Colgate® is looking for 250 Mumsnetters and their children to test out the new Colgate® Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutraliser™ toothpaste.

Here’s what Colgate say: “Did you know that 84% of children and all adults suffer from cavities at some point in their life*?

“Cavities, also known as tooth decay, are the most common chronic disease on the planet. But cavities are preventable and this is why Colgate® created a new breakthrough anti-cavity toothpaste called Colgate® Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid NeutraliserTM.

“Providing close to double the protection against early decay**, Colgate® Maximum Cavity Protection is the first and only toothpaste to contain Sugar Acid NeutraliserTM, that goes beyond the protection of fluoride, neutralising sugar acids in plaque – the #1 cause of cavities.

“Colgate’s Head of Scientific Affairs, Foti Panagakos comments:
“More and more we’re aware of the increasing levels of sugar in our diets and the negative impact this has on our health. The need for a toothpaste with built in Sugar Acid Neutraliser™ has never been so urgent. Colgate® Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutraliser™ will have a tremendous impact on the oral health of the nation.””

UK Adult Dental Health Survey 2009, The Health and Social Care Information Centre
** Toothpaste with fluoride alone reduced by 32%

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters and with at least one child.

All those selected will receive one 75ml Adult and one 50ml Kids tube of Colgate® Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutraliser™ toothpaste and educational materials such as brushing charts.

Testers will be required to use Colgate® Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutraliser™ in place of their usual toothpaste by brushing twice a day for 2 weeks (between 23rd March – 6th April). After the first week of testing they will need to leave their feedback on a thread on Mumsnet and complete a short feedback survey, so please only sign up if you’re available during this time.

All Mumsnetters who post their feedback on the thread and complete the feedback survey will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 supermarket voucher of their choice
.

Done. We would love to try this product. There are so many toothpastes and so many claims that I don't know which is best to use anymore.

SIGH.

Clearly, when faced with the evidence that modern, processed diets are destroying our health (and our bones and teeth), the preferred answer to that problem is to invent medications and products that might help reduce some of the the effects of modern processed diets on your health (and teeth).

Perhaps some radical thinking is what's needed? Perhaps we should stop eating highly processed grains and sugars and start eating real food? Maybe then our teeth (and bodies) might last a bit longer!

Done. Ds3 (17) drinks far too much sugary, fizzy crap (he has a job so has his own money to fritter), and has had a couple of fillings - and needs another one now - so this could be exactly what he needs!

Done. DD will just about be old enough. I would probably buy this if I saw it anyway as she eats lots of fruit so I'd be interested to try it for free.

Would love to try this to see if it makes a difference,, as we've recently needed fillings in between our six monthly dental appointments.

Really? 16% of people never get a hole in their teeth?

I'm shocked. Who are these people? No one I've ever met!
