The product test you've all been waiting for.... we need 20 testers for the Philips Sensual Massager

(216 Posts)
carriemumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 05-Oct-09 15:08:34

OK so we've given out jam, shower gel, Dysons and even pregnancy tests but now, as they say, for something completely different. We're looking for 20 mumsnetters (and their partners) to try the new Philips Sensual Massager - and we're not talking about back massage wink. If you're not sure what a sensual massager is, it's probably best to click here before you go any further, or read what Philips say about the product:

"The new Philips Sensual Massager is designed specifically for couples and will take your sensual relationship together to new exciting levels. It is shaped to fit the contours of male and female erogenous zones meaning it can be used all over to arouse your sex senses. Made from tactile, smooth-to-the-touch material and ergonomically sculpted to fit the palm of the hand, the Philips Sensual Massager heightens the power of your partner's natural touch during foreplay and can also be used in the bath or shower, or with lubricants for even more sensation.

The new Sensual Massager is compact and instinctive to use, making it ideal for both first-time, and experienced, users of sex accessories. Elegant and discreet, in sumptuous purple in a streamlined pebble-like shape, it not only feels completely different to any other sex toy, it also looks different too."

Ok, so we're already a bit blush and shock but when Philips approached us we told them we were sure we could find a few mumsnetters willing to give this thing a whirl.

Philips are specifically looking for MNers who are in a sexual relationship, who would like to try a sex toy and who are happy to come back to Mumsnet and talk about how they got on (name changing is allowed!). Rest assured all data is confidential - your MN nickname will not be sent to Philips.

So, if you'd like to try the Sensual Massager and receive a goody pack worth £80 (a Massager worth £60 plus some lovely massage oils, worth around £20) please fill in the questions here

Oh my!

Well it's not DH's birthday until July. Do you think Philips would wait until then?

JodieO Mon 05-Oct-09 15:14:41

famishedass Mon 05-Oct-09 16:18:34

I wonder how the criteria for choosing who will test this works?

Oh well, let's all meet back here on the 15th. Anyone who'se not here on the 15th, we all know why grin

Mamazon Mon 05-Oct-09 16:20:19

i feel the need to add to my application that DP and i never argue, never ever ever.

I meen how terrible would it be if the person they chose had a row with their OH and didn't have sex for a month.

give it to meeeeeeeeee

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern Mon 05-Oct-09 16:31:33

See I should have added to mine that having only been married for 2 months we are still at it like rabbits so it would get a good an thorough testing in our house grin

Buda Mon 05-Oct-09 16:32:22

Don't suppose they would send it to Hungary. Gah.

Ledodgy Mon 05-Oct-09 16:34:27

I've entered i'll give anything a try. <within reason>

serenity Mon 05-Oct-09 16:47:46

I haven't not entered anything yet, don't think you can scare me off this time (and I finally have a bedroom with a door!!!!)

tinateaspoon Mon 05-Oct-09 16:49:18

I'm in and feel ever so slightly giggly about it grin.

tinateaspoon Mon 05-Oct-09 16:50:01

If I do win, I bet I forget to name change, I always do that blush.

serenity Mon 05-Oct-09 16:56:34

Might not mention it to DH though, at least not until it's a done deal *whistles innocently*

starwhores Mon 05-Oct-09 17:08:23

I've entered for someone else, honest! blush

Bicnod Mon 05-Oct-09 17:36:32

this might be just the ticket for rekindling the pre-baby flame (which has been spluttering somewhat since childbirth 5 months ago) grin

mustrunmore Mon 05-Oct-09 17:43:49

God I hope I get this one grin We were so very good at tothbrush testing, let me do this one too <fawn fawn at mn>

PoppyIsApain Mon 05-Oct-09 17:54:02

he he he hope i get this one grin

mosschops30 Mon 05-Oct-09 17:54:53

I never win any of these MN things, and think that as dh wont have sex with me whilst Im pregnant, and I have only 5 weeks to go then 'I am considerably more deserving than yow' grin

TrinityHasAVampireRhino Mon 05-Oct-09 17:55:28

TrinityHasAVampireRhino Mon 05-Oct-09 17:56:02

oh crap, just realised it for couples

EccentricaGallumbits Mon 05-Oct-09 18:05:23

now, considering the apple risp people forgot to send me any andi didn't get to try the animal dyson i really do think i should get one of these. much more fun than a dyson.

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Mon 05-Oct-09 18:10:28

It's got to be me... before my fanjo opens up and eats someone.

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee Mon 05-Oct-09 18:11:07

aww only 20 i will have missed the boat now never mind grin. It owuld have made a ncie anniversary prezzie for dh as well.

lou33 Mon 05-Oct-09 18:35:44

i would try it, not sure if its too late but i entered anyway

20 is an absurdly small smaple. They'll get some really freakish feedback from that. They should definately go for at least 500. I hope I get one because it would really help dh see the point of mumsnet grin

Sunshining Mon 05-Oct-09 18:43:36

ive entered too....even though there may be too many that had entered wink

LilRedWG Mon 05-Oct-09 18:46:53

Oh, what the hell, why not!

lou33 Mon 05-Oct-09 18:49:37

Disembodied3 Mon 05-Oct-09 18:50:53

is it only the first 20 that replied? please choose me grin

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee Mon 05-Oct-09 18:58:36

oh i did it anyway hoping it was like a lottery - as Northernlurker said it would help my case for being on here.

lou33 Mon 05-Oct-09 18:59:21

i thought usually its names picked at random

sarah293 Mon 05-Oct-09 19:14:35

me me me me me me grin

RealityBites Mon 05-Oct-09 19:20:14

I think I should DEFFO win this one. It has my name all over it.

abbierhodes Mon 05-Oct-09 19:24:18

I've entered!!! Fingers crossed!

Damn! Another down side to being single! sad

NormaStanleyFletcher Mon 05-Oct-09 19:34:48

I can neither confirm nor deny whether fletch has filled in this survey

5inthetomb Mon 05-Oct-09 19:47:17

I've added my name to the list of 50+. One can only hope.

Cicatrice Mon 05-Oct-09 19:48:02

Is it a lottery, or is it first come first served?

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Mon 05-Oct-09 20:02:17

I reckon because we had to write why it should go to us, it means that they'll pick the best answer?

QwertyQueen Mon 05-Oct-09 20:05:30

MNHQ, Can I enter if I live overseas??? I will pay shippping ;)

LeonieBooCreepy Mon 05-Oct-09 20:06:20

Have entered. Desperately want to get laid, hoping a toy we can share will inspire him? sigh.

ThisPhantomPlopsPumpkins Mon 05-Oct-09 20:10:02

This isn't entirely fair. DH is deployed for seven months, if anyone NEEDS to test this product out it's me! Unless they are willing to send him one too, they have skype on warships now!

onadietcokebreak Mon 05-Oct-09 20:10:05

Fingers crossed! This is one product test that would be so much fun!

Lelsbud Mon 05-Oct-09 20:10:26

I'm gain for a laugh and a try, it looks very intriging compared to stuff you get on net or in Ann summers. Here's hoping. I have never thought of a man using one too.wink

rusmum Mon 05-Oct-09 20:14:19

how do we enter?

Hogiabach Mon 05-Oct-09 20:28:19

MoonlightMcKenzie Mon 05-Oct-09 20:40:15

Wot MamaG said!

Goober Mon 05-Oct-09 20:41:39

chochappy Mon 05-Oct-09 20:49:16

Yes please! now this is a competition that's worth entering!

MinkyBorage Mon 05-Oct-09 21:01:54

Me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kormaAAAARRRRGGHHchameleon Mon 05-Oct-09 21:06:07

well its miles better than a dyson isnt it ?

i am scared and strangely intrigued by my immense desire for one of these

WickedWitchSouthWest Mon 05-Oct-09 21:17:14

me me me me!!! PLEASE! We've been together 10 years, we need more fun grin

carocaro Mon 05-Oct-09 21:19:18

Pick me.

Have not had sex for 2 years with DH!

No real reason and it's not an issue between us but I do feel like I want to get back on the horse and this would help us get back to it!

SomeGuy Mon 05-Oct-09 21:24:24

Hmm, interesting bit of marketing. Not marketing on here as such, but marketing it as a 'couples massager'.

Looking at it, I'd say it'd get far more use for women and it's a bit of a marketing ploy to get men to buy more vibrators for their partners to use.

I wonder if they're marketing it on any men's websites...

Derry76 Mon 05-Oct-09 21:39:19

Pick me please !! I've got 2 little girls, 22 months and 8 months - not quite sure how no 2 was conceived shock , in a quick morning fumble! Now they're both sleeping through, some quality 'sensual' time with hubby would be just the ticket smile!

rusmum Mon 05-Oct-09 21:58:50

i feel you on the quick fumble thing- thats all we (i) get. This would be a great teaching aid- lol so please pick me- after 15 years this would be a new experience for us-

oh go on then if you're struggling to find people.

Tiredmumofdjandbabies Mon 05-Oct-09 22:04:58

This could be the

SolidGhoulBrass Mon 05-Oct-09 22:05:08

Would now or later be a good time to pop back and recommend some websites to those who are unlucky this time? grin

Muser Mon 05-Oct-09 22:14:15

As someone who used to take her work colleagues on outings to the local female's only sex shop I think I would be an excellent tester!

Innocent colleague No 1: What's this for?

Me: That's a butt plug dear. The clue is in the name.

Bunnysoprano Mon 05-Oct-09 22:25:10

me please!

spookyrookie Mon 05-Oct-09 22:27:49

I'm putting my name down, hopefully I will get more of an opportunity to use it than the digital pregnancy test I won before sad

hoops997 Mon 05-Oct-09 22:27:53

yes please, have entered....grin

bitsnbobs Mon 05-Oct-09 22:30:18

Yes Please! wink

lou33 Mon 05-Oct-09 22:59:26

the last thing i got picked for was a bag of apple crisps so this would be a lot more fun

aristoBLACKcat Mon 05-Oct-09 23:35:55

gotta be my turn grin

Pinkfluffyslippers Tue 06-Oct-09 07:10:09

I have a Philips Lady Shave so do I get extra Brownie points for brand loyalty?

I once went into a sex shop in Leeds and found Ted Heath's autobiography in there....

LoveBeingAMummy Tue 06-Oct-09 07:36:21

"How do I bring up the idea of trying the Sensual Massager with my partner?"

Easy mn told me to test it grin

serenity Tue 06-Oct-09 07:45:50

I showed this to DH last night, and he was sort of hmm blush grin so it's thumbs up so far.

(He thinks MN testing it is highly amusing, but fitting. I apologise for any odd ideas he has about you...)

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 06-Oct-09 08:05:38

always up for fun - as my name suggests grin

was given a link for this - cant think why wink

herbietea Tue 06-Oct-09 08:38:40

I hope it's quiet. I have teenagers who really don't need to hear any 'buzzing' coming from our bedroom! grin

slimeoncrazydemon Tue 06-Oct-09 09:21:41

I see it's the usual suspects applying for this sort of filth.

Jenski Tue 06-Oct-09 10:05:43

Better give it a go I suppose.... hmm grin

Jenski Tue 06-Oct-09 10:08:11

Doesn't look very exciting though... hmm

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia Tue 06-Oct-09 10:26:17

Do you get to keep the product or do Philips want them back once the trial period is over??

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia Tue 06-Oct-09 10:28:12

Oh dear I was unable to complete the questions having read the words "...will only be used by MN internally..."

morningpaper Tue 06-Oct-09 10:29:18

<chokes on muesli>

What the

There is so much wrong with this

Philips? What next? Toshiba butt plugs? The Asda Value Rabbit? James Dyson pleasuring housewives? (will sign up for that btw)

<squint> And it seems to look like a ... wireless router? Are you sure it isn't actually transmitting pictures?

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia Tue 06-Oct-09 10:34:45

Well MP I think if MNers are going to be using internal electronics, as it were, it's just as well to have them made by a specialist electronics company than by people who normally manufacture latex or nylon items. You could count on good aftersales service, guarantees, sensible Dutch (?) craftsmen, etc.

Blondeshavemorefun Tue 06-Oct-09 11:30:16

vintagegaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - i assume you get to keep it - wouldnt want someone elses scummy seconds grin

DH's fingers get tired see.

I meant when he massages my shoulders you filthy lot.

Yeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh riiiiggghhhhhtttt.

aseriouslyblondemoment Tue 06-Oct-09 11:40:07

AbricotsSecs Tue 06-Oct-09 13:22:10

When will we know if we've been selected?

Not that I'm in any way desperate, you understand...

fruitspooksbatsintheeaves Tue 06-Oct-09 14:29:40

does it come with instructions? blush

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 06-Oct-09 19:30:45

One last chance bump - am closing this off tomorrow morning and we'll be making the selection later this week..... sure it'll come with instructions wink

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Tue 06-Oct-09 19:34:25

Ahhh so it is a lottery. Again, this fanjo will open up and eat someone unless I have this. So by picking moi you are saving some unsuspecting soul from the black hole wink

rusmum Tue 06-Oct-09 21:05:36

Again how do i get picked (or at least apply?)

serenity Tue 06-Oct-09 21:19:11

There's a link to a questionnaire on MN's OP.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 06-Oct-09 22:42:15

rusmum - sorry, you need to fill in your details here!

FlameWithTooManyHormones Wed 07-Oct-09 11:44:34

I missed it!!! Why did you not tweet it?!?!?!?!

serenity Wed 07-Oct-09 12:13:54

You wanted to vibrate that baby out?

FlameWithTooManyHormones Wed 07-Oct-09 12:46:41

I just feel cheated when I don't get to enter things

mosschops30 Wed 07-Oct-09 16:06:18

when do we find out??

ByThePowerOfGreyskull Wed 07-Oct-09 18:17:47

do we have to have posted on here or was it just enough to have entered?

rusmum Wed 07-Oct-09 20:27:33

AbricotsSecs Thu 08-Oct-09 10:41:07

<lurks desperately expectantly>

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 08-Oct-09 11:05:52

I am thinking the names of those selected (when they are selected....!) won't be announced...rather a discreet email will be sent along with a discreet parcel grin

FranklyIDontGiveAMam Thu 08-Oct-09 18:54:43

So when are they going to be selected? I've got me new name here all ready and waiting!

gizmo Fri 09-Oct-09 11:38:33

'This survey is now closed.'

Oh no, oh no....

This is why I shouldn't wait for the round up to visit Mumsnet sad

No chance of re-opening it just for a day to give us round-uppers a chance, is there, Ann?

alibubbles Fri 09-Oct-09 12:04:57

Missed it too, would love to have given it a try.......

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 09-Oct-09 12:54:11

sorry guys....client is going through all the volunteers today and making their selection.....lucky trialists will be emailed on Monday afternoon now....

I already have one of these - won it in a competition - was third prize, I think it was a question of 'you haven't won anything decent now go f* yourself' wink

The lights are good when the electricity goes off but the rest of it is a bit shite.

Doesn't come with helpful instructions though - perhaps I'm not using it right. Doesn't seem to be getting my teeth any cleaner than my old toothbrush grin

HalloweenIsSofaKingScary Sun 11-Oct-09 10:05:10

Gah. Missed it. Surely the comment about first come, first served should first served, first come.grin

<I'll get my coat on the way out>

nicolaamelia Mon 12-Oct-09 11:03:35

this is my first time on her but would love to test it

NormaStanleyFletcher Mon 12-Oct-09 17:59:48

Sooooo. In a completely non interested way.... have the emails gone out?

Please note that I can neither confirm nor deny whether I have entered this competition and nothing should be inferred from the above question.

lou33 Mon 12-Oct-09 19:30:19

i was wondering the same thing

AbricotsSecs Mon 12-Oct-09 21:44:28

Me too

IdrisTheDragon Mon 12-Oct-09 22:38:52

I was also wondering. On behalf of a friend obviously.

lou33 Mon 12-Oct-09 22:43:05

i am completely blatant and unashamed at how much i want to try this out

aristoBLACKcat Mon 12-Oct-09 22:48:15

AbricotsSecs Tue 13-Oct-09 23:16:59

Blimey. All this agonising waiting around to see if I've been picked is causing a large deal of, y'know... tension and frustration...

Oh, how I wish that I could enlist the help of my DH to, um, release it, perhaps in an, erm, sensual fashion...

<sad sigh>

Rachmumoftwo Tue 13-Oct-09 23:35:35

I really don't want one (reverse psychology so I get one)

flier Wed 14-Oct-09 08:38:55

WickedWitchSouthWest Fri 16-Oct-09 11:20:53

HelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 16-Oct-09 11:25:07

Eccentrica: you should be able to see Product Tests in Active Convos (when there is an active thread, obv)

You should also be able to see it in the Topic list under Other Stuff.

AbricotsSecs Fri 16-Oct-09 12:13:39

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 16-Oct-09 14:48:15
