-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
It depends on the result you want!! It was easy to put some icing on the egg, and not so easy to get a design to be proud of!! I foolishly had our egg upright, and hadn't realised how much the icing would run! We did also find that it took only a short while for the icing in the tube to cool down and become too hard to use. The optimal icing consistency is probably only present for a minute or two.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Absolutely. We have two boys aged 4 and 2 and they really enjoyed it.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Hehe yes. I was worried they wouldn't want to eat their creation as they are normally very protective of their art. Turned out that wasn't a problem they happily smashed and devoured it.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Yes if the price was right. It's a bit of fun and you get marginally more time out of your egg ^^ We all enjoyed doing it together and there was no fighting until the eating bit :)

I hesitate to upload photos as even mummys effort is a bit sad, but I will to prove I did it!!

Unfortunately we received the egg kit today, and have been unable to decorate it as it didn't arrive in one piece :( however we are going to keep the icing etc that came with it and decorate a new egg. The chocolate did taste yummy, we enjoyed eating it :)

The kit was easy to use but egg was broken in half on arrival. Stand a bit precarious and would be better lying down. My daughter had same icing problem as nigglenaggles kids in that it ran down the egg and went translucent. Couldn't really do a design. Apparently the icing tasted nice though.

She enjoyed the activity but couldn't do her name due to problems above.

The egg and icing tasted nice.

It was a bit of fun but not sure I would recommend as doesn't really do what it promises.

Ours arrived today in a padded envelope Hmm and looked like this so I ate it for breakfast no decorating for us sadly.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?

We weren't able to use the 'kit' because the egg was smashed.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

My DC would have enjoyed it had we been able to do it but it would have taken all of about 2 minutes!

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

The egg was delicious.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

No. As a new product, it's hardly going to set the world on fire. It's just a bog standard egg with a little tube of white icing. Lazy design.

Just read mine back and it sounds a bit arsey - sorry. I think I have PMT Angry. Thanks for picking us anyways, it's always nice to get chocolate in the post!

as with others, our egg was somewhat destroyed on arrival.
hasnt stopped us eating it, but made it hard to decorate.

We will also be decorating something else (my daughter tried decorating a flapjack which was, well, sort of wrong....)

Oh, and yes the chocolate was very nice. But as a product it wasnt the most eggciting!! as the poster above said, just a general egg and a small tube of icing in one colour - could have had some other colours maybe, or illustrations on the back to give kids an idea.

So disappointed...our egg was broken too. My dc attempted to decorate the pieces but the results were awful as it was in lots of small pieces and couldn't stand up in the stand.

How easy was the decorating kit to use?

The icing was a bit of a faff, first having to put in hot water etc and to be honest it still didn't work brilliantly. The stand to put the egg in was a great idea.

Did your dc's enjoy the activity?

They had been so excited about this but were obviously disappointed that it was smashed so we couldn't do it properly. They both commented that even if the egg hadn't been smashed, it would have been boring. When I asked why, they agreed that just plain white icing and no sweeties or other decorations to stick on wasn't what they'd expected.

Did your dc's enjoy the taste of the egg?

Oh yes!! No complaints there! My son says that Cadbury's Easter eggshell is his favourite treat of the whole year.

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

Only if some changes were made. Perhaps having different coloured icing and some little chocolate beans or jellies to stick on would improve it.

Many thanks for the chance to try this new product.

Hi

We received our egg today and as like with others, it didn't survive the journey completely intact. However, we did our best to decorate and taste it - a hard job but someone has to do it! Here's our feedback:

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?

Easy but the icing was quite runny. My kids liked squirting it directly into each others mouths at the end.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

The certainly did. They shared it without any arguing so bonus there.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

Yes they did and thought the icing was like a cream egg. I tried it as well (purely for the benefit of product testing) but it didn't taste how I remember cadburys Easter eggs tasting.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

Yes, I like that you get more than just an egg. The icing needs improving ie. Thicker, brighter colours and maybe some sweets to stick on.

Thanks for choosing us!

as with some others the egg was broken on arrival it tasted yummy though but the icing was affy runny.

if the icing was thicker and we had some other things to decorate with i think it would have been better (along with an unbroken egg)

the DC loved the taste and were excited to decorate, dissapointed to not get to but happy to eat it

No decorating for us either, sadly. The egg arrived in a Jiffy bag, which looked as though the postman had tried to push it through the letterbox prior to leaving it with the neighbours 🙄

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?

We weren't able to use the 'kit' because the egg was smashed.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

My Dc would have enjoyed this, particularly my 9 yo.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

Delicious Cadburys chocolate.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

yes, for Dc that enjoy a bit of craft. Probably better for older children that might have the patience to pipe icing before scoffing the egg.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
I attempt to see how the icing pen worked how ever it was quite hard even following the instructions of putting in 'hand hot water' also the icing was very runny and hard to squeeze out of the pen even for me! When icing was dispensed it just ran and couldn't create an image with. Also I found the egg stand was quite flimsy and not very stable.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
My DC's are 3 & 5 and took it in turns to try squeezing the icing out which I had to keep squeezing some out then passig it to them whilst it was dangling! The enjoyed the idea of it but I think they were disappointed in the result

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes my children are familiar to Cabury's chocolate and we all shared some of it as its not EGG-actly (SORRY) treat size. I think the fact it was actual icing to decorate with was a bit random and didnt like the combo maybe you could do the same with maybe cadbury white chocolate icing?

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
No, Sorry!

Also for a recommendation for improving the product, make the packing more obvious as to what it actually is as I also saw these in the supermarket and just thought it was just another Cadbury egg, but I do like the idea of it just needs more work!

We're very sorry to hear that some eggs have arrived broken, and that your DCs weren't able to decorate them. Don't worry about posting pictures if this was the case, please just tell us what you thought about the product concept - so in theory, would your DCs have enjoyed decorating the egg, did you like the idea behind the product?

Many thanks!

The icing was pretty fiddly to be honest and not easy for little ones to create anything other than a bit of a mess.
Ds was j retested for about 5 minutes, but without anything 'extra' to stick on, like you get with the gingerbread men kits, he soon lost interest. He's only 3 though so maybe older kids would keep at it longer
Taste was as expected from a Cadbury product, so yes.
Sorry, wouldn't recommend this though

EGGCELLENT StarStarStarStarStar
The chocolate arrived in one full piece however when I opened it the two pieces spilt apart causing it to crack just a little bit. the stand holds the egg well to allow for decoration. The icing oozes out nicely and the kit is very easy to use. We decided to make Humpty Dumpty as its one of the fav rhymes and its complimented the cracked egg effect. We loved the activity. Both the icing and the chocolate taste delicious! Almost all of it was gone within minutes. I would buy this in the shop & recommend it to anyone with a child or even for a creative adult for some light hearted Easter fun.

Mine arrived smashed to bits too Sad.

I think the kids would have enjoyed it but it's a bit basic. Like someone else said it would be better if there where other sweets included or even another colour icing. I am not sure if I would recommend it and it would also depend on the price too as it's just a bog standard chocolate egg plus small tube of icing.

Are we allowed to comment if we aren't actually reviewing the product? Are we allowed to say it looks like someone has spunked on a chocolate egg because of the awful consistency of the icing? Grin

Received ours yesterday!

-How easy was the decorating kit to use? Very easy to use, however the icing was way too runny and impossible to decorate with. I only warmed it in my hands for 20 seconds too. The stand was great, very sturdy.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity? They loved it! Great idea for easter.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg? We all did! Lovely chocolate from Cadburys, as always!
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend? It's a great kit, the only disappointing issue is the icing. It needs to be thicker, the one provided is more like the drizzly stuff used on cakes.

Overall my children loved the experience :)

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Very easy icing came out easily even for a 3 year old.
The icing was far too thin though. I had read comments above and laid it flat to stop the running however it still ran everywhere. I had a quick go after my son had finished and couldn't make a neat pattern either. It is not strong enough white colour either so doesn't look very nice either.
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Yes he loved it, but it didn't last long it would be better if different colours and stuff go stick on it.
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Of course it's cadburys so tasted delicious, you can't beat cadburys.
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
No I thought the icing was rubbish, couldn't it had been white chocolate? I also thought the packaging was quite boring however my son was still very excited about it. However the idea in principal is a very good idea. If it worked and there were things to stick on I would definitely buy it as it would be a great activity for Easter Sunday.

Our egg arrived broken too Confused

We tried to decorate the pieces without much success. The icing was quite fiddly for my 5 year old to manage. She enjoyed having a go but was a bit frustrated that she couldn't squeeze the icing easily.

The chocolate it's self was delicious.

I felt the product had the opportunity to be so much more; coloured icing, sprinkles to decorate etc. unfortunately as a concept this was just not innovative enough to persuade me to buy it
