MakeTime2Play has updated its app aimed at parents and carers, which suggests play ideas for kids, and they want to find out what MNers think of it. If you have a child aged 12 or under and an iOS or Android device, click here to sign up to take part in the MakeTime2Play product test.

Here’s what MakeTime2Play has to say: “Whether you have a newborn or a 12 year old there is so much to explore with our updated app; it’s free to download, available on iOS and Android devices, and has over 400 play ideas! You can filter the play ideas to fit your needs by choosing between location, age of children, number of children and time.”

“The app isn’t just about fun play ideas, it also provides information on the benefits that children receive when playing. There is a page detailing the physical, emotional, creative, social, behavioural and inquisitive benefits of play. Symbols on each play activity page will tell you which of these benefits your child is receiving from each game they play.”

Testers will be asked to download the app and use its features to find play ideas for their DCs. You will then be asked to answer a few questions on a feedback thread on MN and share your views on the app. Everyone who gives feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Please sign up here if you’re interested in taking part.

Thanks and good luck!

Sounds good. My autistic 8 year old loves apps on his iPad so he could be a good kid to try this app

Sounds good. I have my 10yo nephew living with us at the moment so would be good to find new games for all the DC to play together.

Just a quick message from MakeTime2Play:

"Thank you very much for your comments, we are delighted with your interest in the app. To clear up any confusion, the app is actually for adults to use to find play ideas for children, as well as learning more about the benefits of play that the children will be receiving. We hope you still want to take part in the product test and enjoy the app!"

Hi

I have a DS aged 5 and a DD who is very almost 3 and I would love to give this app a try and see if it can give me some new ideas for activities to do with them both.

More than happy to give feedback on the app as required.

Yes please! I was brilliant at thinking up games and activities when my boys were smaller. Now if it doesn't involve minecraft or YouTube they aren't interested :(

I have a Windows phone and a MacBook, so virtually no apps are accessible to me. Shame as would like to try something like this.

It's not really an app for the kids more inspiration for parents of kids. Gives ideas for games to play. I selected the option for 5+ and to be honest we already play and do most of the things on the list. I would be more interested in ideas of how to keep them interested while u have to do something and not give them 100% attention. Like on a plane. While in the dentist. In church. At other appointments. These have been tricky times for me in the past and now my son is quite happy with a nice sticker colouring activity book or a white board and pens.
