We have been asked by the folks at Puffin books to find 250 UK Mumsnetters with a child aged 5 to 10 to have a listen to an audiobook and to share your thoughts and reviews on MN.
Puffin say “we’re delighted to invite you to join our Summer AudioBook Club. Audiobooks are a brilliant way to get children and their parents to experience the thrill, laughter and excitement of stories. There is no better time for audiobooks than the school holidays when there is lots of free time, long journeys and plenty of curious minds to entertain. MP3 players, smartphones and tablets mean that these days you can take audiobooks anywhere you and your kids go. So Puffin have chosen a selection of audiobooks that your children can enjoy on their own or to keep the whole family enthralled. Stories designed to make the family laugh out loud and to transport you to magical places, all brought to life with brilliant performances by incredible story tellers. As it’s a book club we’d love you to listen to the audiobooks and tell us what you think on the Mumsnet feedback threads”.
To take part you can pick whether you'd like to receive an MP3 download link or a promotional CD depending on what device you would prefer to listen on.
You can pick the audiobook you'd like to receive: - these are categorised into ‘Laugh Out Loud’ titles and ‘Magic and Adventure’ titles. It doesn't matter if your child has already read the physical version of the book as this is a brand new and exciting way for them to experience the story again. The ages below are just indicators as a guide.
Laugh out loud (LOL i.e. funny books)

There will be two feedback threads - one for the Laugh out Loud reviewers and one for the Magic and Adventure reviewers. Please note we are looking for feedback around the middle of August: please only apply if you're able to give feedback then.
We'd also like you to add a review of the audiobook on MN.
All who take part and who add feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw where four MNers will each win a £75 voucher from either iTunes or Amazon so you can buy audiobooks!.
If you’re interested in taking part please sign up here.
Happy listening.
