1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
The vitamins arrived in a fabulous purple gift box, tied with ribbon, inside was shredded purple paper and the two boxes of vitamins. On the inside of the lid was a colourful picture of various fruits and the Bassetts vitamins range. I loved this! I'm one of those sad types who loves nice packaging and smartly wrapped gifts. I'd had a crap night the night before with very no sleep and loads of stress so it was a little bit of cheer, even if it was only vitamins. My 3yo loved the box too and is currently using it to store her 'treasures', including the satin ribbon it was tied with :o

My overall impression is that they're a good brand.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DC are 18mo, 3yo, and 5yo. The product test was for 3yo DD but 5yo DS1 insisted on having one every morning too because heaven forbid DD should have something he doesn't.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
They loved them. DD was in the kitchen each morning asking for her vitamin "what about my vitamint? I need my vitamint?". She liked the strawberry flavour and that they were squidgy like haribo. She also likes the little characters on the box.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would. They're attractive to children with fruit flavour and chewy texture, mine were volunteering to take them :)

Corr blimey - they came in a very fancy box didn't they! That is the special postage box, rather than the actual packaging.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

I thought the packaging was actually very dull since the relaunch -i saw the old which seemed more fun. The packaging actually doesn't say soft and chewy anywhere other than in tiny type on the back. If I saw in a shop i wouldn't have any idea that they were soft chewy vitamins rather than the usual white tablet sort. However, once opening the box my daughter was hopping up and down asking for a sweetie which is a great change after battling her to take liquid vitamins! Possibly have a relook at the packaging design?

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test? My only daughter is 4yo and has tried bassets vitamins before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like? Yes, she loves them - but possibly prefers the orange. She likes them as they taste like haribo sweeties to her. She thinks its a special morning treat.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? I definitely would - as a way to trick vitamins into a child. Although with some very organic mums i'd still feel a bit wary of admitting I give my child something so sugary in the morning (i know its natural sugars - i know!)

on another note - I am so totally excited that you have adult versions of these! I'M going to see if I can spot them in boots. Have you figured out that I was craftily swiping one for myself each day? They just taste so good...

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test? My kids are 5&9 my five year old tried the strawberry ones.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like? Yes, they taste good like Swy's and they are chewy. My kids also enjoy poping them out of the packet

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes. If it came up in conversation that they were thinking of using vitamins.

They came beautifully packaged like a present - it was a treat to receive them - made my day!

overall impression
Brightly coloured boxes with fun 'jelly baby type' characters. Kept fresh and hygienic in individual pop-out seals.

how old are your DCs
My DCs are 13, 10, 7, 5, 2 and 2weeks. My 5 year old DD is the tester. She loves them and asks for one before breakfast every morning. She thinks they are like sweeties and would eat them all at once given the chance - had to explain its only one a day and put them away safely.

did your child like the strawberry flavour?
We had both the strawberry and orange flavour and she likes them both.

would you recommend
Absolutely - great way to ensure your children are getting all the vitamins they need without any fuss - will definitely purchase once trial vitamins are finished.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins? .....again as others have said, the packaging for these products was amazing, maybe slightly OTT for 2 little boxes of vitamins!! the packaging of the actual product is bright, but I was surprised that it wasn't made clearer on the box that the actual vitamins were soft and chewy.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test? .....My children are 10, 9, 7 and 5 - I think the older ones had Bassetts Vitamins before when they were on offer in Tesco. My 5 yo has been testing these vitamins

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like? ..... My son really likes the flavour of these - his exact words were, they are yummy and the flavour is really nice. I like them because they are chewy not crunchy

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? .....I would recommend these to others as the flavour is good and the children have been more than willing to take one a day unlike some of the crunchy vitamin types that Ive been buying recently

Another one who was excited to receive a parcel in such lovely packaging and was somewhat disappointed to discover it only contained two boxes of vitamins and the shredded tissue paper that DC2 scattered all over the kitchen floor.

DCs are 4 and 9 and we had a box of strawberry vitamins for the youngest and the raspberry ones for the eldest. I don't think I've bought Bassetts vitamins for them in the past - I usually buy supermarket own brand.

The packaging is attractive and child-friendly and both enjoyed taking them each evening. They are more like sweets than vitamins which may or may not be a good thing.

I would recommend them to friends and family though I'm not sure if I'd buy them at the proposed retail price when I can get similar for less though in the grand scheme of things under £4 a month doesn't seem too bad.

I received the Bassetts Vitamins a few days ago and I have to say the box they were sent in was lovely (purple with purple ribbons - and a bit oversized lol)

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I think the box is very child friendly - maybe a bit too child friendly, as my younger children thought they looked like boxes of sweets.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DS5, DSD5, DSD13, DSS15, DSS15, none of them have tried Bassetts Vitamins before. DS is having the strawberry 3-6 (and DSD is having the orange 3-6 to make it fair)

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
YES no quibbles, he likes the fact they're soft and chewy and say's they'll help make him "big and strong" - going to have to buy more when they are all gone!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
yes absolutely - the kids say they taste great, they're soft and chewy, plus they're good for them!

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

We were all very excited to open the beautifully packaged box. The packaging of the vitamins themselves is bright and appealing, esp the pink (strawberry) one.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

DCs are 5 and 3. They've had multi vitamins in the best in syrup form. Both tried these vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

Loved them. Because they look like sweets but I have to admit they are very appealing and smell great too. They pester me for them.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would - I hope they really are good for the kids as it's reassuring to know that their vitamin needs can be met so easily

  1. Overall impression was positive but it would have been nice to have had vitamin c in the multivitamin as well. I'm not sure why that wasn't included.

  1. I have one dd who is four, she tried the vitamins and she hasn't had bassetts vitamins previously but she does usually have vitamins every day.

  1. Yes she really liked them, and in fact looked forward to finishing dinner so she could have one. She liked the smiley face on the vitamin and said it was just like a sweet.

  1. For the vitamins it provides, yes I would definitely recommend, but ideally I would get one with minerals as well as vitamins.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
We were very surprised to receive such a beautifully packaged parcel. Conveniently packaged in small strips. Handy in terms of storage.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My five year old. No, he has never tried them before.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
My son took an instant dislike to them. I got him to do the sniff and lick test. Just about managed that. Put it in his mouth and he instantly spat it out indicating that he didn't like and said something about if he ate it, it would upset his stomach. No amount of persuasion would get him to eat it.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
After my son tried it, I decided to try it myself in order to see what it was like. Very pleasant and child friendly for most. Very like a sweet. I would recommend it for children who eat sweets. (My child unfortunately does not like sweets in the main. If only I could find a chocolate bar packed with suitable multi vitamins.)

My dd is 3 and has been taking liquid vitamins in one form or another since she was a prem baby. I recently bought a pack of generic chewy vitamins for her, but she refused to touch them.
When the package from Bassetts turned up I left it in the box for her to open and now, all of a sudden, she's begging me to take her vitamins each morning!

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
Good quality - they smell lovely and there seem to be a good amount in the packet.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My daughter is 3. She's never tried Bassetts Vitamins before, only various brands of liquid vitamins.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
She loves them, and calls them "the special things." When her aunt visited the other day the first thing she did was take her to the cupboard and show her where the special things are kept.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely. I take vitamins daily and am pleased to find something my daughter will happily take. I'd rather find something that includes omega 3 oils but I'm just happy for her to get some supplements as her diet can be a bit erratic.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins? I had been confident of the brand before it arrived so my expectations were high. The smart purple box was a nice touch and the boxes of vitamins are brightly coloured.

2.How old are your DCs? 3 and 5

Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? No

Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test? Both of them

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds?

My boys tried both the orange and the strawberry. The 3 yo liked both, especially how chewy they were. He said that they tasted "strong" and "like sweeties". He thought that they tasted like the fruits they were flavoured with. My 5 yo liked the Orange ones although he said they had "too much flavour" and "hurt his tongue" at the end. He did not like the strawberry flavoured ones at all, saying that they tasted "greasy" and that he would not have one again.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

This is tricky. One of the things that other reviewers like about them is something that I do not like. The packaging makes my children think that they are sweets and blurs the lines between items that are safe to eat and those that can only be given by a parent (usually medicines). This is compounded by the taste, shape and texture of the vitamins themselves. I think that the packaging, mwhilst being child friendly, needs to look less like a packet of jelly babies and more medicine like.

I have been using the vitamins for a week and have not noticed any difference in my children and therefore have no evidence that they are benefitting them in any way. Therefore I would not recommend them.

1.What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?
I loved the purple box it arrived in, felt very special and did make me think Bassett's must appreciate testers which is nice.
Appealing packaging to kids. Liked the blister packs as its not so tempting for kids to eat like sweets, although obviously they are kept out of reach but still good.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
DC are 1, 2, 5, 7 and 9. Never tried before. 5 year old tried them.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
Yes, she liked them. She loved the face on them and said they are juicy, fruity and sweet.

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would, if someone wanted vitamins for kids, I'd be happy to recommend bassetts. I can't comment on whether they work or not but in taste, they are good. Although slightly disappointed by the sugar in them.

Thanks for picking us.

They were super duper! They looked just like little sweeties and they had a nice texture, not too hard or chalky like some jelly sweets. The smell of them was divine and really woke us up at the breakfast table.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?
She absolutely loved them. Strawberry is her favourite flavour of everything so she couldn't wait to try one. She thinks they taste 'squishy and delicious' and she likes the idea that they will make her strong and healthy (and she hopes they make her hair grow long like Elsa from Frozen)

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
i would definitely recommend them. They are so easy to give with breakfast and the sweetie like style of them seems like a treat for little ones.

What was your overall impression of Bassetts Vitamins?

They were excellent. Clear packaging and kept in blister packs for freshness.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?

Children are 8,6,4,2,1 the 4-year-old tried the vitamins. They hadn't tried Bassetts vitamins before. We usually have tesco's chewable ones.

3.Did your child like our Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds? If so, what did your child like about them? If no, what didn’t they like?

My child loved them! She loved the strawberry flavour and the fact they were like sweets Smile The only trouble was she wanted to have lots as they tasted so nice!

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I'd definitely recommend them. They kept fresh (unlike our usual ones which seem to go a bit mouldy towards the end of the pack; they were hit with the kids and they also had a good amount of the RDA of each vitamin in them. We'll be getting these again.

Impressed over all.

2.How old are your DCs? Have they tried Bassetts Vitamins before? Which of your children tried Bassetts Vitamins strawberry flavour for 3 to 6 year olds as part of this product test?
My DC are 21 months old and 4yo. The product test was for 3yo DD.

She loved the vitamins (both flavours but strawberry best) and looks forward to taking one each day. The only issue is my 21 month old getting upset because she doesn't get one (she has to have a strawberry to make up for it!)

4.Would you recommend Bassetts Vitamins to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Children are 3 and 5. They both tried them (strawberry flavour). We have had Bassett children's vitamins before, but not for a couple of years. They were appealing to the children - they look and taste like sweets! I'd recommend them to other parents as the children like them so much. Although I'd probably buy the variety with added Omega 3 instead of these ones, I always worry the kids don't get enough!
