I have just started using the pedigree food in the last week. We started by doing a combination of my dogs previous food and the new pedigree food. He started with a full pedigree meal as of Sunday and he seems to really like it. Ihave found the instructions on how much to feed my dog very simple to follow. He seems to devour it quickly so I can assume it tastes great to him as well. The treats work well when we are out on our walks to encourage him to come back when he is off the lead. He also seems to like the dents stix's as well. So far we have nothing but good things to say about the pedigree food range.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes, I was aware of Pedigree dog food and have purchased it before.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

My dog enjoyed the food and the dental stix she particularly liked. She loves chewing on things! I liked the thought that they would be cleaning her teeth for her whilst she's enjoying herself having a chew!
The complete diet seemed a good idea and I felt my dog would be getting a lot of the nutrients she requires.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

I probably wouldn't keep purchasing the complete diet as I prefer to use another brand which has a higher meat content.
I would use the dentastix, I thought they were great.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend, but prefer the brand I use regularly.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

The personalised tracks app is an excellent idea and I enjoyed using that. It was interesting to track how much exercise my dog gets.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. definitely. It provides reassurance that my dog is as healthy as she can be and getting the right amount of exercise and the right kind of food to keep her healthy.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
Yes - of course aware - it's a household name. Tried it - yes.
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
My puppy loved it but seems to have come out with 'dandruff' - not sure if it's related and I will see the vet for advice.
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
I would consider the dry food as the dog liked it plus I liked the chew sticks. Depends on possible allergy of course!
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes.
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
Haven't tried it - my phones awful.

  1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes, aware of the products. Hadn't purchased before as our dog is quite a fussy eater and we were always dubious of changing her over to something different.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

I was impressed with the range of food, especially the wet food. Our dog is really fussy and she took to it quite quickly. I really liked the little guidance leaflet we got and the app as well which helped us know the right amounts to be feeding her.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

Certainly the wet food and quite possibly the dry food, overall we were quite impressed.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would definitely mention it, particular the app.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

I really enjoyed using the app and found it to be very useful in determining the amount of food recommended for our dog. I think we had definitely been slightly over-feeding her before using it.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, it was really easy to use and helpful to see where we could improve on the dog's feeding routine. I liked the activity tracker too; we actually walked the dog more because we could see how much we were doing!

Hello!

This is the first time I have done this so I hope I have done it right!

I have a 3.5 year old Minature Schnauzer called Mac.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes I was aware of it and no I haven't bought Pedigree dog food before. I have bought Pedigree dog treats before though.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

Mac seems to be really excited when it comes to feeding time now. He has been wolfing down the food though which has led to some really stinky farts!

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

I am - on the basis that Mac seems to really enjoy feeding time and it gives me pleasure to see him enjoying the food.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would. I would recommend it's something Mac likes to eat and something that is not that messy to serve up.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

Very clear and easy to use. I do keep forgetting to time his garden play though!

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes - I think it gives people an idea of how much (or how little!) excercise the pooch gets.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before? Yes, I had heard of it before.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products. My puppy loved the Denta Tubos, they are the perfect size to treat her with, and I love that they also help to keep her teeth healthy. The pouches of food were not received so well - she doesn't normally have a wet food, and so I don't know whether the taste or texture didn't appeal to her, but she wasn't keen on these at all. The dry food went down well, she cleared the bowl every feed time and I like the fact she is getting a complete, balanced diet from it.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why? I would definitely buy the Denta Tubos again, and would buy these regularly. I wouldn't buy the pouches as my dog didn't like them. I would consider buying the dry food, although it did seem to upset her tummy slightly, so I may wait until she was a bit older.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? Probably. I would recommend trying it anyway - I think it will suit some dogs more than others.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app? Great idea - great for keeping a personalised record, especially if you have a puppy or an older dog. Great fun for kids to use too.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes - it is easy to use, fun for the whole family and something that can help you keep your dog fit and healthy.

Yes we were aware and yes we had purchased it before but is not our regular food.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
My dog is enjoying the food especially the meat pouches which come in handy sized pouches. The complete diet is fab using the app but if I followed the packaging I would of ended up over feeding my dog.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
We would at the moment consider continuing with Pedigree food depending on the price.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
It was good to see how much I needed to feed my dog. The exercise part was good but to be honest I have not used it much as I dont always have my phone when my dog is exercised.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would tell people about the app and tell them its worth looking at.

I've been testing the pouches, dried food, and snacks on Belle, my 3 yr old Jack Russell. She's been loving every minute of it, I've not seen her so eager to be fed!

  1. I was aware of the brand obviously, who isn't? I have purchase before but only if it's been on offer as it's generally one of the more expensive brands.

  1. I think everything fits together really well and the wet and dry foods compliment each other.

  1. I would love to be able to feed her Pedigree all the time, but my budget just wouldn't allow it. I have to find a happy medium. If it was on offer, I would certainly buy it though.

  1. Yes I would recommend it to other dog owners. My dog seems to really enjoy the taste and texture, so I'm sure other dogs would too.

  1. I'm not big on apps, don't even use an iphone at present so no comment on this one.

  1. Am I going mad or is this the same as Q4?

We have Eddie, a 5yr old Springer Spaniel and we;re testing wet and dry dog food and daily dentastix.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
Yes we were aware of it but we have always used worker dog food as this was what he ate when we rehomed him.
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
At the moment we're actually really impressed with the dry food, we're been weighing his potions according to the guidelines and it lasts much longer than you'd think. the treats are a little small for a medium/large dog but that's just the ones we were given, I know Pedigree do larger treats that we would normally use. I think the pouches would be better being bigger too, having to open a squeeze out two pouches is really no easier than portioning up food from a tin.
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
I think at the moment that will at least continue with the dry food as Eddie's fur seems to be looking better lately. I've never really believed that dog food could change a dogs fur but yes, he looks a lot healthier lately and people are noticing it too.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend it, yes. As I said, Eddie looks healthier and the food lasts longer than expected, the dentastix are great for giving him something to chew on at lunch time to stop him hanging around the table while we eat and the treats make good training treats - if Eddie could talk I think he'd be saying 'more please' at the end of training.
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
We tried it, the feeding info was handy but I've not been doing the activity bit as I don't always take my phone out with me for walks or to play.
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Maybe, if someone was struggling with how much to feed their dog but I'm not sure I'd suggest it as a tracker for their dogs exercise.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

yes she grew up on tinned puppy food before progressing to adult but went off it completely a few months back,

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

very happy, our FBD is a fussy little mare at the best of times but she loves it
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

as long as our little princess is happy with it then yes, shes enjoying it and that as long as it is as healthy for her as advertised then yes

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

difficult to say our experience has been positive but Pedigree dont have the best of reputations for a food supplier

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

clunky lacking in content and the feeding guide seems particularly off the mark

Q1. Yes I was aware of pedigree dog food before. I have used it in the past but not with my current dog or indeed regularly for about ten years. I have used the puppy version fairly recently when one of our dogs had pups. We did use the dentastix regularly but moved to a cheaper supermarket own brand as we have four dogs and they were quite a lot more expensive

Q2. My dog really enjoys the food. I find the sachets convenient and feel it is nice for them to have a mix of dried and wet food. I have four dogs and only one is meant to be participating in the trial but all of them have ended up doing so for convenience and we have bought a stack more so they could all join in! I had no problems with the switch. They already had a routine with the dentastix equivalent after their walk and are enjoying getting an odd treat now and then! Whilst they all love it...they all love all food and I can't say I have noticed a difference in their condition either way.

Q3. To be honest I'm not sure that we will continue. Firstly I have to say that cost generally is not an issue when it comes to selecting products for us BUT with four dogs we would be paying a lot more than for our usual food...to ultimately have the convenience of sachets. I don't feel that there is anything markedly better than their previous food or products. I may consider continuing adding the dried food to their existing wet food. The treats we may buy occasionally but we will be switching back to our normal dentastix equivalent...sorry!

Q4. Pedigree is a good food, the dogs like it and the products are okay but for me there is no USP or anything that stands out about it. I still see Pedigree as the brand leader for dog food and there is a good selection of products but there is nothing "special" that makes me want to recommend them generally but conversely nothing that would make me not recommend them either. I did and would continue to recommend the puppy food sachets from my previous experiences. For my adult dogs 'though I must admit I prefer my regular brand and it may be marketing hype but I do feel somehow that it is "better for them"

Q5 The app was okay and a bit of a novelty but didn't use it for more than a day or two. I can see why it would be useful for some but didn't feel that there was any real benefit to it in our circumstances. The type of treats that I was sent did not feature on the app 'though.....

Q6. I probably would recommend the app as I can see it would be useful to some people. Everyone is different and I have a short attention span but I have friends that would LOVE this.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes, I was aware of it but have not purchased it before. I have purchased Pedigree treats e.g. Dentastix before

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

The app was useful to work out how much my dog needed. Gradually switched over from current dog food. She is already fed with dry food and absolutely loved the wet pouches. She is now on Pedigree dry and wet dog food supplemented with occasional Dentastix and treats. She loves Dentastix and the treats. No diarrhoea which is what I was dreading with a change in diet. Coat looks shiny and she seems to have plenty of energy.

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

Probably wouldn't consider the full Pedigree diet - my impression is that it would be more expensive that her previous food (Eukanuba) and also would need more storage for dry as well as wet food. Would definitely consider buying the wet food pouches on occasion as a treat. She already has regular treats and would buy Pedigree treats if they were on special offer - too expensive at normal price.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I think it is good quality dog food but can be on the expensive side.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?

It is useful to determine amount of food dog should be having but didn't use it regularly after that.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, if they wanted to see how much food a dog should be getting and also to register exercise, would be good.

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
Yes was aware dfil only ever fed his dogs Pedigree Chum and mixer. I did buy the puppy pouches when Eric was a pup when he started to refuse the food his breeder had fed him on, he din't eat them either.
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
Eric is the world's fussiest dog so was interested to see how we'd fare. He point blank refuses to try the pouches but he is now happily eating the dry food which considering I've gone through pretty much every brand on the market is quite an achievement. He will eat the odd cheesy bite but refuses the crunchy nuggets but Eric's treat of choice is ham and nothing comes close to that. He plays with the dent stix but he doesn't seem to want to chew them.
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
We will continue with the dry food as he is eating that, won't buy the pouches or the treats though as he won't eat them. I didn't think he'd eat any of it regularly so really pleasantly surprised.
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I'd recommend especially to the owners of fussy dogs as anything Eric eats is a bonus. He's happy on the dry food, his coat looks good, plenty of energy and no problems with bowels and no noticeable wind.
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
I liked it,it reassured me that Eric is getting enough exercise to keep him fit and healthy.
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would recommend, I've enjoyed keeping a track on how much we do on a daily and weekly basis.
Thank you Pedigree and Mumsnet for letting me take part in this product test.

Yes, I am aware of pedigree dog food.d
So far my dog loves all of the food. In fact she gets very excited. However I am concerned by the number of additives 🆚 her normal food. She has taken well to having both dry and wet food. I have always used dentastix, so this is nothing new.
It's too early to say whether I would switch or recommend to someone else.
Didn't really like the app. It's recommended amount of food for my dog was far too much. Twice as much as I would feed her normally, and given she maintains a healthy weight I have no intention of increasing her food. I also found the slow and clunky and currently would not recommend it.

1.I've heard of pedigree as a brand , I've bought dentistix for my dog but nothing else from the range.

  1. My little dog is fussy and doesn't eat a lot . She has enjoyed this new food . I take the dried food to the park and use it as reward treats , mixed with little dog bones . She has been eating 1 packet of wet food per day as recommended by the app . She loves the treats and the dentistix , she barks to be given a dentistick.
  2. I want my dog to be healthy and well fed , she appears to be doing really well , she's been eating this new food for a couple of weeks now . She's enjoying it , has plenty of energy so we will stay with it .

4 . I've recommended it already to other dog owners . I've tried so many foods with my dog that she turns her nose up at that have become a waste of money .
  1. I was disappointed, it was very simplistic .
  2. I wouldn't recommend it , it didn't have any content or substance .

I was so chuffed to get all the food in a big parcel in the post, I had completely forgot that I entered the trial! Lovely that it was all addressed to my pooch Bramble too.
Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?

Yes, I have had three dogs and they have all had Pedigree at some point. The sachets were bit of a treat for my puppy so I bought them occasionally, but she loved the meaty bite snacks and we had plenty of those in stock.

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.

Well I had to make the transition slowly as she was on vet food because of a stomach infection. This was done over ten days and she is now having the dried food mixed with a sachet twice a day. The sachets are very easy to use and quick. She seemed to love it at first but I have to say her eating has slowed down over the last few days and she seems to wait until later before going to her bowl to eat. This may be because she is fussy or maybe doesn't need her two meals a day anymore. She is very funny with the chew tubes - she doesn't eat them but hides them. I even found one under my pillow the other night!

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?

Definitely the dried and wet food combo and the meaty snacks although they are not in my trial. I don't think I would buy the tubes as it seems a waste if she doesn't eat them.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Gosh yes, it is good value for money and seems to keep her happy and perky.

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
It was good and for new owners a great idea. I have had three dogs so didn't feel the need to use it all the time.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not
Yes, to new owners especially.

Oscar, my 7 year old border collie is testing the wet food pouches and complete chicken dry food. we have also been testing dentistix and tasty bites as treats.
Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before? Yes and yes
Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products. my dog doesn't like the dry food on it's own! but as soon as i empty a pouch onto it he devours it..so he has that twice a day instead of one, then the other. he also loves the tasty bites, but although he eats the dentistix he can take it or leave it.
Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why? i would definitely consider using the complete diet, but i do think the pouches are expensive for the size of serving
Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? i would recommend based on the fact that my dog seems to like it.
Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app? although i installed it onto my phone, i don't really use apps, so would find it difficult to comment
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not? please see Q5

Thanks to Pedigree for letting us try their food range. We have a 3 1/2 yr old working strain Labrador

Q1. Were you aware of Pedigree® dog food before taking part in this product test? If so, have you ever purchased it before?
Yes was aware, but have only bought the treat range in the past

Q2. What are your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Complete Feeding diet your dog tested? We’d love your thoughts on the complete diet as well as the individual products.
We changed the dog over slowly as per instructions. So far the dog seems really happy on it. Her behaviour hasn't changed which is relevant to us as she was previously on a food recommended for 'highly strung' dogs (which is hugely expensive)

Q3. In future, how likely are you to consider regularly feeding the full Pedigree® diet that your dog tested to your dog? If not the full diet, which particular products would you consider and why?
I have always used a complete dried food, and find that really convenient, so that'd be the element I'd most likely stick to. I also particularly like the dentastix. Having said that if the dog seems in optimum health at the end of the trial I'd consider continuing with the pouches as well.

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'd certainly be happy to share our experiences with the foods we have tried. I am in particular interested in the fact that I have been advised to feed a far more expensive food, when the dog seems to be as stable on the pedigree range

Q5. What were your overall impressions of the Pedigree® Tracks app?
The results we got with regard to the feeding quantities, differed from the advice on the back of the packaging considerably - it told us to feed our 20kg dog one pouch a day whereas I think the packaging advised 5 pouches plus a quantity of dried food. We tried inputing our info a couple of times to check whether we had made a mistake. Overall I think the app is fun and would be useful to new dog owners - the kids love it.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pedigree® Tracks to other dog owners? If so, why? If not, why not?
Think it would be a useful tool for new dog owners and great for teaching kids about looking after a dog
