but it is ££ if you don't know if it wil suit your hair!
All done. Please pick me - my hair makes me so sad
Done. Not thinning but fine and falls out an annoying amount.
Pleeeease pick me!! My washing machine makes little nests of my awful hair that's fallen out
I have been searching for a product that will help, and would be recommended to my friends who have that weird post- pregnancy hair loss phenomenon too
Done, done, done and I really want this!!
Horrible thin, lank greasy hair that I hate.
All fell out last year after a serious operation.
Now just grown back but is again thin, lank and even more greasy as I am now 6 weeks pg
I need this
Regadless of whether I am picked or not I would love to hear the feedback as nothing I have ever tried has helped and I have tried most things. So some good feedback please lucky ladies that are picked.
Have filled out the form but not sure if I fit the criteria as my hair loss Is due to the medication I was taking, I have been taken off them now but still waiting for my hair to stop falling out
All filled in
...I really need something to help the hair stay on my head and not on the floor....twice this week my daughter has called me to kill a spider, only to find out on closer inspection that it was my hair
.
Done
Please pick me! I'd love something to make a difference to my stupidly thin hair!
How do the 30 people required get picked?
Done!
<crosses fingers>
Oh yeah. I have hypothyroid, now treated, but still my hair falls out in handfuls and is visible thinning. Will try anything that helps!
Best, award winning "pick me" smile
Done!
Signed up, tired of running my hands through my wet hair and coming out with small clusters of it!
Done! Pick me please - I'm nearly bald on top! I need help.
Done
Done... Except I just realised I didn't tick the 'hair falls out' box
Gaaah!! The dog and I are competing. She wins - just - but mine collects dust and rolls up into little dust bunny balls... Yuk... (obviously this is after it has fallen out..!)
Please pick me! My hair is getting finer and thinner just when I need it to get lusher to take attention away from the rest of me getting older and fatter!
Done! would love to take part in this. Another afghan here tequila
pick me!
pick me!
Please, please choose me! My hair is so fine, no product yet has helped it - could this be the one?
I have signed up - my hair falls out everywhere and is thinning. Plus I love Aveda products
Pleeeeease. My hair falls out so much, and seems to be getting worse. At 21, this really sucks.
Like others I would really like to hear the feed back on this product if I don't get picked. I thought I was the only one who felt this way about thinning hair, didn't know I was in such good company
Me, me, me! I would love to try this. I used to have gorgeous thick curly hair. Then after having dd2 6 years ago, it started to fall out, and never stopped.
It's awfully thin now, it doesn't help that it's dark so my white scalp shines through like a bright shiny moon.
Done. I have lupus and my hair is so thin and brittle, and I shed hairs everywhere I go, much worse after a flare up and if I go out In the sun, so anything that can make me feel better about myself my hair can only be a good thing. Would love to try this.
KatieBMumsnet - I'm sorry to be a nuisance but I filled in the application form and as I clicked "send" an alert popped up on my screen. I didn't get your usual "Thank you. We'll be in touch" page so I'm not sure if you got my application or not. I know I could fill out another form but if you did get the other one it'll look like I'm cheating/trying to give myself an unfair advantage.
Is there any way that you could check please?
Thank you
Done!
Really hoping that I'm selected for this. I've always had thin hair, but it's been falling out loads for the past few months.
My husband is sick of finding my hair everywhere, I'm sick of having to pull it out of the plug hole (I was disgusted to discover that it was my hair that was preventing the bath from draining!) and I even had to cut it off the bristles of the dyson!
Hello, I filled out the form and then clicked on the survey button, but it just seemed to bring me back to the MN page. Haven't received any emails from you, so wondered if you could check if my details were received as I would really love to take part in this product test...boy, do I need it! Thanks!
Done but I didn't get a 'thanks' page either?
Oooh when do we know who has been picked?
Please help me I am malting
Ooooooh!
You know, if it was possible to have plastic surgery to replace drab, lank hair with thick lustrous locks, I'd be saving up furiously.
When I wake up in the morning I look like a dead person!
Yes please. I have baby-fine hair that drops out. And trich, wbich doesn't help.
Hi OldBagWantsNewBag , mirai and MamaSara don't worry we have your details, there isn't a 'thanks' page - when you've completed the form it will just redirect you to our product tests and surveys page.
BlackberryIce we'll be in touch with those selected next week.
Good luck
just completed the form too, my hair too falls out loads. Especially since having my children
Hi KatieBMumsnet
Thank you for checking!
Done, PLEASE PICK ME <prays, my hair needs help!!!>
Done (crosses fingers hopefully)
While we're all here... You know that eyelash stuff that supposedly works really well to help eyelashes stay put and grow stronger (I have some but I always forget to do it consistently so haven't seen any results yet - and btw my eyelashes and brows have suffered too with the thyroid related hairloss)
Well, why can't we have that for our heads? Does anyone know? Or are the hair follicles different somehow? Perhaps it would just be too prohibitive in price?
I'd definitely like to know a bit more about the science behind the Aveda products - perhaps someone will be coming on MN to tell us more?
Please pick me. My hair is falling out at the rate of knots (pardon the pun) & I can't work out why.
Ugh.
I mussed up in the PickMePickMe box.
Please would you check that I'm all fully entered.
Tvym.
Hi Chaos I've only got half a sentence in your Pick Me box. You can PM me what you'd like to say and I'll add it in for you.
hi just filled in hope i get picked my hair is so fine /thin even my 2dcs say mum you got bald patch in your hair
Done
I would like to have better looking hair! I'm sick if limp knots at the back of my head!!!
I've filled it in, hope I get picked for this one.
Ooooh yes please, I'd love to find a product for fine hair that actually works rather than just weighing it down even more!
Filled it in, this test looks really good!
Dunnit. Fingers crossed!
After having my third child this year, I have had much greater hair loss than previously post birth. I would say that my hair is now thin, where as before it wasn't. I would love to see if this helps!!
Done - feel so let down by my hair all the time!! Fine and thin - worst two combinations (in my opinion!)
Wow, there are lots of other poor sufferers of fine/falling out hair out there - it's no fun at all. However, having filled out the form my first submission returned a server-error and the second no confirmation that the form had gone, just a generic MN page. KatieBMumsnet/MNHQ if you're checking the thread, could you be kind enough to check mine submitted? Ta
Done. If I tuck my many chins in and gaze up into the camera my shining scalp shows through. Hair has fallen! And how!
So now I have a choice of looking fat or bald or both.
Not. Good.
Pick
Me
Please!
Done fingers crossed
Would save a hell of a lot of work !
My colleagues pick my hairs of my back - i use a clothes brush every day but ot makes no difference.
Would be fine if i had lots of hair to begin with.
Pick me!
bobthebuddha we have your completed form
Done
KatieBMumsnet, cheers
Just filled the form in. Surprised to see so many other people have this problem - I thought it was just me
Just filled it in too! Any hair products that could help with my thin hair and stop it breaking/shedding so much would be great

I so hope I get picked, I lost 50% of my hair due to ill health last year and its an ongoing issue that means it won't come back. This sounds amazing if it works!
Done. It would be really nice to have lovely hair again.
oh god yes please!
Oooh hope I get it
I need it. My hair is so thin my scalp burns in the sun (cue the violins)
All done. Hope I'm not too late.
Please pick my hair!
Pick mine <elbows awesome out the way>
pick meee pretty please!!!!
Done, my hair is always everywhere! Even pregnancy can't make mine thicken and stay where it should be!!
Done, I really need a range like this!!
am i too late?
I would love to try this - my usually fine but lots of it long hair has over the past few months got thinner and thinner. I get clumps of it fall out when I wash it (rolled into a ball it's the size of a golf ball - is that normal btw?). Not sure if planning a wedding has anything to do with it!
When will the testers be drawn please?
TequilaMockinBird I'll be selecting the testers this week and be in touch soon.
cheesesarnie you're not too late the sign up form is still open.
Thanks Katie
thanks katie, think i did it right?
any one been picked yet ?.
Not heard either way. Maybe they will get listed here on thread?
Has anyone heard anything yet, perhaps, maybe?
Please can you let me know when I might be picked and if it's not soon I may have to purchase a wig

Or a large wooly hat.
Hi all, I'll be emailing those selected this week. I'll post on this thread when the email has been sent. Good luck!
I never thought there were so many mumsnetters hiding under hats!
It's mid week.... Nearly there!
katiebmumsnet why are we waiting ......
.
How does KatieB decide? Does she study our applications at length, or is it just names out of a hat?
I have lots of hats she could use.
Maybe we will hear today?
Yay, I'm in
thanks MNHQ
Selected emails have been sent - check your inboxes
Tequila you beat me to it
Oh boo - never mind
Enjoy it everyone who got lucky!
Sorry Katie, I was just sooooo excited!
Yay thanks Mumsnet
I'm in
Bah. Looking forward to reading the feedback, though.
this one was the one i was looking to most oh well never mind bk to thin hair sob.
I'm
In.
Please can we have really good honest feedback from all you lucky ones as it really will influence whether I buy and try.
Thanks
Just going to check spam and trash before I order a wig just in case
I was lucky to be chosen too - thanks!
Dear MNHQ either my email is broken or you forgot to send me an email or I just didn't get chosen <sob>
My poorly hair
I suspect Aveda just wasn't up to the job of sorting out my hair and am childish enough to boycott their products. Thrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp to them!
Oh bum. Was hoping would get some. Oh well. Will buy some iron tablets instead
Then again, there is no way on Gods green earth that I'd spend over £40 of shampoo and conditioner, so maybe I'm lucky not to get drawn in...
Booo. Yes, anyhow, lots of detailed reviews please, starting with what it says on the tin?
Jeez louise that stuff is expensive! 85 quid for the 3 separate items!
It would have to make me a cup of tea in the morning as well as sorting the hair for that price, and I'm not averse to a ridiculously overpriced cosmetic.
I need solid, proper evidence that it works before shelling out that much...
Regain. Sigh.
Oh, I wasn't picked either
. Not sure I'd spend that much either (even if it did mke me a cuppa!)
<whinges> I never get picked. Well, I did once for nappy cream, but that wasn't really for me <whines>.
Is it becos I is - erm - a bit rude of name?
Hurray - I'm in! Will let you know how I get on. It's horribly expensive but having used some Avedo stuff in the past it a) tends to be pretty good and b) lasts quite a long time: I swear by their handcream, for example.
Avedo? Doh.
Yay recieved my product to test this morning, here's to beautiful hair
Got mine today too, let's hope they actually work, they certainly smell good!
yippeeeeee I didn't receive an email (may have deleted by accident) and am so happy as just got ina and there is a lovely present for me!
Double surprise. Off to try products.
Which thread should we add the feedback to?
I'm hoping we'll be notified in a few weeks time GurlwiththeFrothyCurl. Have spritzed my scalp with the revitalizing spray and now it's all warm and tingly, and I smell nice but rather strong!
Hi GurlwiththeFrothyCurl you need to try the products over the next 8 weeks and I'll send you a link to the feedback thread after this time.
Enjoy the products
Thanks! Will start the products tomorrow
Just got back from work to a card from Royal Mail, is that how yours were delivered?
Yes TequilaMockinBird !
Yay
I'll be picking mine up tomorrow morning then!
I also arrived home to a card from the postman. Dp is going to pick them up for me tomorrow - can't wait to try them!
Many thanks for letting me do this one, I've been at my wits' end these past few months with hair loss. I just hope I've got enough for 8 weeks, given I've got rather long (and sadly now thin and straggly) hair. I want my old hair back! Anyway have started the routine, so fingers crossed.
Picked mine up this morning, can't wait to finish work and wash my hair
Got mine yesterday --forgot about it-- so ill start tomorrow. Also concerned I won't manage 8wks, my hairs past my waist!
Have got mine - it smells and looks lovely but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with the scalp treatment stuff. Wet hair? Dry hair? After washing? Before washing? It says use twice a day but doesn't say on what kind of hair - am I being dim?
I wasn't sure either Remus, so I just put it on dry hair, squirting right down on my scalp then massaging in, seemed OK, didn't leave it looking greasy or anything!
I got mine today too!
The spray says it's a 4 week course, so I doubt it will last the 8 weeks, so thinking that MNHQ should maybe send out the link after 4 weeks.
I'm also a bit confused as to when to use the spray, I tried it this evening onto dry hair and it has made my hair go a little hard and I smell quite strongly, so not sure I could use it in the morning and then go to work, unless I could use it on wet hair and it would then dry ok?! I'll maybe try that tomorrow morning, fingers crossed it works and I don't have to re-wash!
You know, I rather like wafting about the place smelling of lavender. It's supposed to be a stress-reliever which I really could do with (and stress is one of the probable causes of my hair loss) so a win-win for me.
So - watching with interest - have any of you testers tried all the products yet? How/when do you use the spray?
Any feedback so far or is it too early to say?
Initial verdict = the shampoo and conditioner smell lovely. I really like the feel of the shampoo but I don't think the conditioner moisturised the ends as much as my normal conditioner. I've tried the spray on dry hair and wet hair and both seemed to work okay. My hair looked nice and glossy this morning and felt quite 'swishy.'
Aah sheesh kebabs.. I've not started. Kinda thought I'd be told when to.. Yikes best set alarm early tomz and get it all sloshed on..
Feedback so far tho= lovely posh packaging, lush fragrance but v steep prices.. It'd need to work a miracle for me to continue on..
I'm not sure about the smell of it, I feel that it is maybe a bit over powering, especially the spray. Feel like I get a waft every time I move!
Have been using it for 2 days now, I wash my hair everyday, and I felt yesterday that my hair started to get a bit greasy as the day went on, I am prone to oily hair anyway, and normally use products for that. Today i cut back on conditioner to see if that makes a difference.
I have also used the spray on wet and dry hair, but found when I tried to dry my hair with the hairdryer after i out it in wet the smell was even worse...although if you like the smell that might be a bonus!
Mine have arrived now. I have been away from home so only got them on Saturday. I am working away most of the week so it may be difficult to provide some feedback but I will try.
I havent tried them yet but I will start in the morning. I am also a bit confused about the spray - I assumed that you do it on dry hair because it says to do it twice a day. My hair isnt wet twice a day so I assumed that I should do it on dry hair.
Will we be sent a link to where we need to provide the feedback?
I love trying new hair products so I am excited about this
Hi all, thanks for your comments so far. I'll ask Aveda about using the spray on wet or dry hair and will post their reply here.
You need to try the products for 8 weeks and I'll send the feedback thread to you at the end of this trial period.
Please do keep posting any initial comments you have on this thread in the mean time.
Thanks
One thing they do need to do is make their instructions readable! The text is so small, that you have to get the tube really close to be able to see it. I'm short-sighted so can get away with it, but if someone is long-sighted (and perhaps need reading glasses) and are using the products because their hair is thinning with age/menopause etc, then they are going to have a problem. Especially as it's multi-lingual - trying to find the English ones was a mare.
I agree with moonbells!
Fwiw my hair feels thicker, my mum noticed, not been using it a week yet --and I forgot all about the spray until this morning-- have had to stop using conditioner at the roots as my hair gets greasy but use it from ear height down.
Overall I like it, but the conditioner sets of pregnancy nausea, just smells odd imo.
Agree about the tiny print on the instructions and also the confusion about the scalp treatment.
I have very fine, chin length, curly hair which is thinning a bit on the top. I like the shampoo as it lathers quite well. The conditioner just doesn't condition enough for me - my hair is coloured and is quite dry. I can hardly get a comb through it after using the conditioner and so this is likely to cause more breakage. When it dries, it looks really dry and frizzy, not smooth at all. it does look a bit thicker though.
Confused about the scalp spray and have tended to use it during the evening on dry hair so that it dries before I go to bed (usually wash my hair in the morning). As the smell is so strong, I am reluctant to go to work smelling of this, so I have not been using it in the morning so far.
my hairs the same gurl tops smooth and lovely but my ends, are just a mess, vo5 is the only thing to tame them!
Hi folks, the Scalp Revitaliser can be used on wet and dry hair and the bottle should last for 4 weeks. Aveda will send a second bottle to you around this time so you can continue using it for the full 8 weeks trail period.
I picked mine up today
Im loving the fragrance. I put the Scalp Revitaliser on as soon as I opened it. It felt fine at first but has now really started to itch. I hope this wont be the case with the shampoo and conditioner.
Hi MNHQ. I was very sad as I did not get an email to say I had been selected. However................ my products arrived this morning! Does that mean i can do it after all? Please don't make me send them back!
I've just got back from a week away so have used mine for the first time today. It smells lovely and my hair looks nice so I am hoping this continues!
MrsS1980 don't worry you can keep the products. You should have received an email from me, although sometimes I do get sent to the spam folder
Any more updates for us ordinary bods? My hair is thinner, lankier and wispier than ever and scalp is showing through. Getting almost desperate enough to fork out 80 quid for this stuff if you tell me good things!
Wilf I'm cheating a bit. I have waist-length long hair which shows the thinning badly at the ends and I need two goes with the shampoo to get any lather at all, so I'm running out of it already. So I'm doing the first go with another shampoo to try and eke out the Aveda one.
Conditioner is lovely. I think this is what does the trick. It's certainly making me feel like it's thicker.
Now I have an old trick of drying it upside down with a dryer to give it more body. The spray-in Scalp Revitaliser stuff flattens it against my head and makes me feel like it needs washing all over again. And I can't redry it with a dryer because it's flammable!
I would love prefer it if Aveda would send me more shampoo and not the spray.
I'm quite liking it but my hair is short and fine so when I use the spray (even into the roots) my hair is wet through so drying it poofs it up a bit.
Went to my hairdresser last week, they use Aveda and like this range but wondered if massaging the spray in might help stimulate blood flow, etc so effects might be partly the product and partly the regime iyswim.
Smells gorgeous!
i liek the smell - would never spend that much on it tbh
Hello
Sorry if I've missed something here mnhq- I've had my products for a few weeks and been using.. Where do I post feedback? Will I be contacted?
Thanks
Mildred
Im still losing as much hair but after the spray it does look fuller.
Hi MNHQ and all,
I'm getting my regular colour done on Friday and my hairdresser wants me to check with Aveda if it is still ok to go ahead with the colour whilst using this product. Does anyone know?
Thanks
MildredH we'll be sending you the link to the feedback thread after you've tried the products for 8 weeks (so around the 12th November).
MrsS1980 I may be a little late now but I'll ask Aveda and get back to you.
