We've been asked by Eastpak to find 10 Mumsnetters and their DCs to test their Wyoming backpack and their Flask totebag.

Here’s what Eastpak say “Our years of experience tell us that backpacks go through a lot of wear and tear when they’re in the hands of kids, and aren’t always treated that carefully, so we want you to put our backpacks through their paces and tell us how they hold up. And it’s not just about the kids – we want to see what you think about our totes designed for being out and about in the city. Take it every where you, and let us know how it feels, looks, and what other people think about it.”

This product test is open to UK Mumsnetters who have a child aged 14+
Testers will receive:

If selected, you will be sent the backpack and totebag to test by 21st August and asked to try it for two weeks. You and your child would need to test the bags and add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. In order to keep the products, you would need to add your feedback by 11th September, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

If you’re interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I used the mobile app and thought that the transport question could have done with a "never" as we travel to London only once or twice a year so I could not give an accurate answer tithe question about LondonUnderground travel.

Done and fingers crossed

Done!
I agree about the question regarding trains/underground. We DO use them, but not monthly.

On the transport questions, I just didn't tick if it was "never". We are never in a car for instance.

When I completed the survey, it took me to a survey monkey page charity donation. Can you please confirm if my survey went through?

My DC are younger, 9 yrs, and though they would also love the bag and it is a shame it is 14+, I am however very pleased see a product test aimed at families with teens. Here's to many more of them!

I could have done with both never and less than once a month options.

Maladicta · 08/08/2015 09:23

Done. 15yo dd needs a new backpack so this is well-timed! I like the look of the totes.

The options are there, but you have to swipe sideways to see them.

Nice to have a teenager related chance to test Smile

I did the survey yesterday.
I'm always amazed at the difference between the quality of different backpacks. Some seem to last forever while others are useless.

Just completed the form. Although I've already had to buy ds' new backpack , as he starts back at school next Thursday Shock had to brave the hell that is SportsDirect Hmm Not happy with what he chose though - I think it is far too flimsy, given that he doesn't have a locker, so has to carry everything, included his sports kit (he is doing PE as a subject and also plays rugby, so he has PE/rugby every day) all the time.

They look great for college. Ds is on public services course this year and as a family we do hill/mountain climbing etc. love to find something he could use for both

Totally missed the second bag that comes with this product test, that would be great for work

Survey done. Both my DCs have only ever used Eastpak bags and DD still uses the one we bought her in Germany in 2001!

Spydra · 08/08/2015 20:10

Filled in - yes please! I still have my own huge turquoise Eastpak rucksack from circa 2000. Broken front zip held in with safety pins means DC turn their noses up at it though.

I didn't realise eastpak did tote bags - love the leopard print.

This would be amazing for college, but dd also has several trips to do before the end of the summer, and could give the backpack a really good try out even before college starts!

Dh uses a backpack for work and wears them very quickly, would love to try this for him but although he doesn't always act it, he is definitely over 18..

Good to see product tests for families with teens though Smile

Gah! DS turns 14 a few days after the feedback.
(MNHQ, can I enter anyway? He'd certainly put a bag through rigorous testing)

you will be sent the backpack and totebag to test by 21st August and asked to try it for two weeks.

It would get two days of testing from my DS as they go back on 3 Sept. Strange timing unless you're Scottish.

Regardless, neither of my DSs would be seen in public with that backpack I'm afraid.
