Like to win a trip to a Ribena farm for the whole family? Over the weekend of 26th and 27th June five Mumsnetters and their families will be taken by train to one of Ribena's three chosen farms in either Herefordshire, Essex or Kent, where they'll spend a night in a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of the beautiful British countryside. The next day they'll visit a real Ribena blackcurrant farm where, after meeting the farmer, they'll take a storytelling tour to see how the berries are grown, spot some wildlife, make a delicious blackcurrant treat and even have an outdoor picnic.

This prize includes standard class return train tickets for each family group from their nearest train station in the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), departing Saturday 26th June 2010 and returning Sunday 27th June 2010, 1 night accommodation including breakfast in a 4 star hotel on the evening of Saturday 26th June 2010. Accommodation is based on 2 x rooms for 2 people sharing a twin or double en-suite room or family room for 1 night. Transport to and from the train station, hotel and the "Tales from Ribena Farm" Event in the selected location. Once at the farm, your Group will be treated to an adventure day consisting of storytelling, wildlife spotting, bird box making, a treasure hunt, smoothie making and outdoor catering.

If you're free on the 26 and 27th June, are happy to be filmed and post about your experiences in a thread here on the Mumsnet Talk boards, and are part of a family with up to five people with a minimum of 2 children aged 5 - 14 years old inclusive then please take part in our competition and tell us who's in your family and what their most interesting traits are.

Ha. DS2 would love a trip to a berry farm, but they are too small, thank god. The very thought of spending 5 hours on a train with them (let alone a night in a luxury boutique hotel) is bringing me out in a cold sweat.

4andnotout Wed 09-Jun-10 17:17:28

Oh crapola so us larger families are excluded

DanJARMouse Wed 09-Jun-10 17:18:09

I havent got 2 kids aged 5-14 (despite having 3 kids) and I would LOVE to see MNHQ get trains from scottish highlands to essex etc and back in one weekend.

Dammit.

would love that, dc are 4 and 6 though so not right age harumph.

toccatanfudge Wed 09-Jun-10 17:20:03

ahhh now you see midnight I've spent the night in a posh hotel with my 3 boys, and taken them on long train trips so that doesn't phase me..........

I'm just crap at writing interesting and witty things like this

4andnotout - just leave your DH at home grin

SoupDragon Wed 09-Jun-10 17:20:21

God, I don't think listing DS2 and DDs most interesting traits will win me anything!

mustrunmore Wed 09-Jun-10 17:23:15

Oh, we would've loved this sad . Really for the interest factor as well as the posh hotel. Catherinemn, do you think its worth me entering anyway, in case you dont get enough takers that fit the criteria exactly?? We only fail on ds2 not being 5 yet.

Hmm. Not sure my 18 and 15 year old DC would be too impressed by this. I'd love it! Can I be adopted by someone else?

Haha! Same here SoupDragon!

Oh well, worth a go I suppose!

And those of us with small families are also excluded.

toccatanfudge Wed 09-Jun-10 17:29:11

such is the nature of competitions offered by anyone, plenty of ones that my children were too old/too young for or whatever.

I still occasionaly do my competition entering using another website, there's lot that I can't enter for various reasons.

LtEveDallas Wed 09-Jun-10 17:29:55

Do step children count? If so I could enter!

grumpypants Wed 09-Jun-10 17:30:53

done it, but dh v unimpressed with my entry!

5inthebed Wed 09-Jun-10 17:33:23

Damn it, DS2 is only 4. Bloody summer born babies......

Hassled Wed 09-Jun-10 17:39:36

I fit the criteria and like nothing more than a good blackcurrant, but I think I would rather bathe in Ribena next to a wasps' nest than be filmed.

nymphadora Wed 09-Jun-10 17:42:50

Arghhhhh the dreaded filming again!

Can I do this instead of moving house on 26th June? <sigh>

Can I borrow a child? sad sad I don't have time to find a bloke, get knocked up, knock it out and grow it to the size of a 5 year old in the space of a few weeks (sob)

It's biased against those with only one child!
