Dyson are looking for 20 Mumsnetters to test out their newest vacuum - The Dyson Cinetic DC54 (Currently sold for £459.99 on the Dyson website).

Here's what Dyson have to say, "Dyson's latest vacuum cleaner uses Dyson Cinetic cyclone technology. 54 cyclones are equipped with oscillating rubber tips making them so efficient at separating dust there is no need for filter maintenance. As a result, it will not lose suction over the lifetime of the machine. It is Dyson's biggest step forward in vacuum technology since removing the bag in 1993."

Putting it to the test

"Dyson engineers spent 9,000 hours testing the new Dyson Cinetic; which is the equivalent of 500 years of vacuuming in the home. So now we want hectic households to put it to the test. Over 2 tonnes of dust was used to test the Dyson Cinetic vacuum, roughly the same weight as a bull elephant. Can you do better?"

No loss of suction. Ever.

"Bagged vacuums lose suction almost instantly. Fine dust clogs the pores of the bag restricting airflow while other cyclonic vacuum cleaners often rely on filters to capture dust which have the same problem. The Dyson Cinetic's oscillating rubber tips are made from a top secret material that's been tested with over 10 years' worth of test dust. The Dyson Cinetic vacuum cleaner will not lose suction."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

Dyson are on the hunt for 20 MNers who are:
- Available to receive a machine, and willing to test it over a two week period between 17th February and 3rd March, so please only apply if you're available during this time. You will get to keep the Dyson Cinetic once you have finished testing.
- Able to leave feedback on the feedback thread, a review in the reviews section of Mumsnet, and a short survey outlining your feedback to be used on Dyson's website.
- Comfortable submitting photos of the test.

Dyson will set three challenges testing the speed, effectiveness and durability of the Dyson Cinetic which you'll need to complete. We'll post these on the feedback thread. Don't worry they should be fun!

If you want to sign up to test out the Dyson Cinetic, click here.

For those of you who aren't successful, keep an eye out for the feedback thread where you could still be in with the chance to win a Dyson Cinetic vacuum of your own.

If you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Please note: Testers will be required to send photos into Mumsnet (and optional video footage). These could potentially be used on Dyson websites and social media pages (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc).

I would love to try this! I have 4 cats, 4 children and a hairy partner. And.... my Vax broke 2 weeks ago, so I'm currently having to vacuum the whole house with the nozzle sad PLEASE let me try it!

muddledsheep Mon 03-Feb-14 17:54:09

Done thank you!

SkateLife Mon 03-Feb-14 17:59:29

Hope I get picked. Might encourage dh to hoover more.

I've also applied. If the Cinetic can be successfully handled by an old crock like me, and clean up the accumulated debris from a very fluffy cat and long-term neglect, I'm the woman to prove it!

MissMusicale Mon 03-Feb-14 18:01:47

Yep, I've signed up........fingers crossed for the sake of our carpet

Joules68 Mon 03-Feb-14 18:10:12

DrNick Mon 03-Feb-14 18:11:07

TalisaMaegyr Mon 03-Feb-14 18:13:50

It's kind of polite to write something when you've applied though, isn't it? smile

DrNick Mon 03-Feb-14 18:14:46

its pointless

TalisaMaegyr Mon 03-Feb-14 18:16:37

It's good manners.

Anonymousy Mon 03-Feb-14 18:16:43

Oh, how I would love this.

Greywacke Mon 03-Feb-14 18:24:17

Signed up...as I look around realising I need to vacuum again!

RandallFloyd Mon 03-Feb-14 18:26:26

Done.

The only things I've been picked for so far are washing powder and arse cream.

This baby's mine, I can feel it in my water.

lubeybooby Mon 03-Feb-14 18:36:58

DrNick I write something when I've done one of these so I can find the thread again and see when the chosen ones have been notified etc. Could just 'watch' it I suppose but I never look in there really.

DrNick Mon 03-Feb-14 18:43:35

ah well thats a point. smile

CecyHall Mon 03-Feb-14 18:48:15

Jinty64 Mon 03-Feb-14 18:51:26

Ooh, it would be wonderful. The dog hair is sending me under.

QueenOfGeeks Mon 03-Feb-14 18:52:55

Would love this, with a toddler and 3 cats it's sorely needed.
Fingers crossed.

Definitely would LOVE to do this. We have a cat that constantly sheds hair, and a child that makes a mess with everything. Plus my hair clogs up our current dyson, and we have DIY and loft clearing to do before we move in April. Fingers crossed I am a pityable enough case...

done! I would love this between the three year old and the dog my carpets are a mess I would love to see if this works!

scalesagain Mon 03-Feb-14 20:12:11

We have a fluffy cat and our dyson is past its best.

SweetPeaPods Mon 03-Feb-14 21:40:55
